At this moment, the powerful figures from the Dark Dimension heard Robert's words, but they didn't react. This was their tactic, or perhaps it was simply the natural order among dimensions, where the weak have no right to decide their own fate in the presence of the strong.
The lives of these Dark Dimension beings were firmly controlled by the Dark Lord. Now, as they faced Robert, their lives were also held in the hands of even stronger forces. They had no choice but to fight Robert, even though his power severely restrained them. Even if death awaited, they couldn't escape.
However, it had to be said that their sacrifice was worthwhile. As the chaotic battle began, many Dark Dimension warriors were injured or killed, but they succeeded in keeping Robert busy and depleted many of the Avengers' special weapons. At the same time, many Avengers were running low on energy.
More importantly, as the battle grew more intense, the vampires and werewolves joined the fray, including Morbius and Blade. Blade wasn't too much of a threat—his strength was one of the weakest in the Avengers. Even with his vast experience hunting vampires and the support of anti-Dark Dimension gear, his combat power wasn't stronger than the specialized mechs, and he was certainly no match for the likes of Steve.
Morbius, on the other hand, was different. He was one of the few Avengers whose power had steadily increased without encountering bottlenecks. His current strength put him among the upper ranks of the Avengers. So, despite knowing the Dark Dimension invaders had targeted him, Morbius had no intention of retreating or hiding. He fought valiantly, slaughtering those who had turned him into the monster he was now.
Of course, Morbius had his own agenda. His powers originated from the Dark Dimension, and though they had mutated into a flawless ability, these invaders might possess ways to help him enhance his strength further. Morbius wanted to explore that possibility.
After all, his current strength was sufficient, but what if the next invasion wasn't from the Dark Dimension? Without ways to counter the enemy, his strength would be inadequate.
Thus, even though Morbius hadn't hit a ceiling yet, who wouldn't want to find faster ways to grow stronger?
"The primary target has appeared! He's the perfect specimen, even more perfect than what the Lord had predicted!" As Morbius displayed his full power, the Dark Dimension's hidden forces locked onto him. They quietly communicated among themselves, planning their move.
"What about the secondary target? He's also quite perfect, and he carries traces of Earth's human aura. He seems to be the perfect fusion of vampire and human. If we capture him, we might gain insight into Earth's unique powers…" Blade had also drawn their attention, though his situation was less urgent, and the Dark Dimension invaders couldn't move against him just yet.
"The auras of those vampires and werewolves seem to have changed. They appear more refined. Normally, using those weapons would harm them, but now they can wield them without issue. They must have undergone some sort of enhancement!" Another Dark Dimension warrior pointed out, noticing the unusual changes in the werewolves and vampires.
"It seems that Earth has not only found a way to counter our weaknesses but has also figured out how to correct our flaws. While they haven't perfected those vampires and werewolves, they have made significant progress."
"Should we also capture the person responsible for this research? Could it be that 'Iron Man'?" someone speculated.
"Enough! Focus on one target. If we keep getting distracted, we won't be able to capture anyone!" At this moment, the first-tier Dark Dimension forces finally spoke up, issuing a command. "Shift the battlefield toward the primary target. Sacrifice as many as you must. We will handle the rest ourselves!"
"Yes!" The Dark Dimension warriors complied, unable to argue against their superiors. They began moving toward Morbius, sacrificing themselves to pave the way and distract the Avengers.
"Hmm?" Clark, who had been concealing his strength, noticed the sudden shift in the Dark Dimension's strategy. His eyes immediately locked onto their movements.
Although Clark couldn't directly gauge the strength of these Dark Dimension warriors, he understood that the ones who had died so far were cannon fodder. Their current actions surely had a deeper purpose.
"Morbius!" Clark quickly identified their target.
A group of Dark Dimension warriors was sneaking closer to Morbius, while another group was using their lives to lure him into a trap.
"Perfect! When they strike, it'll be my turn," Clark thought as he glanced at Blade and the other vampires and werewolves. His lips curled slightly, and a gleam of anticipation flashed in his eyes.
Clark had hidden his strength precisely to catch the enemy off guard.
