Chapter 158: Federal Bureau of Hunters
______________________________________________________________________
- Lalatina -
Lalatina's grin lingered long after Hinata stumbled away down the corridor. The balance she always held, the precision, all of it was not present in Hinata at the moment.
She straightened up, brushing a curl of her hair away from her cheek, her lips still wet from biting at them during her own voyeurism.
Oh, the sight of Hinata was absolutely delicious for Lalatina. Not because she was particularly interested in her, but because she knew her Master would enjoy Hinata. And as his creature, it was her duty to satisfy her Master to the best of her ability, even if it was by using others.
From her perspective, Hinata was an absolute contradiction of an individual, making it tough to unravel her.
She acted like a proud knight most of the time, and yet Lalatina just saw her on her knees, shaking like she knew nothing else and wanted for nothing else.
That image would burn in Lalatina's mind for quite some time to come; Hinata's composure completely stripped away to show a trembling, needy girl who would break and kneel with the right touch.
It's so unlike how Hinata was back when she had handedly defeated her centuries ago. It would be quite the perfect revenge to push her further into her Master's embrace. Of course, that was only a secondary motivation.
Still, it was an amusing sight for a Daemon like her. A True Hero like her acting like that? Though it was to be expected of the man she had devoted her soul to. He could even crack Hinata's cold exterior.
And it wasn't lust that made Lalatina shiver at the thought, but pride and devotion.
Lalatina's lips quirked up as she sensed the emptiness of their current home. Hinata had just run off, and Megumin had also run off already. Her Master had forgotten to place a barrier which was unusual for him, but it worked in her favor this time. What better gift to her Master than to give him a True Hero?
She imagined presenting Hinata to him like a wrapped treasure, the moment when he would look at her with that glimmer of approval that made Lalatina's chest swell and her cunt throb at once. She wanted that look again, wanted to feel the sting of his hand in her hair as he told her she'd done well.
Though that would be a work in progress, perhaps she should gift him somebody else to satisfy him in the meantime?
She slid closer to the door, crouching where Hinata had been only moments before, and peered through the crack.
The Aura inside was still sufficing the area, and she had willingly sucked all of her Master's Love Energy in, allowing it to taint her further. She was quite literally addicted to him at this point, and wouldn't have it any other way.
"Aahhnn~! Felix, harder, don't stop!" Luminous' voice rang out, high-pitched and begging. Lalatina shivered, her thighs pressed together, the raw need she felt was overwhelming. "Yeshh~! There~!"
She kneeled there for a moment, listening to the sound of skin slapping, and the wet squelch of Luminous' cunt being driven into.
She could feel her hard nipples press against her brassiere as she leaked like a faucet.
"Mmm, Master…" She whispered, her own voice barely audible as she pressed her forehead to the door. She didn't need to rub herself the way Hinata had, her body obeyed him without needing permission, heat surging just from watching.
Her Spirit was already reshaped to hunger for his dominance, to crave the pleasure his mere voice brought her, to desire the weight of his hand on top of her, and the knowledge that every one of her moans was for him.
After a few moments she decided. She stood up, opened the door, and walked into the room of her Master's and Luminous' debauchery.
Her Master's eyes immediately snapped to her. "Oh, Lalatina?" He grunted out as he didn't stop his thrusting. He barely regarded her for a moment. "Come here and get down on your knees."
The command was processed in an instant. Her legs trembled and her cunt clenched. The sudden rush of wetness soaked through her panties and nearly ran down her thighs.
She could feel her panties soak through from those mere words. "Yes, Master~!"
- Adam White -
Adam had been waiting for the Director of the Federal Bureau of Hunters to call him in. He was here to give his report on the man who had caused so much chaos and confusion across the world: Felix.
He was sent to invite the man to the International Guild Conference, but it was equally important, if not more so, that he also build a personality profile on him. The Federal Bureau of Hunters did so on every single Hunter that was capable of mass destruction. It made them possible to manage and mitigate.
They were the ones primarily responsible for calculating the threat levels of the various nations in the world based on the strength the Hunters of those nations possessed. Times truly had changed. They had moved on from using military might to measure a nation's power. Now the newest weapon had taken the spotlight: Hunters.
