After approximately half an hour of exploration, Su Xiao roughly understood the situation on the outskirts of Atoner's Highlands. The outermost slum area was a free zone, without guards, filled with thieves and robbers, and even the trafficking of intelligent races was quite common.
Not all residents of Atoner's Highlands are strong; over 80% of the inhabitants here have little to no combat effectiveness. The mixed-blood among various races is severe. Clearly, these residents were born in Atoner's Highlands; in the dangerous Black Abyss, they have no choice, as Atoner's Highlands is their only place of survival.
The outermost residents are not only very poor but also extremely cheap laborers, occupying almost more than four-fifths of Atoner's Highlands. The remaining less than one-fifth makes up its outskirts, central courtyard, and central district.
