A scholar encountering a soldier has no way of explaining things; he couldn't be bothered to explain so much to her. Since she had already decided it was him, why waste more words?
It was pitch black and made her feel unsafe. Valentine Teller took out her phone, flipped it open, and finally, there was a sliver of light in front of her.
She suddenly remembered she hadn't texted Turstin Muller to let him know she was safe. Fortunately, her phone had a signal, so she quickly sent him a message to prevent him from worrying.
Just after she sent the message, Mark Reed leaned in.
"Did you send him a text?"
Mark Reed asked knowingly, only because he felt uncomfortable.
"Yes! Is that not allowed?"
Valentine Teller stepped back a few paces, trying to get as far away as possible from him.
"Sure, that's your freedom!"
He also took out his phone and sent a long message, full of everything he wanted to say, each sentence coming from the bottom of his heart.
