The first sensation I felt when I opened my eyes again was warmth.
Everything seemed so bright, but not in a way that hurt the eyes. The ceiling I was facing was illuminated with what could only be blissful natural glow of sunlight on late afternoon. I turned my head slightly to the right side and saw a big window through which I could see a clear blue sky.
So I survived.
I think.
I then realized my left hand felt particularly warm, not from the sun, but as if it was enveloped in something that emanated heat.
I turned my head to the left and saw Hina sitting on a chair that was pulled close to my bed. She was holding on to my hand, cupping it with hers, with her eyes closed—seemingly asleep.