Of course, most Hunters didn't officially work for the government, but that didn't change anything in the end. They were associated with the nation and that was enough. Not to mention almost all Guilds held contracts with the government, so should a government call on a Guild's aid, they were usually required to provide assistance.
What the Director Go Gunhee did with not requiring participation from each Guild whenever ordered was merely a kind gesture on his part, nothing more.
So here he was, on a Sunday, ready to work like a dog again. At least he was paid well and could eat whatever he wanted on the government's dime. And generally, he could enjoy all of his hobbies during his free time. It was only during chaotic times like these that he didn't actually have much free time unfortunately, but you win some, you lose some.
He continued to patiently wait outside for the Director to call him in so he could give his report.
The current Director was David Brennon, a normal Human all things considered if you ignored his intelligence and willpower to get things done. You had to be a little crazy to manage the Hunters of one of the strongest nations of the world, all without even being a Hunter in the first place.
"Come in, Adam."
He opened the door to his Director's office and walked in.
"Thank you for waiting to give me your report, Adam." The Director sighed. "I've been incredibly busy, especially with what those buffoons did. Capturing the apparent Demon Lord that even our best failed to defeat? Truly some imbeciles have risen far too high in the hierarchy." The Director said with a sigh, and Adam agreed, though he wouldn't voice his opinion.
He had heard about that situation. He hadn't been here to help manage it as it wasn't even his job to. He was a mere branch manager who had been entrusted with too much work. He had only just arrived back to his home country due to flight delays.
Some pink haired girl calling herself a Demon Lord had shown up during the S Rank Gate outbreak here in the United States.
Her companion essentially helped one-shot the Gate, apparently freezing all the monsters coming out of it. And then, the so-called Demon Lord fought Thomas Andre to a standstill. Though it was clear that she wasn't going all out. She did not even have a scratch on her, whereas Thomas looked as if he were about to keel over in the video, which was a sight to see.
Essentially, she appeared, caused chaos, and then left like nothing happened. All because she was too strong to actually do anything to or question. Such was the nature of their world now; if you were strong, you were right.
He personally disliked it, but he was weak, and so he was wrong.
Even one of their so-called heroes, Christopher Reed, was a sack of shit all things considered. He enjoyed all the privileges that came with his status; a nice, fancy mansion, riches beyond most, women, and more. And yet when the time came for him to fight for his country, he refused.
He rejected when they requested his help with the S Rank Gates appearing. It was a relief that Thomas was enough to handle everything.
Reed continued to ride on the legacy of his past success and nothing more.
He hated it, but there was nothing he nor anyone else could do about it, as despite Reed's attitude, he was still a bonafide National Hunter. No one could truly stand against one without losing much. National Hunters were considered to be single individuals with the power of an entire nation's military. That was why they were labeled as National Hunters in the first place.
Then, after all that, some executive in the government had clearly ordered the so-called Demon Lord's capture as a threat to national security.
Of course, that didn't go well. Thankfully, Thomas had intervened, and in his own words told them to "fuck off", which prevented any escalation from the Demon Lord. As despite their orders, no agent wanted to be on the bad side of Thomas Andre.
Now Adam's worry was if this pink-haired Demon Lord was associated with Felix. Two people with overwhelming power popping up at the same time was a rather large coincidence. But the biggest give away was the "Demon Lord" shtick the both of them shared.
He wasn't certain, but he still believed there was some association between the two of them.
The Director looked exhausted at this point. Adam empathized with him, but he would rather be caught dead than take up a higher up leadership position, like the ones he had been offered in the main headquarters.
"So, what do you have to say?" The Director asked as he reached into the candy bowl on his desk, and pulled out a blue jolly rancher. "But first, do you want one?"
Adam nodded. "A red one please."
"Hmm, good taste." He said as he threw the jolly rancher.
Adam caught it, unwrapped it, and threw it in his mouth. He sighed as he relaxed a bit.
"So, tell me about him? Don't hold a thing back."
"Hmm, he wasn't very guarded against me, and a lot of his personality was visible in how he acted, though it is possible that that itself is the act." After a moment he continued. "He is flippant, arrogant, though I suppose in his case it could be said to be confidence, not arrogance. His primary motive seems to be his own enjoyment. That is what I got from my own observation and what the Director of the Korean Hunters' Association told me."
