Chapter 32 - Chapter 23 - A Devil vs Two Exorcists

Kazumi POV

"They're really going at it." Surprisingly, Kiba was holding out very well. Although he created a field of swords from his sacred gear. He mainly used the two items I gave him.

Windtalker and Blade of the Heptaseas. The latter blade was swapped from the Demon Hunter Sword. The effects are as follows:

[+70 Physical Attack

+250 HP

Unique Attribute: +15 Physical Penetration

Unique Passive - Ambush: If no damage is taken or dealt within 5 seconds, the next Basic Attack will deal an additional 160 (+40% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage and slow the target by 40% for 1.5 seconds]

The new weapon I gave him was perfect for his role. If Kiba was the knight, specializing in speed, and if I used the hero classification then he would be a Fighter/Assassin.

Although lost the attack speed the DHS provided but in exchange he gained more attack power.

And then there's the story behind the Blade of the Heptaseas or BotH, where it cut anything like butter but that theory was proven false. Could it be that Kiba was lacking in power to truly awaken this blade?

"Yuuto is holding out pretty well..." Rias was proud. I was also proud.

He's using the items pretty well. Because of the added speed by the Windtalker, he was dodging their every attack. And although he swings his sword, those were merely faints. After five seconds, he would strike them.

"But if the fight drags along too much..." Akeno was worried.

"Kiba is utilizing what he learned but his anger is holding him back." I commented. Sure, Irina and Xenovia were surprised at first, but now they're matching his movements.

Knowing his patterns, they would deflect his blade to the ground every 5th second and continue their relentless assault after that. Though it was mostly Xenovia who had done the deflection. When her Excalibur Destruction hits the ground, it leaves a crater. With Kiba taking damage during that counter, his 5 seconds time also resets.

"Alright that's enough." I stood between them all, holding out my own sword against the Excalibur Destruction, my left hand holding Kiba's Windtalker, and six of my wings blocking Excalibur Mimic, while the other six were hidden away.

To be honest, it kinda stings.

"...Get out of the way, Kazumi-kun. Even if it's you or Buchou, I won't yield until I destroy those weapons!" Kiba replied, gritting his teeth. His resolve is great however, he's too weak. He definitely needs power up.

"You had a strong start, I won't deny that. However, the more the fight dragged on, the less your chance of winning had become. Your winning ace is your speed, if you can't win fast enough, then you'll slowly lose."

Kiba gritted his teeth, not backing down. With my left hand, I swiftly knocked him out. "Sleep for now. I'll let Rias deal with you."

I tossed him to Rias and they caught him carefully.

"You two. Although you were taken by surprise, you were able to recover. But you spent too much time reading your opponent. If Kiba was in his right mind, you would have lost." I said to the blue short haired girl who was staring daggers at me. Then I turned to Irina. "Now you Irina. Not only you were slow in recovering but also spent too much time in praying. I understand that it's important and also part of your faith but remember your life is on the line."

"...Thanks for the advice." Though her words were full of gratefulness, her way of replying was rather rude.

"Thank you, Kazumi-kun!" Irina happily replied. I guess she valued our time together to consider my advice. "Goodbye!"

'Haaah.' I sighed. Well thanks to Kiba I was able to gauge their strength. I'll leave the rest to Rias.

"Rias, I'll be going first! I need to take care of something!" I shouted.

"Let's meet later at home!"

~°~°~°~

"Now then, should I just leave this here?" I asked myself. Looking at their clothes, I decided to leave the bento there.

When I came home, I asked Kaa-san to cook for two people. I also told her they might really be hungry. Taking the food she cooked, I went around in Kuou looking for them. It took a while but using my devil form to locate the "disgusting" feeling, I quickly found their location.

And well, with their base as the abandoned old church, it wasn't really that hard to find I guess.

"I think it's better if I just leave this here." I placed down not only the food but some money as well. It won't be enough to buy another fake painting of a saint but should be good enough for a few meals.

I was about to leave when I heard footsteps walking towards me.

"Yosh, let's accept donations! You're so smart, Xenovia!"

"Tomorrow, first thing in the morning–"

Standing here, I realized they were still naked. Their bodies glistened under the moonlight. With the light bouncing off their body, the shadows revealed their trained muscles and curves.

Well their clothes are here in front of me. I admit, it was kind of my fault. I didn't leave fast enough.

"I got caught, huh?"

~°~°~°~

"Your mother's cooking is good!"

"I missed Auntie's cooking!"

"You two just ate dinner with us yesterday, why are you two acting like you haven't eaten for a week?"

"Upholding our faith requires a lot of energy and money."

"So, Irina did something troublesome?"

"*HICCUP*!" Irina choked down on her food. I already knew what she did but witnessing it in person was different.

I grabbed the water cup filled with water and handed it to her. "Here."

"Th–Thanks!" Irina quickly gulped the water down.

~°~°~°~

"So, what brings you to us?" Xenovia asked, not noticing the rice stuck on her cheek.

"Let me wipe that for you." Irina took a towel and cleaned her face.

"Not a even a single thanks? Are you sure we're the devils?" Even kids, a believer or not, knows how to say thank you. "I can't leave you two to your devices. Itsuki and Okaa-san was also worried."

"Eh? You're worried about us?" Why is she surprised? Just because we were from different factions doesn't mean I would abandon the bond we had as childhood friends.

"Of course I would be. You do know who you're facing against, right?"

"Yes, the person whom we are fighting has the backing of Kokabiel, a leader of Grigori."

"And? You honestly think you two stand a chance?"

"We knew that. We were sent as sacrificial lambs after all." Xenovia answered. She had a sad expression but it must have been my imagination.

"..." I don't like that.

"Kazumi-kun?" Irina tilted her head, waiting for my answer.

"...Alright, I'll lend you my aid." I said with a serious tone.

"We don't–"

"Don't misunderstand, I'm only doing this so Itsuki won't cry." I softened my gaze. "With that, you two should be able to accept my offer, right?"

"I won't say thanks, if that's what you're after." Xenovia smirked in reply.

"You're welcome!" I looked at my phone, seeing the time made me realize it's time to come home. "Oh it's already this late. I'm leaving you two with some money, okay? It's not enough to buy another fake painting but it should be enough for a few meals."

"Thank you, Kazumi-kun–Wait! How did you know about that!" Irina suddenly realized what I said. She tried to stop me so I could answer but unfortunately for her, I was faster.

"Goodbye!"

And there we go. 4th one done.

I exhausted what has been needed to be said 3 chapters ago. Wait what else can I talk about?

This is my chance to rant. What should I even rant about?

I guess I could rant about Anime that I like. Such as Re:Zero and Tensura are airing this year. There's also The Apothecary Diaries and Jobless Reincarnation. Peak Animes in my opinion.

By the way, why did I leave Rie updating? It was for moments like this. Especially since a lot has changed in MLBB. New heroes, items, and the like.
