Matthew frowned. "What makes you think that, Father? Why do you think the world could change?" he asked.
His father sighed. "Looking back in time, we have always discovered that there had to be a beginning to existence. To life. Now we know that the thing from which you inherit a legacy, the Origin, is what started us. But then I ask you, has any other civilization existed before ours?"
"None." Matthew's answer was immediate; it was common knowledge.
Many people have tried to travel to different worlds in search of other races, civilizations, or at least some other form of life, but there is nothing. It is strange. The world seems to have nothing out there. There is only life in this corner of the universe, and the rest is just a bunch of stars, galaxies, and planets.
Why was that?