"Like Thomas then." The Director stated.
"I believe that they share some similarities, at least. I also do not believe that he is inherently malicious, nor does Director Go Gunhee. I do not know his origins beyond what the world at large is aware of, and I doubt he would inform me of them, but he simply seems to be going with the flow of things."
"That's not a whole lot to work off of then in case he becomes a rogue element." The Director hummed.
Adam just shrugged. There was only so much he could do and ask of beings that could crush him with a flick. The Director would have to deal with the fact that the information they possessed was lacking on Felix at this point.
Most other Hunters had numerous background checks that could be run on them, easily allowing the Federal Bureau of Hunters to have access to someone's complete history prior to becoming a Hunter.
Then, with their team of Psychologists and Psychiatrists, they could generally make a personality profile that would be mostly accurate. With Felix, that wasn't an option as he clearly did not originate from this world, something those so-called Monarchs confirmed through the stream, and something that Go Gunhee also told him.
"He is not the only powerful force that he associated with. I witnessed one of his 'subordnates'," He said with air quotes, as he didn't know how or why someone as strong as that woman was a mere subordinate. That likely signified Felix was even more monstrous than they could have imagined, "completely defeated and stonewalled a powerful S Rank Hunter."
"Which Hunter?" The Director asked.
"Their new rising star, Sung Jin-Woo."
"Oh? The one responsible for resolving the Jeju Island fiasco then, at least until those beings showed up. He did seem to be rather strong. Thomas was confident he could do what he did with even less effort, however. Still, that is a powerful subordinate then." The Director hummed.
"Felix described her as just "playing around, as if she was slapping Hunter Sung around." He added helpfully.
The Director sighed. "Of course. This job is truly never easy."
"I hope you understand why I continue to refuse, then." He most certainly didn't want to be in another situation in which he had to rely on someone else's grace for the mere purpose of surviving as he had to when watching that fight between Hunter Sung and his subordinate.
That Haki thing was bullshit.
"Oh, I most certainly do. Doesn't mean a man can't hope. What else then?"
"I don't have much more details about Felix himself. There was only so much I could do."
The Director nodded. "I understand, and about Thomas' invitation?"
They had used Thomas as an easy excuse to invite Felix to the International Guild Conference without making it seem too political. Thomas had agreed to use one of his guest invitations on their behalf to invite Felix, with the excuse that he was interested in meeting Felix, which of course he was. Anyone strong caught that beast's interest.
"He accepted. I have already arranged a tour for when he arrives."
"Good, perhaps it will be possible to show off our good side to him to make him more cooperative." The Director mused.
"He did seem to appreciate a certain level of straight forwardness, so I believe that is the best method to approach him."
"Your opinion is noted."
"Director Go Gunhee asked me to pass a message to you as well. He stated that someone was targeting the National Hunters and to merely keep an eye out."
The Director raised a brow. "How would he know about such a thing?"
Adam shrugged helplessly. "How should I know? Maybe Felix told him? It's hard to know just how much he may or may not know."
After a moment the Director nodded. "Hmm."
Before they could continue there was a knock on the door. "Sir, Thomas Andre is here."
The Director sighed. "Bring him in."
Adam could tell that this was not a planned meeting.
After a moment the door opened, and in came the strongest Hunter in the world. Of course, he had a scowl on his face, which didn't signify good news for them.
"The hell was that shit, David?!" Thomas asked immediately, before the assistant could even leave the room. Adam was surprised that Thomas hadn't begun throwing things around yet. He could be rather… annoying to deal with when angry, and unfortunately Adam was too used to dealing with the #01 Hunter.
The Director looked to the assistant. "Thank you, Sarah. You may leave."
She quickly bowed and then practically ran out of the room, not that Adam blamed her. He wished he could do the same.
"Would you please clarify what you are referring to, Thomas?" The Director asked patiently.
"Oh don't give me that bullshit, whose skull do I need to smash? It's been a long time since I've had federal agents pull up on me and a new friend of mine."
So he considered this Demon Lord a friend then.
