Path T2-316, half an hour after the contact with the stationed defense forces.
Half an hour, that was how long the battle had been going. That felt like a long time, didn't it? But actually, a better description would be that the battle had been going for a long, very long half an hour. Because that was how that short period of time became, now stretched by tension, overdriven focus, and the despairing reality that life was hanging in the balance, and any mistake, any sudden lapse in focus, any bad choice, decision or reaction, then it would be the avalanche that would snuff it all out.
A battlefield was not a recess courtyard. It never was and it never would be, not for the sound-minded, not for those wanting to live out their lifespan.
