AVALANCE noticed it right away.

Each shot carried a small spell structure that triggered on impact. Piercing rounds for armor seams. Disruptive rounds for joints. Explosive rounds for clusters.
A heavy shadow moved across the dust.
A giant robot, five times the size of an average human, stepped out from behind a broken mining tower.
Its armor was thick, layered like a fortress. Scars covered its frame, deep grooves and melted cuts that showed it had survived too many battles.
One shoulder was dented inward. One arm had been rebuilt with uneven plates.