The Director sighed. "I do not know who ordered such a thing, but trust me when I tell you I want whoever did order it out of power as soon as possible as well. Such actions were foolish and threatened this very country."
Thomas crossed his arms as he let some of his anger cool off. "You don't know who did it?"
"Unfortunately, no. Whoever ordered it did so through multiple channels, complex enough that even the people involved weren't aware they were being strung to someone's will. We were even able to detect some sort of hypnosis power with an artifact on the people involved, so it may not even be someone in the government responsible."
Thomas clicked his tongue.
"Now that you know that we were not involved, do you mind telling us what you think of that so-called Demon Lord?" The Director asked politely.
Thomas grinned, and usually that meant bad news for anyone involved. "Ghaha, she's great! She may look like a pipsqueek but she's got some power in her!"
The Director didn't seem to be as excited about Thomas' statement as the man himself was.
The Director sighed. "Anything else?"
"Eh, I guess. She said she came to this "world" thanks to a friend of hers. I think we can all connect the dots at this point." Thomas said.
"So she is also associated with this Felix then." The Director mused before looking towards Adam. "Did the man himself say anything about this Demon Lord?"
Adam shook his head. "No, but I did not ask either. There is something else too…"
The Director raised a brow. "Oh?"
"The pink-haired one may not be the only Demon Lord other than Felix. One of his subordinates fought Hunter Sung Jin-Woo." He explained for Thomas' own clarity. "During this, Felix described an ability his subordinate used as Demon Lord's Haki." He shared.
He imagined that the ability was named as such for a reason.
Thomas' and the Director's eyes widened.
"So there are more Demon Lords here then!?" The Director yelled in a rare loss of composure.
Adam nodded. "I believe that is the case."
"How strong was the one you faced, Thomas?" The Director asked.
"You saw the videos yourself." He said with a shrug. "I wasn't going all out, but she was trying far less than I was, I could tell that much."
The Director let his face fall into his hands. "If each of those so-called Demon Lords are possibly as strong as you then… I thought you said you would be able to handle what happened on Jeju Island easily?" The Director asked.
Thomas shrugged. "And I stand by that statement. That Ant King was weak as shit. As for those so-called Monarchs that guy Felix fought, well who knows how that would go? They didn't show off a whole lot of raw power. Based on that, I was confident in beating them, but maybe there's more to it."
Despite how Thomas looked, he could actually be rather intelligent and tactical when it mattered. His analytical ability seemed to be hyper-specialized in combat oriented situations, however.
After a moment he continued. "I've been getting a niggling feeling in the back of my head that things aren't as they seem." After a moment of tense silence he continued. "Ghaha, it seems times are getting interesting!" Thomas laughed carelessly.
"Do you not understand how serious this is, Thomas!?" The Director snapped.
"Don't worry. If those people wanted to cause trouble, they'd have no reason to play whatever long game you're suspecting of them. The strong have no need to bother with that." Thomas stated with certainty, and Adam agreed with him.
"That guy accepted the invitation right?" Thomas asked.
Adam nodded. "He did."
Thomas grinned. "Great, I can finally meet him then. Liu Zhigang was also telling me he wanted a spar! Ghaha! Maybe I'll get to see Milim again too and get a rematch!"
That sounded like a problem waiting to happen. It wasn't often that Thomas was this happy. It seems being at the top for so long had worn the man down, and now he was like a child on a sugar high who couldn't wait for his next play date.
Oh well. He'd calm down eventually. Similar things had happened before.
The Director sighed. "There's nothing that can be done at this point, I suppose."
Thomas turned around towards the door. "Take care of your matters. If that kind of shit happens again, I'll be tearing some heads."
The Director calmly nodded, already used to Thomas' threats. "Please do wait a moment."
Thomas paused but didn't turn around.
"Do you remember the situation with Hunter Hwang Dongsoo?"
Thomas turned around. "What about it?"
"The man he seemed to want to go after is a high priority individual and will be showing up at the International Guild Conference. Will there be any problems?"
Thomas' eyes narrowed, and Adam wouldn't lie, he felt his heart stop for a moment at those cold eyes.
"Oh? Did my cooperation make you think I was beholden to you? My people will do whatever the hell they want so long as I'm cool with it."
