Chapter 980 - Chapter 980: Taking Action

Upon arriving at Rodeo Drive, Matthew dropped off Margot Robbie and quickly headed to Burbank. Before he even left Beverly Hills, he made phone calls to Helen Herman and Amanda, then dialed David Ellison's number.

By the time he arrived at the Angel Agency offices, Helen Herman, Amanda, and David Ellison were already waiting in a conference room.

"Sorry to keep you waiting." Matthew pulled out a chair, sat down, and took the glass of water Helen Herman handed him, placing it on the table. He got straight to the point. "Ronan Farrow just called me. He's finished compiling everything and has at least five key pieces of evidence."

David Ellison looked intrigued. "Is it starting?" He smiled. "Matthew, I've been waiting for this for a long time."

If it hadn't been for Harvey Weinstein's interference, the Hunting Bin Laden project he and Megan had invested in wouldn't have been delayed until now.

Helen Herman glanced at Amanda. "What about Bob Weinstein?"

"No major issues," Amanda said after some thought. "But it's better to wait a bit longer. I'm working on finding an opportunity to meet with Bob Weinstein."

Matthew had already considered the situation on the way over. "I also need to go to New York to meet Ronan Farrow. This isn't the best time to act yet."

David Ellison, a bit impatient, asked, "When would be the right time?"

Instead of answering directly, Matthew posed a question. "When is Harvey Weinstein at his most high-profile and flamboyant during the year?"

Amanda and Helen Herman exchanged a glance, understanding Matthew's implication.

"Are you saying…" David Ellison, a longtime friend and collaborator with Matthew, caught on quickly. His eyes lit up. "The awards season?"

Matthew nodded slightly. "Exactly. My plan is to strike Harvey Weinstein at his most triumphant moment during the awards season."

David Ellison expressed full confidence in Matthew. "Alright."

Amanda reminded them, "It's best to wait until I've made contact with Bob Weinstein."

Helen Herman, well aware of Harvey Weinstein's power in Hollywood, agreed. "I'll go to New York with you to review the evidence Ronan Farrow has collected."

"That works." Matthew slowly turned the glass of water in his hand. "We'll leave tomorrow."

Helen Herman glanced at Amanda. "Are you coming along?"

"I might as well," Amanda replied.

Helen Herman picked up the phone and instructed her assistant to book plane tickets.

Once Helen had finished her call, Matthew lowered his voice slightly. "We'll finalize the details of the plan after we return from New York."

"Got it." David Ellison reminded Matthew, "Make sure to call me when the time comes. I've had enough of Harvey Weinstein."

He still remembered how unpleasant his initial encounters with Harvey Weinstein had been. On top of that, Harvey's elaborate scheme against Matthew only fueled his anger. Matthew had spotted the trap, but if he hadn't? The mere thought of the potential fallout left David infuriated.

His father had once taken on Bill Gates. As the son, if he couldn't even deal with Harvey Weinstein, wouldn't that be embarrassing?

Everyone had their own packed schedules and didn't linger at the Angel Agency. Matthew and David Ellison left first.

"Who would've thought Matthew actually got himself a girlfriend?" Amanda still found it hard to believe.

Helen Herman adjusted her glasses. "He nearly died twice, and the person by his side both times was Margot Robbie. That probably had an impact."

Amanda nodded lightly. "Surviving a near-death experience might have been the catalyst for Matthew's change."

"Most likely," Helen said softly. "In fact, he started changing even before the accident. His mindset was off. At one point, I thought he might become unstable, but now he seems much better."

She sighed quietly. "Having a steady girlfriend and a normal relationship has stabilized him."

Back then, she had considered suggesting he see a psychologist.

Amanda turned to Helen. "But why Margot Robbie?"

"Don't you think it's a perfect match?" Helen replied calmly. "A playboy and a party girl—a match made in heaven."

Meanwhile, as Matthew and David descended to the second floor and walked toward the exit, their conversation shifted to the film they had recently decided to invest in.

"By the way, I haven't thanked you yet," David said with a smile. "That project you introduced to me seems promising. Megan has decided to make it a future Oscar contender."

Matthew shook his head. "No need for thanks between us."

David nodded slightly. "Rest assured, I won't hold back with you." He added, "You've seen the project. Do you have any suggestions?"

Without Matthew's involvement, David always felt a bit uncertain.

Matthew thought for a moment. "Hire a Black director and a Black producer. Build a strong, high-profile Black cast."

In the current cultural climate, a Black-led production had an undeniable edge.

David, no novice in the industry, immediately grasped Matthew's point. "Good idea."

The two stepped out of the building, waved goodbye, and headed to their respective cars.

While riding in his car, Matthew called Margot Robbie. She was still shopping on Rodeo Drive. Knowing it would take her a while, he directed his driver to Century City to meet Bella Anderson and pick up information on private jets.

"I've reviewed many manufacturers' materials," Bella said in her office, handing him a stack of documents. "I also looked into customer reviews. I recommend focusing on Gulfstream and Boeing models."

"Forget Boeing," Matthew said after some thought.

A recent issue with a Boeing aircraft had left him less than impressed.

Gulfstream, on the other hand, was a renowned manufacturer of luxury, large-scale private jets, headquartered in Georgia and owned by aerospace giant General Dynamics.

Matthew skimmed through the documents and focused on Gulfstream's flagship models, the G550 and G650. The G650 particularly caught his attention.

Widely regarded as one of the most advanced business jets, the G650 boasted a longer, wider cabin capable of seating 18 passengers comfortably. It featured cutting-edge entertainment options, including satellite phones and wireless internet, ensuring a rich in-flight experience.

It was also one of the largest, fastest, and most versatile private jets on the market—and one of the priciest, with a base model starting at around $60 million. Maintenance and crew costs would only add to that.

Matthew closed the file and told Bella, "Contact Gulfstream and arrange a tour. I'd like to see their models in person."

With his current wealth and earning potential, even the most expensive G650 wouldn't be a burden.

"Understood," Bella replied. "I'll call them today and follow up with an official email."

Matthew nodded. Owning a private jet was no longer a novelty, but Gulfstream's G650 had long waiting lists. Orders could take years to fulfill.

The thought of flying piqued his interest. Perhaps he could get a pilot's license? Many Hollywood stars, including Harrison Ford, had one. Ford frequently piloted his own plane around Southern California—though not without mishaps.

Recalling news of Ford's near-crash, Matthew dismissed the idea. Safety was paramount.

After spending the rest of the day in the office, Matthew headed to Rodeo Drive, where he found Margot Robbie. They returned to the Horner estate together, officially making it half hers.

Feelings were unpredictable. Even Matthew and Margot couldn't guarantee how long their relationship would last.

In today's world, breakups and reconciliations were all too common.

The next day, Matthew, Amanda, and Helen flew to New York, where they spent several days working independently.

Matthew and Helen reviewed Ronan Farrow's evidence and confirmed its damning nature.

Meanwhile, Amanda secured a meeting with Bob Weinstein, who appeared eager to reclaim what his brother had taken over the past two decades.
