Chapter 157 - Great Unification War III

Li Gang, deep in thought, asked, "I just remembered, it shouldn't be possible to judge the wind pressure and water vapor given the restrictions of this world. So how can you deduce the weather so accurately?"

Jin Huang looked at him suspiciously. "Even though I knew you had already figured out 'that,' I am surprised that you failed to understand this basic thing!"

She said calmly, "You should have already deduced what kind of axis it is. Let me name it for you, and it will clear your doubt. It is known as the Soul Axis!"

Li Gang immediately realized. "So that's why the Monarch Inheritance enhanced everyone's talents, and that's why only higher-ranked warriors can sense these parameters, like the distribution of water in the atmosphere!"

Jin Huang replied calmly, "I don't know what the Monarch Inheritance is, but some inheritances do enhance an individual's talents because they exist at a higher level in the Soul Axis and are closer to the Soul Plane."

When the Timeless Demon God suppressed the Heaven of Balance to Four Dimensions, it had three dimensions of space and one dimension for the soul.

In the three dimensions, mortals' and warriors' bodies existed, while in the fourth dimension, their souls existed.

Thus, the fourth dimension was also known as the Soul Axis. At one point on the Soul Axis, there exists a Soul Plane, which is a three-dimensional hypothetical space.

The Soul Plane can be inferred as being similar to the orbitals of atomic particles.

Just like orbitals are the spaces where electrons are most likely to exist, the Soul Plane is the space where souls are most likely to exist.

They form connections with the body, and as soul cultivation increases, the connection grows stronger and the probability of the soul leaving that Soul Plane increases. It tends to get closer to the plane where the body resides, consequently changing the size and shape of Soul Plane.

When a Monarch Inheritance or any Small World that exists closer to this Soul Plane opens, the warriors entering feel their talent and intelligence increase exponentially due to the closeness between body and soul. From higher dimensional perspective, the Euclidean distance between the body and soul decreases at such moments.

The Soul Plane doesn't exist in reality; it is just a hypothetical concept. The spatial structure where the probability of finding a soul is highest is what we call the Soul Plane.

One could argue, what about the dimension of time?

It's simple. In this world, time exists as a law. It doesn't manifest itself as a dimension. As a result, there is no past and future, only present!

She glanced at him and continued, "Only those whose souls have reached a high level of cultivation can be aware of the Soul Axis and things beyond this world within a certain range. Even though the range is limited, it's enough for us to make accurate predictions in most cases. Normally, only Advanced Warriors can do this, but there are always exceptions, like me."

Li Gang murmured inwardly, 'Lin Fan's memory was also messed up because he existed in the same realm as those Immortals. A human brain probably can't process information that exists there. I can only process information limited by this world's restrictions. It's probably because of the limit of my soul cultivation.'

When Li Gang absorbed Lin Fan's memory, he found that there was a lot of messy information, which we call noise. In fact, it had been added by He Fan when he removed the higher-dimensional attributes. He didn't simply erase the attributes; he altered the memories that contained higher-dimensional attributes into noisy and messy memories.

Seeing Li Gang's silence, Jin Huang suddenly asked, "Who are you trying to expose with your identity as 'Ren Ying'?"

It should be noted that every question Jin Huang asks must not indicate that she can read his memories at this point. All of these questions must be reasonably inferred from the clues she already possesses on the surface.

Li Gang was surprised by the sudden question. He smiled and changed the subject. "How about we cooperate? I will help you take down both the Wu and Shu dynasties."

Jin Huang glanced at him and said lightly, "Alright."

Li Gang was shocked inwardly by her decisiveness. At the same time, he became wary. 'How is this possible? How could she agree so quickly? She should have realized it might be a trap!'

However, he immediately calmed down. 'Anyway, it benefits me. Even if she has realized the trap, she can't do anything about it because of her strength limit.'

Jin Huang asked, "So how long will we be cooperating? And when do you plan to attack the Wu and Shu dynasties?"

Li Gang narrowed his eyes as he glanced at the sky. He said calmly, "My preparations are nearly complete. We can take down the entirety of the Wu and Shu dynasties. You just need to hold off the Wu dynasty while we take down the Shu dynasty. Once the Shu dynasty falls, the Wu dynasty will face attacks from all directions and won't be able to maintain its defenses."

Jin Huang smiled. "I'm eager to see what formation you've designed to take down two great dynasties!"

Li Gang glanced at her, no longer impressed. He had already realized how terrifying her ability was — to see through words, thoughts, and situations.

The reason Jin Huang came to this conclusion was because the face off of Wei and Shu dynasty needs battle in an open field. His confidence made her realize that he has prepared and studied Shu Dynasty's battle strategies and made a formation that could handle them.

"Don't worry, it won't harm the Golden Crow Kingdom," he assured.

Jin Huang replied lightly, "I know; otherwise, you wouldn't have asked for cooperation."

Li Gang thought of something and stood up.

Jin Huang chuckled. "It seems you've achieved your goal in coming here."

