Alex was surprised by Solomon's remark. People usually said they were similar.
"What do you mean?" Alex asked.
"You are more of a scoundrel than your father," Solomon said with a laugh.
Alex felt his veins pop.
"Sir, that is slander, you know."
"Just call me Solomon. You call it slander?
When you cannot win, you just destroy the board."
Alex cursed in his heart. He wanted to say, "You are the one cheating first." He knew better than to say it out loud.
"That is because the board is old, Solomon," Alex said with a forced smile.
"Yeah, sorry, it is old, forgive me. I am quite old too, so my memory is not good," Solomon said in a sarcastic tone.
If the president of the association had a bad memory, what about the others, Alex thought.
Solomon looked at Alex's expression and chuckled again. He could easily guess how Alex felt.
"Do not take it in a bad way, Alex," Solomon said. "A pure, honest man will not be able to lead a big organization.
Only those crooked like you can."
