After receiving a call from his mother, Huang Xiaojue hurried home to find the table laden with a sumptuous spread. His father was reading the newspaper while his mother busied herself setting out bowls and chopsticks. On seeing him return, she immediately called out to her husband, "Our son is back! Wash your hands quickly, let's eat."
Looking at the abundance of dishes, Huang Xiaojue laughed. "Mom, what's the special occasion today that you've prepared so much food?"
"You work so hard, I just wanted to make sure you eat well. Is that not okay?"
"Mom, you're the best."
Once Huang Xiaojue had mostly finished eating, his mother finally asked, "Did you buy a house, Xiaojue?"
"I almost forgot…" Huang Xiaojue laughed. "Mom, I bought a townhouse in the southern suburbs. It'll be ready next month. I'm going to need your and Dad's help with the renovation."
"How large is it?"
"Over two hundred and eighty square meters."
