When the hot tea arrived, she couldn't sit any longer. She stood up and said, "Mr. Wan, I should go home now."
He meticulously toyed with the key to the safe. "It's getting late, Xixi," he said, his voice low. "You should go freshen up and rest."
Unable to bear it any longer, she turned and walked away.
He pulled her back again, his gaze red-hot, his voice searing, "Xixi, I won't let you leave me!"
She closed her eyes in despair. This time, she struggled with all her might to break free, yet in the next moment, she found herself collapsing into his arms. He completely lost control, swept her up, and strode towards the stairs.
This sudden assault almost broke her. For him, however, it was the beginning of a grand feast. Her snow-white face, flushed crimson with anger and fear, resembled a rose suddenly blossoming under the sun. It was a sight so stunning it nearly made him lose his composure.
"Xixi... Xixi..."
