Karna walked out of the meeting room after a thorough discussion with the Ishgar gods. He could not deny that he was surprised by their proposition of making him a God of Ishgar — a title limited to the four strongest wizards on the entire continent. He knew he had the qualifications to be a Wizard Saint, but an Ishgar God was an entirely different matter.
But seeing that he was about to face the Tenrou Island Arc, he declined the offer while explaining the plans he had made to them — just enough for them to handle the seven years he was planning on disappearing from the world for some time.
He wanted to prevent the seven-year entrapment at first, but then he realized that the fights that were supposed to happen on that island were unavoidable now.
Fairy Tail was stronger than they were in canon due to his actions, but at the same time, they needed to grow even stronger.
He had met Gildarts, who had come back after being completely annihilated by Acnologia. Cana had to reopen all the wounds so that he could heal his limbs with the Horse Talisman.
According to the description given by Gildarts, Karna knew he was no match for the current Acnologia. So, he had to get even stronger.
He was sure that Zeref was currently on Tenrou Island. Karna had left some enchantments there to detect any person entering the island, and he was able to sense the presence of Zeref in that Island currently. So Grimoire Heart would appear and, in turn, start a battle with Fairy Tail that would attract the attention of the apocalypse dragon.
And the fight with Grimoire Heart was important for the development of many of their members. Karna was sure that Zeref would directly kill many of the members of the dark guild for spreading such destruction in his name. And Karna was also sure about what had attracted the attention of the dragon.
The Keys of Zeref — or, to be more exact, clusters of curse energy taken from wanton destruction, death, and suffering spread out by Grimoire Heart — were what attracted the apocalypse dragon. Their guild was in the form of a ship, constantly moving from one place to another, making it difficult for anyone to detect that cursed energy.
But staying at a single place, Tenrou Island, for too long might have allowed the dragon to sense the presence of that much dark energy, making him come toward that direction.
The reason Karna found the fight unavoidable was because of what would happen if Fairy Tail members were not on the island when the battle happened. Grimoire Heart would find Zeref and try to use the keys to awaken him. But Zeref would become angry at them and would surely kill one or two before exiting the island. The keys by then would draw out Acnologia, who would destroy the entire island along with the Sagittarius Key, the First Master's grave, and all the creatures currently owned by Fairy Tail on the island.
This, in turn, would destroy the protection the island had on its members. And yes, even though the level of protection the members received on the island and outside was vastly different, the protection had still saved many from dying in dangerous situations. The enchantments Mavis had placed on the island and the tree made sure of that for every single Fairy Tail member with an emblem of their guild. Karna was pretty sure that the island's blessing had a part to play in him surviving the Drakon's self-destruct attack all those years ago. So, the island must be protected.
Plus, Lucy might lose her chance to get the Sagittarius Key, and it might be recreated on an entirely different continent. Natsu might get access to God Slayer magic. Karna was sure that Natsu had indeed absorbed a few characteristics from that flame.
And all the others had grown in one way or another due to the opponents they faced on that island. So there was no choice.
"I will have to let the Tenrou Island battle happen," Karna muttered to himself as his eyes took on a sharpness that wasn't there a moment ago. "But not even a single one of them is going to die in those battles."
Making a promise to himself, Karna began walking back toward Magnolia.
Back in the Council's room
The three Gods of Ishgar were wide-eyed as they recalled the discussion they had twenty minutes ago.
Draculos's hands were shaking as he brought his glass of milk to his lips. Wolfheim seemed to be hyperventilating a bit, and Warrod seemed to be shedding a few leaves in stress.
"Warrod, did you know that the boy knew the future?" Wolfheim finally managed to squeeze out the words, still in shock.
Warrod nodded.
"The boy did say that once, but the details were not given to me. And I never bothered to ask," Warrod replied, not even having the energy to make his usual jokes.
"Let us go through the important parts of the information again," Draculos said, finally summarizing the crucial information from the future that Karna had shared with them.
Within a month, a battle will take place on Tenrou Island where Grimoire Heart will be destroyed and the second master of Fairy Tail will be revealed as the master of the dark guild. After that, Acnologia will try to wipe out the island, but a Fairy Tail magic will protect it for seven years, with no way for anyone to find the island during that time. Zeref is the leader of the Alvarez Continent, and he will wage war within nine years. Acnologia will become crazy in the future and will try to end the world. Plus, Acnologia is human. God Serena will betray and join Alvarez before the start of the war.
All three of them started feeling headaches as they took in the main parts of the information, minus the details of the plan Karna had made for them to follow during that time.
"At least now we know why Serena was acting suspicious. Since there is still a lot of time, we can make plans right now to reduce his influence. I heard that he was planning on implanting two more lacrimas to his already existing six. We should find ways to stop it now," Wolfheim said, starting to make decisions.
