Chapter 5103 - Chapter 4151: MU: Super Body Major Event (191)

Thus, it can be inferred: the less logical a dream is, the more chaotic and crazed it is, the more likely people within it will awaken and realize they are dreaming. In this way, it's actually easier to break through.

This idea is indeed clever, but it's very difficult to execute in practice. Because madness is also a kind of talent, not just anyone can do it. One could even say, a well-timed madman is harder to find than a well-ordered good person.

Society itself is orderly, and orderly societies more easily cultivate orderly people. To turn oneself into someone completely heedless of order in an orderly society requires extreme self-awareness and abundant inspiration, even artistic traits within the soul.

Listening to this description, it's as if it were tailor-made for the Joker. But alas, the Joker is too evil; he can never face the Multiverse's enemies with the selflessness of a superhero. He just wants to play games with Batman.

Even though there's Jack and Clown Hero, these two are far from enough. Even if the slightly more awake pale knight and Phoenix Joker are brought over, it's still insufficient. Because these people have too low combat power and can't handle enemies at Nightmare Darkseid's level, altogether they couldn't handle the size of Darkseid's punching fists.

However, the Multiverse is also full of talent, even under such harsh conditions, a team can still be found.

The first is Greed, who can be said to be perfectly mad, and his madness is practically untainted by morbidity and evil. Although sometimes he likes to create a big scene quietly and excels at making others have no choice, on the Nightmare Dimension, this isn't considered a big deal. He's truly the best choice for the task.

Then there's Bruce, who can also be considered a wide-thinking nutcase, with Batman-like intelligence but even more flexible and erratic thought. It's really hard to figure him out because his chaotic and unordered manner easily gives rise to absurd dreamscapes.

Next is Evil God Batman, who used to be Little Bruce. The power he holds actually fuses Nyarlathotep's chaos and Barbados' power of darkness, neither the complete blind folly of Outer Gods nor the evil and nothingness of the power of darkness. He has found a perfect balance, keeping himself from being contaminated by Outer Gods or controlled by Barbados while maintaining Batman's wisdom. Even though the tentacles are a bit much, it's no problem.

There's also Constantine from Shiller's universe, who appears to be captured by Nyarlathotep to write books, but in reality, being able to compose Outer God scriptures proves he's in a state of lucid madness. Not mad enough, you couldn't write such forbidden knowledge-filled text; not lucid enough, you couldn't be alive after writing them.

The team configuration is complete enough, with combat abilities online and brains sufficient to handle various bizarre situations. But after entering the Nightmare Dimension for a few hours they retreated, clearly unsuccessful.

Greed shook his head upon returning to the command center and said: "Madness and chaos may help us wake up quickly, but they also give it the power to produce monsters. For instance, it concocted a heap of morbidity in my dream, chasing me everywhere in heaven and earth, I almost got sliced into chips."

"I had pretty much the same experience," Bruce shook his head and said, "That bastard dumped me into my own dissertation, the phrases I wrote were chasing me down, even plucking a few feathers from my wings."

The experiences recounted by the others were similar: the higher the degree of chaos in the dream, the more likely various crazy and powerful monsters will be generated. The monster's appearance and attributes are utterly illogical, making it impossible to have any targeted measures; just escaping the pursuit is arduous enough, let alone counterattacking.

Now everyone is truly a bit numb. This power of nightmare is exceedingly troublesome: if you reason with it, it concocts an intensely realistic dream, preventing you from waking up; if you deliberately disrupt order, it can use the disorder of dreams to produce illogical monsters. Isn't this a blockade from both ends?

"I think our approach is wrong again," said the agent, "We shouldn't be thinking about entering the Nightmare Dimension and finding Darkseid, but rather how to resolve the Nightmare Dimension."

"What do you mean…"

"Entering the power of nightmare is essentially entering the dragon's mouth. It's just that the people we found are competent enough to fight, thus allowing some to escape amid the chaos. If it devours one or two, then it'll be even more troublesome. Since we can't break through from inside, we should apply pressure from the outside. While brute force can't solve the problem, it can solve the very issue itself."

"The current problem is, the power of nightmare itself is the fusion of two origin powers, and among us, the highest fusion is two origin powers, at most equal in level to it, no power surpasses it, which means we can't suppress it, otherwise we wouldn't be watching as the power of nightmare expands."

"But we have not just one strong two-power fusion, right? If we let so many fusion powers attack the Nightmare Dimension simultaneously, wouldn't it be effective?"

