Chapter 4961 - Chapter 4024: MU: Super Body Incident (67)

"Back to Earth." Constantine turned to Shiller and said, "Considering that Anya will spend most of her time on Earth in the future, this permanent body must be created on Earth to ensure that the body can adapt to the environment. Moreover, considering she is surrounded by mutants, the body should ideally have some special powers, at least a magic affinity, so that she can at least be a magician."

Shiller nodded. Although Constantine's methods mainly revolve around "the knife above the word 'color'," sometimes the method is not important, the result is more critical. Just say whether he succeeded in his task or not.

The issue of Anya's body was something Erik and Charles had already been preparing for, but unfortunately, it's not easy to create a body for a soul body.

Originally, Stark should have handled this, and Stark did try, but neither creating a mechanical body nor a magic-based magic body could forcefully cram the soul of a once-living person inside. This is not quite the same as soul ignition.

Soul ignition involves having a body first before shaping the soul, while Anya already has a soul, and the body is shaped for this soul. The former has been happening on Earth all along—a newborn's birth involves the physical union of sperm and egg first, followed by the ignition of the soul flame.

However, if one could easily shape a body for a soul, the human race would never die. Once a body's expiry date is up, just swap it, and soul energy can be replenished with magic energy, allowing everyone to live forever. This obviously violates cosmic laws. Thus, achieving this is particularly challenging.

The bodies Stark created could be inhabited by Anya and manipulated with difficulty, but it felt more like sitting in a driver's seat driving a car, rather than seamlessly controlling her original body. This is a problem that troubles Erik and Charles.

However, Constantine is a maverick. Among magicians, he is known for his unconventional ways, as he doesn't study inherited magic knowledge. He has his own magic system, which, regardless of its performance or underlying principles, strays from the realm of magic and is closer to the omnipotent power of creation.

Take his use of ash avatars, for example—they are not simple illusions. Each body truly exists, yet also doesn't exist in reality by specializing certain magic energy, transforming it into another layer of cosmic power that, upon manifestation, nearly no detection instruments or people can perceive.

This is why he can jump around in front of Magneto without Matthew being able to catch his avatars.

Yet these avatars contain all of Constantine's power, or rather, they are Constantine, parts of his projection. He can transfer his body and soul to the avatars at any time. Through this blend of reality and illusion, Constantine manages to stay alive while being chased by so many devils.

This technology can also be used to create a body for Anya. Essentially, the body isn't created but is a projection based on deeper cosmic power.

As for how Constantine figured out the deep cosmic powers here, Shiller didn't know. Given his familiarity with this universe's superheroes, he clearly wasn't here for the first time, probably researching these things long ago.

Shiller initially wanted to agree with "trash is a misplaced resource," but Constantine then demonstrated what "trash should stay where trash belongs" meant.

Upon entering Earth, Constantine immediately headed to the New York Temple, intending to study the books there. When Shiller learned of this, he finally breathed a sigh of relief but also felt a vague disappointment. Constantine not causing trouble greatly reduced his workload, yet not causing trouble means no dying, barely anyone can accept him living to return home in glory.

After roughly a morning of reading, Constantine began experimenting. Of course, he tried summoning a Demon God first. Calling it a summon isn't accurate; it's more like giving Demon God a call. Despite the magic defense network, a precise number allows the call.

Constantine first called Mephisto, but Mephisto might have been busy filming movies, missing the call, thus escaping a predicament. Next, he tried the Deep Red and Dark Dimension Lords, but these two brothers might have been asleep, and no one answered his calls.

He then called Emperor Mount Wey, who answered. However, being a cosmic figure with widespread influence, Constantine couldn't fool them with his telecom fraud, and they promptly rejected his deal. He even called the Temple of Eternity, but Eternity had not returned yet, avoiding a few Demon Lords of Mayhem.

Constantine was biting his teeth. In his universe, he was popular—for every call, many would line up to answer. Even if the calls were answered with loud curses, it at least meant he was important.

In this universe, none of these Major Demons were diligent, not even answering calls. Did they genuinely have such strong crisis awareness, knowing his ill-intentions, thus intentionally hiding?

Constantine scrolled through the phone book for a while and ultimately locked onto a name—Great Shadow Cision.

Initially, Constantine didn't choose him because the guy didn't seem very strong. Despite being described as a "chaotic power owner" in the notes, Constantine used his rich experience to infer that the more fundamental the represented power, the less it could be meddled with, or else the Universe administrators would teach a lesson, easily causing a cosmic reboot.

