Third person POV
"Oh, that went quick…" Reo added another comment.
"Should we appear in court?" Saki asked in concern.
"Yes, we should clear our names," Sha responded.
Hoshi then nodded. "Yes, don't worry, Sha-sensei, Bokuto-kun, Taro-kun, and I were only involved in the death of the killer, and nothing else other than that.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court in Manila received the case files from the NBI regarding the LRT Depot Murders case and were shocked on how it was solved by unethical means by them. It also revealed how Hoshi, Bokuto, Taro, and Sha were involved in this and what their contributions were to its solving. At the same time, Simon sent a letter of recommendation to the jury, stating that they should do a trial to clear the name of those who were involved in the case, including NBI agent Croix Salazar and one of his acquaintances, a Filipino Japanese, Nara City native named Hoshi Santos. Furthermore, the news spread of the case spread like wildfire in just hours through live TV and social media. Many social media users showed different reactions; some were shocked and happy that the case was solved, while others were skeptical on the NBI's ethical practices. Also, as for Eduardo's home and assets, they were confiscated by the NBI. They had filtered out whatever is helpful for Eduardo's case, and the rest would be auctioned off to pay compensation to the families of his 79 victims. The amount will be massive but doable within a day with a big auction event to do so.
And so, by 9:10 a.m., the court was in session. Croix and the NBI agents and superiors who got involved in the case were being called to the court for that case. They didn't literally get arrested, but technically, with only a show with handcuffs involved and files of the case taken to court. And, just as Croix had predicted, Hoshi and his 3 friends were needed for the trial, so they went there by car, which was provided by the government. Mariya went along with them as support for them. Saki and the rest remained in the hotel watching the trial on TV and social media online. At the same time, many of the loved ones and acquaintances of the LRT Depot Murders had gathered in front of the Supreme Court in protest and petition; they, who most of them also happened to see Hoshi's post last night, wanted the court to clear the names of those who were involved in the case and acquit them of their crimes.
They also argued that what they did to solve the case was to finally solve it regardless of how they would solve it.
The committee on human rights had a say on it, but the people's voice for their acquittal seemed to be louder than the committee's criticism. And so, the trial was on, with Hoshi, Sha, Taro, and Bokuto sitting down next to Croix, Mario, and their team as accused. The rest are in their seats. Mariya was one row behind her younger brother's. The Chief Justice struck the gavel twice and started the trial with a summary of the case.
