The sea angel, making its return, screeches in anger.
"Krrriiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!"
"It seems the sea angel didn't like my gift, huh? Whatever, get inside," Rihito dismissed the sea angel's presence.
"I'm going to teleport; make some distance." Everyone nods and boards. Afterwards, the submarine moves away from the temple. I looked at the ceiling; water was pouring in. This place was becoming dangerous as the water level was rising.
After glancing around, the sea angel immediately recognised me and headed straight for me.
"Krrriiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!"
With an angry shriek, the water all around us began to spin, trapping us on this floor in a vortex.
"Krriiiiii!!!!"
"Quite proud of yourself, aren't you? Trapping us." Rihito stood on the submarine's hull. Rihito grinned and said, "Anyway, too bad for you; it's all useless. See ya." Rihito teleported out of the labyrinth, disappearing along with the submarine.
The sea angel, unable to detect its prey any longer, let out a furious shriek, frustrated that its prey had escaped once more.
"Krrriiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!"
At this moment, nobody knew what the sea angel was thinking; it looked up, its jelly-like body trembling with rage.
…
Finally, out of the labyrinth, everyone relaxed.
"We are finally out," Shizuku sighed, relaxing in her chair.
"We are finally done with this labyrinth; then this leaves three more, right?" Shea asked.
"Yes, there is one in Divine Mountain. The other one is at the Sea of Trees, and finally, the Frost Caverns of Schnee." Yue listed the remaining labyrinths.
"So, which one are we going for next?" Tio looked at Hajime with questions.
"Before that, we're all going to have a training arc." Rihito stepped inside the cabin.
Everyone's expressions varied as they gazed at Rihito.
Hajime and Yue, processing those words, had an expression full of dread.
Shizuku looked at him with a blank face, showing no emotion. It was almost as if she accepted her fate.
Shea, Tohru, Kaori, and Tio were intrigued and interested, unaware of the terror awaiting them.
"Oi, Rihito, we don't have time for that. We need to hurry and gather all the other ancient magic. We are already strong enough," Hajime hurriedly tried to convince Rihito, sweat pouring down his back.
Yue, too, nodded along with him. "Yeah, that's right. There is no need to go through that hell... I mean, you're training. We can just train as we normally do, right?"
Rihito paused briefly, contemplating the situation they were about to face. From what he remembered at the end of Season 2, the Heiligh Kingdom had been invaded by demons led by Freid. Meanwhile, Eri had attacked the kingdom from within. During this chaos, Hajime fought against an Apostle who overwhelmed him with both speed and power. He only survived thanks to his artefacts and the girls' help. If everything unfolds as in the anime, Rihito should be able to handle the situation.
However, that would only have happened if everything had followed the anime's storyline. Unlike Anime, Fried is no longer under that god's control. I destroyed that castle and defeated one of the Apostles. There's no way that God couldn't have noticed my presence. Changes are inevitable. Who knows? What the damn god might do? That God might send multiple apostles after us.
Except for me, Tohru, and Hajime, the others aren't strong enough. Yue, Shea, and Tio might be able to stall them, but defeating them is impossible.
[Yeah, the training is definitely necessary, especially for Shizuku and Kaori,] Rihito decided.
Rihito, disregarding their protest, continued, "Our next target is The Divine Mountain. That location serves as the stronghold for the fanatics of the gods. There's no way that damned god won't try to interfere. Because of this, we need to prepare."
My gaze settled on Shizuku and Kaori.
"You two have acquired the ancient magic, and before we move on to our next target, you need to learn how to use it properly. If you can't manage that, I am not allowing you two to join us."
My gaze then landed on the disgruntled duo of Hajime and Yue. "As for you two, first, Hajime, you need to master
"Yue, you need to do more physical training. I've seen you lazing around quite a bit over the past few months." Hearing my words, Yue's expression changed to that of someone witnessing the end of the world.
"B-but I am a mage; I don't need physical training. With magic, I can deal with anything," Yue tried to convince him. But…
Rihito completely ignored her and looked at Shea, Tohru, and Tio.
"Shea, you need to increase your hammer proficiency and start properly using the ancient magic."
"Ok," Shea responded. She was eager to improve, and as long as Rihito was helping her, she was happy to train as much as he wanted.
"Tohru, you need some anger management training. Anger blinds you. You should learn how to stay calm even if it irritates you."
"Okay," Tohru said, looking a bit downcast.
"And finally, Tio, you are doing well; you just need to improve your overall abilities."
"I see. I will try my best, but can I ask Master to train me?" she asked, giving a side-eye to a distressed Hajime.
"Sure."
After considering what I had pointed out, nobody could argue. Even if they wanted to, Rihito stood there, staring them down, whether they wanted to disagree or not. He would force them to train if necessary.
With a disgruntled sigh, Hajime said, "Fine, if you are willing to be that forceful about it, then I have no choice but to agree."
Alright, it is confirmed then; from next month onward, we will stay in Erisen to train until I decide that everyone is ready." He cast a sharp look at everyone.
"Am I clear?"
"..."
…
After returning to Erisen, everyone decided to take five days off before starting the training. At first, I was against the idea, arguing that two days would be enough. However, the rest of the group disagreed with me, singled me out, and ultimately forced me to accept their decision.
"Fine," he agreed. Normally, he would have still disagreed, but he had a promise to keep, so he thought it would be a good idea.
That same night, Rihito was thinking about the date he promised the girls. Who should he take on a date first? It was a question he had no answer to. Because no matter who he chooses, someone's feelings will be hurt.
"Ugh," Rihito scratched his head in frustration. Cursing those damn harem protagonists—how do they easily manage their girls without conflicts? Should he also start acting oblivious and nonchalant until everything fixes itself? Like those protagonists.
"Hmmm…" he thought for a moment and shook his head in denial.
"Naa," that's not my style. It will be better for me to talk with them directly.
"Yeah, that's what I should do."
Just then, he heard a commotion outside, as all three girls barged into my room.
"Rihito,"
"Master."
"..."
"When are you taking us on a date?" Shea asked the question.
Seeing their impatient look, I answered with a troubled expression, "Well, about that, I was just wondering who to take first."
"..."
"..."
Hearing those words, all three girls exchanged glances, communicating with their eyes, and nodded at the same time.
"..."
Rihito was speechless, seeing that they could communicate with their eyes. What kind of skill is that?
"Stone," Shea.
"Paper," Shizuku.
"Scissor." Tohru.
And just like that, the order was decided, or so I thought…
"Papa, it's dinner time; let's go." Myu ran onto my lap.
"Fufufu… Quite a lively conversation is going on here. Mind if I also join in?"
"..."
Shea, Shizuku, and Tohru looked at each other, again communicating with their eyes.
[Seriously, what skill is that?]
"Papa, are we going somewhere?" Myu looked at me with excitement.
"Ara, I don't mind being the last one to go." She looked at everyone with a smile.
"Ok, then first will be me, then Shea, then Tohru, and finally Remia," Shizuku announced.
Shizuku turned to face me. "Tomorrow morning, around 10, don't be late."