Adam could read between the lines. The things he wasn't "cool" with wouldn't happen. And in this case, he'd like to think that Thomas wasn't "cool" with whatever idiotic strategy Dwang Dongsoo had planned, as he certainly hadn't let it go.
Adam had seen the man after the man they believed to be Hunter Sung Jin-Woo's father decimating him. And the look in his eyes, it was not the look of a man who was willing to let things be.
"I see. I apologize, then." The Director said, taking a step back metaphorically.
"With that sorted out, I believe we can move on. If you would like to remain to hear this, I do not mind Thomas. It has to do with what I asked Norma Sellen."
Thomas seemed to get more interested with that statement. Norma Sellen was one of the only known psychics in the world, and she was one even before the advent of Gates.
The power she displayed prior to Gates showing up was a form of precognition. She could see into the future through dreams and visions, and for the most part all her predictions had come true. She was a strategic asset of the United States, and was widely respected.
Her power that awakened was just as absurd. Normally Hunters could not increase the amount of mana they possessed, but somehow she could artificially increase a hunter's power beyond their natural limit by about 20-30% of their original level of strength.
It was a difficult process with multiple stages, but it was still an absurd power. It was one they even used to poach Hunters from other countries. Nothing appealed more to Hunters than more power.
"What did she have to say?" Thomas asked curiosity.
The Director sighed. "She already had an outlined prediction, one kept top secret and must remain top secret." After a moment he continued. "She had already foreseen a world-wide battle, one that would shake the very foundations of our society. Between who, she did not know, and even the odds of victory were slim, though that seemed to have changed as of a couple months ago."
Adam felt like this was way above his paycheck.
Thomas raised a brow. "Hoh, that sounds interesting."
"This prediction changed after the incident on Jeju Island. Norma came to me and told me she received another vision. One in which winged people descended from the sky, an army greater than any on this planet. She mentioned the man at their head, a man with 12 wings who was looking down at this world as if it were nothing. She stated that they were attackers from another universe, and that they would be our doom." The Director said grimly.
Adam blinked to process what he had heard; that they were doomed according to Norma.
"She mentioned that she could feel the future was in heavy flux, and that events would likely continue to change, and she believed this all changed due to something that happened during the Jeju Island incident. But not all hope is lost. She stated that while the threats that plague our world have grown by multiple magnitudes due to this change, and that even though now at this moment various factions are moving to weaken Earth, that Earth would survive so long as certain conditions are met."
Thomas hadn't said anything yet, which was uncharacteristic of him. Instead he merely seemed to be thoughtful.
"One of these conditions is making sure that Felix White remains in a positive relationship with not just us, but this entire world, as he very well may be the key to dealing with whatever threats lurk around." The Director shared.
Adam's legs shook as he collapsed backwards onto his chair. "This is a lot."
The Director nodded. "It is indeed."
Thomas broke the silence, his grin back on his face. "Hah! So that's what the hag had to say huh? That makes me want to see what this Felix is like even more. Her predictions haven't been wrong before. He's gotta be one hell of a person for her to have such confidence about him; she's never even said the same about me! Ghahaha!"
"I wish you would take this more seriously, but I suppose this is enough." The Director said with a sigh. The Director leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers. "That's why this conference is critical. If the world fractures before this… invasion occurs, then we're already finished. This Felix may not care much for politics according to you, Adam, but every faction on Earth is going to want to use him, claim him, or get rid of him entirely. We cannot allow that to happen."
"Ugh, what a pain." Adam said.
"You will be remaining as his point of contact, Adam." The Director ordered.
"Of course I am." He mumbled.
"It will be your job to keep him happy whilst he is here for the conference, and perhaps probe his opinion on various things if you feel yourself able."
"Sir, yes sir." Adam responded with a sigh.
"You'll receive a hefty bonus when this is all done." The Director said.
He couldn't bring himself to be happy about it this time.
Thomas finally chuckled again. "Seems you all got things under control. Let me know when the guy is set to fly in." Thomas said as he turned around and waved.
- Felix -
"Leaving then?" I asked as I took a bite of the sandwich Lalatina made for me.