"Attack!" As Clark observed, the Dark Dimension warriors approached Morbius and suddenly unleashed their full power. Even the anti-Dark Dimension devices Morbius carried couldn't completely suppress their aura because there were simply too many of them, and their strength was overwhelming.
"Not good!" Morbius immediately sensed something was wrong. He tried to resist or flee, but it was already too late.
Morbius was incredibly fast—faster even than Barry Allen or Pietro at this point. Yet despite his speed, he couldn't escape the trap the Dark Dimension had meticulously set for him.
"Crack!" To prevent any chance of Morbius escaping, one of the Dark Dimension warriors willingly injured himself to destroy the specialized equipment Morbius carried.
With his gear shattered, the anti-Dark Dimension forces still affected the invaders, but they could now forcefully capture Morbius.
"Well done!" The Dark Lord's eyes lit up as he watched this unfold, but then his expression darkened. "Wait! Didn't the memory of Grant and the others mention another Kryptonian? There's only the female Kryptonian here. Where is the more powerful one? Hmm?! This isn't good!"
Just as the Dark Lord sensed something amiss, a formidable force grabbed Morbius and pulled him toward the Moonlit Path.
"Whoom!" Suddenly, a powerful presence descended upon the battlefield. The Dark Dimension warriors felt as if a sun had appeared near them, and the light-based power weakened them to the extreme. It was as if their bodies were being set on fire, their energy turning to ash and dispersing into the air.
"What is this?!" The Dark Dimension warriors looked around in fear, unable to understand what was happening. They could feel that this force was far more oppressive than Robert's light-based attacks. The mere presence of this energy had drained them of most of their combat power!
"This feels like the Kryptonian woman's power, but it's much stronger! Who is it?" One of the Dark Dimension warriors muttered, referring to Kara. Although her and Clark's powers came from the same source, the gap in strength was vast.
Sensing Clark's immense power, the Dark Dimension warriors unleashed their full strength. They knew that if they didn't give it their all, they would surely die.
"It's a pity. If you weren't so restrained, your strength could indeed wreak havoc on Earth. If your goal was to destroy the planet, no one here could stop you…" Clark hovered in front of Morbius, glancing at the Dark Dimension warriors with a sigh.
As the first-tier Dark Dimension warriors unleashed their full power, Clark could feel that some of them weren't much weaker than himself, and a few even exerted considerable pressure on him.
It wasn't that Clark doubted his chances of victory, but he knew that without the power to restrain these invaders, he could at best hold off one of them. The rest of the Dark Dimension warriors would be unstoppable.
This was the true strength of a dimension, where god-like beings weren't uncommon. But unfortunately for them, the Dark Dimension had its flaws, and Clark had the power to exploit them.
Clark's ability to suppress them was far beyond Tony Stark's anti-Dark Dimension gear, which merely boosted damage, weakened healing, and reduced enemy effectiveness.
Though those were significant advantages, they paled compared to Clark's absolute suppression. Just like Robert, who could effortlessly crush enemies of similar strength, Clark rendered his opponents powerless, unable to put up any resistance.
This absolute suppression turned what would have been an even match into a one-sided massacre.
Of course, if the Dark Dimension didn't have such inherent weaknesses, they wouldn't be so desperate to fix them. They had no idea Earth could muster so many methods to counter them...
"Pfft!" In an instant, Clark made his move, and a second-tier Dark Dimension warrior was incinerated, reduced to nothing but ash.
The first-tier warriors managed to hold out a bit longer, but it was clear that breaking through Clark's suppression was impossible. Even escaping his domain was out of the question.
Morbius, now free, nodded to Clark in acknowledgment before leaving his side. He quickly returned to Tony Stark to re-equip and then rejoined the battle against the Dark Dimension invaders.
As Morbius moved away, many Dark Dimension warriors stared enviously at his retreating figure. They weren't thinking about capturing him anymore; instead, they envied him.
Though Morbius's power was weak, he had achieved the perfect form they had always sought. If they had Morbius's flawless form, unaffected by Clark's suppression, they could still fight, even if they were weaker than Clark...
It wasn't just the warriors near Clark who felt this way. Those trapped by Robert shared the same sense of frustration and helplessness. This bitter emotion spread through the Dark Lord as well, darkening his expression...