The agent's idea indeed gave Primary Universe Batman some inspiration: they don't possess power higher than Nightmare Darkseid, but they do have many forces of equal rank. The newly fused Hal, Evil God Batman who inherently has two types of power, and many others of equal single power levels: Manhattan Batman, Super Body, Scarlet Witch, etc. With so many origin powers combined, could they not break through the Nightmare Dimension?

"This matter requires careful planning," said Primary Universe Batman, "We only have one chance; if it fails and the opponent discovers our plan, they may choose to temporarily avoid confrontation. Once they run, the Multiverse will have no more days of peace."

The expressions on the other people's faces were also grave; they were well aware: Nightmare Darkseid was now allowing the Power of Nightmare to expand in revenge against Primary Universe Batman, giving them a chance to deal with him.

However, once he awakens from his hatred and realizes that they are also formidable opponents, he might decide on a strategic retreat, hide to accumulate strength, and rise again another day. That would mean a ticking time bomb buried deep in the cosmos, ready to explode at any moment, leaving them in constant fear.

Considering that this guy is not from their world, he might return to the other side, putting two worlds on edge together.

If he got a bit more despicable and didn't go for a large-scale invasion but instead kept harassing with the Power of Nightmare, both Great Worlds would know no peace.

"The frontal attack cannot stop," Primary Universe Batman said, "We can't let him realize we're breaking through from the outside; we need to infiltrate like before, making him think we're looking for him in the Nightmare Dimension, so he lets his guard down."

"The frontline troops are insufficient," Nick said, "Even though superheroes from other multiverses are arriving, entering the Nightmare Dimension is like sending them to their doom. If they're devoured by the Nightmare Dimension, strengthening Darkseid's power, the external breakthrough becomes even harder."

Primary Universe Batman was also aware that their forces weren't enough. No matter how many superheroes there are, they're not enough for the Nightmare Dimension's appetite. Darkseid obtaining their power is a trivial matter, but the death of so many would incite resentment, making cleanup a daunting task.

Right now, they need a wave of frontal troops, preferably intelligent creatures capable of dreaming, ideally humans, to avoid arousing Darkseid's suspicion.

Primary Universe Batman was thinking, but then saw Greed and Nick whispering. Greed was evidently persuading Nick, who seemed a bit reluctant.

Primary Universe Batman stood still, knowing that Greed was adept at leaving people with no choice. Since he was persuading, Nick had no option but to cooperate.

Sure enough, Nick soon came out, saying, "I do have a batch of people who might be of use. If not to achieve significant results, at least to deceive Darkseid."

Primary Universe Batman looked at him.

"Previously, by chance, I discovered the principle of forming 'ghosts,' which is actually a kind of mutated brainwave. After humans die, brainwaves that don't completely dissipate can be preserved under the influence of certain special magnetic fields, forming ghost-like entities. They partially retain memories and intelligence from life, but sometimes become excessively angry, some even aggressive. This is the truth behind most paranormal events on Earth."

The others felt a chill up their spines, but Primary Universe Batman immediately realized something and asked, "Can you mass-produce ghosts now?"

"Uh, not exactly. I just thought, since they're dead anyway, instead of letting them become aggressive ghosts, I might as well guide them to be my employees, eliminating the need for salary and vacation..."

Greed elbowed him hard. Nick quickly cleared his throat and said, "So I did some small research in this area and eventually found a suitable magnetic field. Some incomplete brainwaves, under this magnetic field, can undergo suitable mutations, turning them into ghosts that can be guided."

"And then make them work for free?"

"No, no, this thing didn't pass the ethics review, so they can't work for me yet. Moreover, although they can be produced, because they're made from the brainwaves of death row inmates, these ghosts aren't very rational and can't handle complex tasks, mostly just scare people. I thought maybe they could be used to deceive the Power of Nightmare."

Primary Universe Batman nodded and said, "From our previous explorations, we can see that Nightmare Darkseid's main focus should be on the multiverse now; he should be exploring the multiverse here and hasn't acted against us. So, if we send some ghosts over, he might only see it as our new trick, not thinking we've given up exploration, making it possible to deceive him."

Greed also nodded, having already obtained intelligence from Eternity: Indeed, Nightmare Darkseid was currently roving through the multiverse.

After all, having ascended to a Multi-universe Level existence, it's impossible not to be curious about the multiverse. Confident in his strength, even though he wants to deal with Primary Universe Batman, he would still take time to explore the multiverse, perhaps searching for greater strength within the multiverse.

Many abstract entities in the multiverse have noticed this newcomer, but as Darkseid hasn't shown aggressive behavior, they haven't interfered. However, soon, he might encounter local gods, and perhaps then would be an opportunity.