I had planned to see if Hinata had any questions about anything she was working on such as spiritron manipulation or something else since we had the free time, but it seems I wouldn't get the chance to do so, at least not right now.
Luminous had told me that Hinata was working on attempting to create an attack with a lot of energy output so she could take out her stronger foes in one-shot. Something like my Hollow Purple, essentially.
Though I hadn't used Hollow Purple at all, really. Mostly because it was overkill. It was still one of my highest output attacks, excluding Metatron's shenanigans. Hollow Purple at this point could straight up warp the Information of anything it touches, making it an Infon level attack.
Luminous nodded. "Indeed. Hinata desires to visit Japan first to visit the person that she Blessed, someone she claims has potential."
I nodded. "Hmm." Hinata blessing someone wasn't something I expected. I'm pretty sure that would be her first Blessing too, though I haven't Blessed many people either.
Despite me winning our "battle" in the bedroom, the normal relationship between Luminous and I hadn't changed.
She may have been temporarily "mind broken" as I'd like to call it, even though saying that was a stretch, but even then I'm certain she'd try to pull the same crap again, except this time she would try something else instead of a lust aura through Asmodeus.
I was looking forward to it, if I were to be honest. Why should I develop a bunch of hentai applications of Lover when Luminous could do it for me, then use it on me, hopefully fail, and then I copy it and use it back on her.
Now that's efficiency.
Plus, in that state, Luminous was great. The submissiveness she tended not to show came out and was a treat to experience, it was different from Lalatina's own shade of masochism, as despite her desire to submit to me once she was beaten, and her enjoyment of pain, she was still vocal about her own desires and what she wanted me to do.
Then of course Lalatina joined in too, which made things even more interesting for me. Lalatina was always a fun one in bed, mostly because she selflessly wholeheartedly desired my own pleasure and love over anything else. That didn't mean I was entirely a selfish lover with her, but she actually preferred it if I prioritized myself over her, though I still made sure to leave her in a comatose state post coitus.
It had also been a couple days since Hinata cleared the S Rank Gate and cleared Legia. Apparently, Legia wasn't even sealed when she turned up. She could see the chains he was sealed in (which she brought back with her), but he himself was no longer in them; he was weaker due to the effects of being sealed for so long.
Though I did notice that Hinata was being a bit odd. Whenever we spoke, I found that she was always a bit embarrassed, or whenever I was talking with someone else, she would stare at me, but then look away when I turned to look at her.
Total crazy woman behavior, which actually fit Hinata. She was a bit crazy in the head, though not in a bad way. We were all a bit crazy. We had to be to reach where we were now.
Then there was Lalatina, who normally didn't interact with Hinata much. That was completely fine, but that had changed over the last couple of days. Lalatina kept sending smug glances at Hinata, which seemed to embarrass and enrage Hinata further.
I wasn't dense. I was focused on Luminous during our love making, but I could pick up context clues. At least most of the time I could.
My guess was that she caught Luminous and I, and now was just embarrassed about it. Nothing major, in my opinion, since I was the one who forgot to place any barriers, so that was on me. Nothing for her to be embarrassed about.
"I can elaborate if you wish?" Othinus' amused voice echoed in my head.
'Oh? Is there more to it then?'
"Fufufu, you could say that I suppose."
'In that case, I'll just leave it at that.'
I didn't want to breach Hinata's privacy if something happened. So long as it wasn't a danger to her or anyone else, she could deal with it as a grown woman.
"Well let me know if you need anything on your trip. Make sure to enjoy yourself. There are quite a few interesting sights in this world, and the food is great."
Luminous nodded. "Indeed. I have also found that the meals prepared here have a larger variety."
The quality of meat was of course lesser for the most part. What's an A5 Wagyu to the meat of an Arch Dragon? Which may have seemed odd, since an Arch Dragon was supposed to be strong, and therefore muscled, meaning less fat which is what made a large majority of meats so delicious. I just chawked it up to magic bullshit and enjoyed my Dragon steak.
After a moment Hinata arrived. "I am ready, Luminous."
Luminous raised a brow. "Is that so? Let us leave then."
Hinata gave me an embarrassed smile before nodding.
"I'll keep the stuffed animal with me, don't you worry."
My comment brought a smile to Hinata's face. "I will rely on you then."