Li Gang nodded. "Yes, I have."

As he began to leave, he heard her say, "Sometimes, circumstances force you to do things you don't want to. You should move forward and make those circumstances bend to your will. Focus on the goal you've set, and only then can you achieve what you truly want. That's all I can tell you for now."

Li Gang paused, a smile forming on his face. "It seems I'm on the right track, then."

"If you want peace, you can come again," Jin Huang added.

Li Gang left without looking back, murmuring to himself, "I will."

Jin Huang's eyes remained calm as she dipped her snow-white legs into the lake and smiled. "How interesting. You want to use the Golden Crow Kingdom as a means to handle your enemies! It seems you can't use your Rank 8 battle strength anymore, or perhaps the consequences are too severe. But this benefits me. Who knows, I might gain a powerful ally by sacrificing you. Though, I don't want to sacrifice you. Your value is much greater than any ally I can have, and your danger is equally great as an enemy!"

These were her surface thoughts, which she intended to let the Immortals know. At the same time, it was to show her clumsiness. She had always shown this side of herself to the Immortals — someone who has no ambition.

As a result, she doesn't hide her thoughts, even if she knows they can perceive them.

Even though she was thinking this, it was quite obvious to the Immortals that her plan was different. They saw through it, and that was exactly what Jin Huang wanted.

As long as they "see" through everything, they would believe they could handle the situation, without realizing the deeper pit dug for them.

Not long after Li Gang left,

A young man came toward a medium-sized hut. He glanced around calmly when he heard a voice.

"You are back?"

Li Gang smiled. "You knew that. Why act so surprised?"

Jin Huang came toward him and said softly, "Why would I know?"

The young man looked at her and asked, "Why did you choose this path?"

The woman sighed. She said calmly, "Just because..."

She paused, and then her eyes turned as deep as an abyss. "You are the destined one!"

Li Gang glanced at her deeply and then moved closer toward her.

Night fell, and the two united with each other.

The next morning,

Li Gang looked at her. "Woke up?"

Jin Huang smiled. "What should I call you now?"

They were married, approved by the Heavenly Dao itself.

Li Gang glanced at her deeply as he continued, "So, what are your plans?"

Jin Huang smiled. "I will do you three favors in the future!"

Li Gang laughed. "Do you still call them favors?"

His meaning was clear. Now they were family — why call them favors?

Yes, this was Li Gang's means of eliminating the threat of Jin Huang. After realizing that she could read his memories, Li Gang felt a huge obstacle in his heart. He also considered whether she was the hidden enemy, but when she tried to hint to him through multiple ways, he realized that she was not them. In order to prevent her from standing against him, and also to ensure that they remained allies in the future, he decided to marry her. The enemy who knows you best is better turned into an ally.

Jin Huang hinted toward Li Gang many times. There were moments when she helped him prepare excuse for Immortals, there was moment when she decisively cooperated with him, and her eagerness to help him. It was all hints that she is going all in.

And with Li Gang's cautiousness, would he accept an ally so much whom he couldn't trust? He wouldn't!

Marriage is one of the best to make her his "trustworthy" ally!

She led him to believe that she could read his memories while, at the same time, letting the Immortals think she couldn't. The reason she was able to pull both of these off was because she could actually read Li Gang's memories and understand what she should do to lead him to this conclusion.

Why did she want to do it? Of course, it was all pretense.

Immortal Chen would surely try to stop their marriage, since it would allow her to read his memories and understand the involvement of various schemes surrounding Li Gang, the existence of the Elemental Emperor, Soul Emperor, Void Emperor, and many other important factors.

They didn't want someone like her to be involved. She was too dangerous.

Unfortunately, Li Gang would deny this interference.

Immortal Chen tried to stop Li Gang, but he suppressed this control and united with Jin Huang.

In desperation, Immortal Chen changed his tactic.

He tried controlling Li Gang's thoughts and then gave him extra memories about soul-type secret techniques that could help him block his mind from being read by his spouse.

Li Gang wouldn't decline this offer. He gladly accepted and stopped Jin Huang from reading his memories.

This was the exact goal Jin Huang wanted to achieve. Since Immortal Chen personally interfered and stopped Jin Huang from reading his memories, they would never suspect that she had ever read Li Gang's memories in the past.

There was another reason why Li Gang chose to marry Jin Huang. One of his psychological cues had been triggered.

Jin Huang glanced at him and said, "I have something I must do."

She paused before continuing, "I will gift you the Golden Crow Kingdom as my gift for this special moment. Remember, the Golden Crow Kingdom will block the Wu Dynasty's interference for only two years."

Li Gang nodded. "That will suffice."

Jin Huang smiled. "You don't need to give me anything. I will take it myself when the time comes."

Li Gang smiled. He understood that she was making a joke about the gifts. He didn't give her anything.

Now an important question arises — what method did Jin Huang use to read Li Gang's memories?

How did Li Gang knew he would be led to meet Jin Huang, and prepared psychological cues for this?

What was the psychological cues that he had prepared?
