The fire fox took it head-on.

The tail slammed into its shoulder, and white flame exploded outward. The fox was pushed back, claws carving trenches, but it did not break apart.

Alex started sending more lifeforce into the rune on the fox's body.
The rune star shone green.
Alex then drew a rune in the air and shot it toward Saryx.