With that, Luminous created a portal leading to Japan and stepped through it, followed by Hinata.
"Mou, I was having fun with her too." Lalatina whined as she showed up.
I could ask Lalatina what she was talking about, but in the end, if it was important, she would tell me. I'd let her play her games. She needed to get enjoyment in this world somehow, at least.
Milim appeared on the couch. "Aww, did they leave?"
"They did." I nodded.
Milim had gotten back a few hours after her fight with Thomas had ended. Apparently, they just talked a bit, she gave him some tips, and then he took her to his favorite ice cream shop because she asked.
It was a rather amusing turn of events, but I was glad she was enjoying herself and making some new friends.
"Do you want to come with me to the International Guild Conference, Milim?"
"Ooh? Are there going to be fun people there?" She asked.
I shrugged. "Maybe? I have no clue to be honest. I just plan to show up and tell them what's going on so they stop sitting on their hands. Then we can go do whatever."
"Hmm, okay I'll come then!" She said after a moment.
"Good then. Have you been enjoying yourself so far?" I asked.
Milim eagerly nodded. "Umu, I have! I got to meet Sirka, and try good food!"
"That's good then. Are you still interested in making sweets as a hobby?"
Milim pursed her lips. "I'm more interested in eating them! But I'll try making them too!"
"Fair enough." I chuckled. "Did you have fun with that Thomas guy?" I asked. I hadn't gotten a chance to ask her about what she did in the United States after her fight.
"Hmm, he was pretty fun!" Milim said with a nod. "He seemed to think I was a baddie at first, so I beat him up! Then he realized that if I wanted to destroy a bunch of stuff, I already would have! And then we became friends!"
"That's about what I expected."
"Ooh! Some meanies in suits came and started being stupid too! Before I could hit them with my Milim Punch, Thomas shooed them away!"
I raised a brow. Now that I was not expecting, though expecting every American agent to be as reasonable as Adam was probably foolish from the start.
"Well at least you had fun, I guess. Since you saw him in person, how strong was Thomas?"
He was always implied to be one of the more successful and compatible Ruler vessels, matched or only slightly surpassing China's #01 Hunter, Liu Zhigang, and only being surpassed by Jin-Woo's father. Which itself wasn't much of a fair comparison since the guy had been training for his role for who knows how long with the time difference between worlds.
"Hmm, he was about one and a half Clayman's strong!" Milim said with a nod.
I smiled at Milim's comparison. "I see." 450,000 EP then, and that likely wasn't his full power either.
"Anyways, after I meet with those Rulers, you want to come with me to see some of the other dimensions in this universe?"
"Ooh! Which ones!?"
"I was thinking the one where the souls of the dead go. Apparently, they have some interesting stuff there, and then maybe we can visit whatever constitutes as the realm of demons for this universe since I know for a fact that demons do exist."
I wasn't too interested in the demons' dimension. I don't recall anyone particularly interesting, but a story can only cover so much, so that's why I was willing to take a trip there, even though I wasn't expecting a whole lot.
The dimension that Jin-Woo beat the copy of the old Demon King, and Monarch of White Flames, Baran, was only a temporary dimension where tons of kidnapped demons were sent to serve as fodder for Jin-Woo, so that wasn't the real demon realm.
"It's a promise then!" Milim said with a grin.
"Mhmm, see if you want to get more information about that realm from Sirka." We only knew the bare basics about it.
Milim shook her head. "Nah, let's keep it a surprise! Sirka can come along, right?"
I shrugged. "Sure, that makes it easier. She can show us around and tell us about the place."
Milim nodded. "Umu!"

Author's Note:
Sup everyone, back with another chapter of Daemon. We get some insight into Lalatina, and she's just being herself lol. I wonder who she's planning to "gift" to Felix? I've been having that in mind for a long time so I'm curious if anyone can guess.
Then we get to see what's going on in some other portions of the world, and what they are doing to account for these changes.
Felix decides to ignore Hinata's oddities, as he usually does to be honest. That's gonna be a fun plot point to develop later down the line.
Next chapter is the meeting with the rulers. Thanks for reading, peace!
Thanks to @Salante and @Flowerman for beta'ing this chapter.