However, his priority targets didn't answer, so Constantine had no choice but to pinch his nose and call Xeseon. The so-called Great Shadow guy had a good attitude, immediately conveying willingness to cooperate, ready to send someone to discuss.

Guarding the temple gate, Shiller felt both "just as expected" relief and "you're done for" schadenfreude upon seeing Wanda, yet seeing JARVIS behind Wanda brought some uncertainty.

Generally speaking, if you make fun of Wanda, she won't take it to heart. To be precise, Wanda is the kind of person who prefers to avoid unnecessary troubles. As long as it's not challenging her bottom line, she won't mind too much. However, Miss Witch has another trait, which is that she will never allow anyone to harm her friends and family.

In other words, Shiller isn't worried about Constantine teasing Wanda; he's worried about Constantine teasing Jarvis and getting killed by Wanda.

But since this is business, Shiller doesn't have a reason to stop them. Wanda seemed to be in a good mood as she greeted him and then went inside.

Inside, Constantine was fiddling with a magic array. As he looked up, he saw a particularly beautiful red-haired lady. She had flaming red long hair, a gentle face, and a voluptuous figure, radiant like the Virgin Mary descending into the world.

"Wow," Constantine exclaimed.

Then, right after, a silver-haired man walked in. His features were like the most exquisite sculpture human beings could design, brimming with an inorganic beauty from machinery. His red eyes had a slight mechanical pattern, and as they moved slightly, they exuded a distinctly different vitality.

"...Wow!" Constantine exclaimed louder.

Wanda didn't recognize who he was, but Jarvis had already scanned his data. Amidst that data, which couldn't pass a single sentence through an adult content filter, Jarvis quickly pieced together Constantine's flamboyant life story.

He quickly reached out to stop Wanda, who was about to walk forward, and said, "He's a mage, be careful."

Wanda didn't quite understand. She nodded and said, "Of course, he's obviously a mage; otherwise, how could he appear in the Sanctum and even call Xeseon?"

"Okay, let me rephrase. He's a mental patient, and also a drug addict with over 20 years of smoking, who could kill a mole pup with every 1.3 breaths he coughs out."

Wanda swiftly retreated to the entrance of the Temple, gently covering her belly. As a pregnant woman, she had to resolutely stay away from such sources of pollution.

"Why did you call my wife?" Jarvis squinted and asked.

"Your wife?" Constantine was a bit stunned, then said, "Oh, so she's actually transgender? I mean, of course, of course, I'm not biased, but can transgender people get pregnant?"

"The demon god you contacted shares the same power source as my wife. If there's anything, just tell me directly."

Constantine finally realized, then said, "Scarlet Witch, right? Sorry, your wife is quite different from most Scarlet Witches in this universes here. How should I put it? They mostly seem weary and sad, while your wife is a bit too radiant."

Jarvis's expression softened for a moment. Now it was Wanda's turn to tug at him. Jarvis cleared his throat and asked, "What do you want with Xeseon?"

"I need a bit of power. Don't get me wrong, it's not for myself. You should know Magneto's youngest daughter, right? Professor X contacted me to help customize a body for Anya, but this process is a bit complex. I need some energy for experimentation and to actually carry it out. Can you lend me some power?"

Jarvis opened his mouth. He didn't think Constantine would lie about this because contacting Professor X was too easy, and the consequences of deceiving Magneto and Professor X were too serious, no fool would attempt it. Since Constantine dared to take on this job, he must have confidence.

However, Jarvis was acutely aware of the difficulty of this task. Many super-geniuses here couldn't solve it, yet Constantine claimed confidently that he could. Could it be that an outsider does have the knack?

While Jarvis was still hesitating, Constantine continued, "You must be curious why someone like me would suddenly help a little girl. To be honest, this can definitely be considered helpful, as there's little benefit for me. After all, Batman's task for me was merely to get some energy, and what I obtained from trading at the Holy Sanctuary was more than enough."

"However, in the past, I encountered such a situation a long time ago—I've almost forgotten. There was a demon in some theater, and a little girl cried to me for help, but I couldn't save her. I'm not someone overflowing with sympathy; I can't even remember what that little girl looked like. But if this scenario replayed, I'd choose to save her because it's no trouble for me now, just a little effort. The same goes for Anya. I'm quite willing to do a good deed when it's not too troublesome, just as an investment for the future."

These words were honest, straightforward, and sincere, indeed leaving no room for criticism. And when Jarvis turned his head, he saw Wanda's sympathetic eyes, though he couldn't tell if they were due to Constantine's experience or the unfortunate little girl he mentioned.

Jarvis couldn't help but cover his eyes. Wanda's maternal instinct was usually a good thing, but right now, maybe not so much.
