Chapter 534 - Chapter 665-666 – A Magic That Can Be Used Freely [BONUS]

Smoothie: "So it really is an ice-based power. She casually created an ice rose garden on that huge a scale."

Stussy: "As expected, the Ultear template Arton drew this time is no ordinary template."

Kalifa: "If even just the ice power is already this impressive, then wouldn't the time ability be even more terrifying?"

Kujaku: "Ice... this is making me think of Admiral Kuzan."

Gion: "I wonder whether Kuzan could create something like an ice rose garden the way Ultear just did... He probably can't, right?"

If the question were whether Kuzan could freeze the sea with his ice powers, Gion would absolutely believe he could.

Or rather, for Kuzan, that was an extremely easy thing to do.

With how well he had developed the Ice-Ice Fruit by now, a casual move from him could freeze a huge stretch of ocean.

That was also why Kuzan dared to ride a bicycle so casually across the sea.

Even if he somehow slipped off the bike, he could probably freeze the ocean beneath him in an instant and keep himself from falling into the water and becoming weakened.

But if the question was whether he could use ice to create something as delicate as a rose garden, at least Gion had never seen him do anything like that.

Creating a rose garden out of ice was obviously something that required incredibly precise control over ice.

Kuzan's Ice-Ice Fruit power was overwhelming in raw strength, but when it came to control and finesse, he was probably much worse.

Doll: "Come to think of it, there are more and more ice users around Arton now. Robin's Signora template is like that too. And in both cases, the ice power seems to be the weaker half of the template."

Watching the scene coming through the diary copy, Doll could not help wanting to complain a little.

She was even starting to suspect that, as time went on, more and more people around Arton would gain the ability to control ice.

"So beautiful... How in the world does she make ice do something like this?"

Ain stared at the rose garden Ultear had formed from ice and murmured in amazement.

"That has to do with the magic she uses."

Arton smiled and began explaining.

"The magic Ultear uses is called Ice-Make Magic. Just like the name says, it's a kind of magic that lets you create all sorts of different things out of ice."

"Some people are good at making moving things, like animals, and then using those ice animals to attack their enemies."

"Others are better at making stationary things, like blades, spears, swords, halberds, or even cannons, and then attacking with those."

"As for Ultear, she's probably the type who specializes in using Ice-Make Magic to create things like flowers and thorny vines."

"In the end, it's a power that's full of imagination."

"The richer your imagination is, the more powerfully you can use it."

A bright light flashed through Ain's eyes the moment she heard that.

"A magic that lets you fully use your imagination?"

"Then after I get Ultear's template, does that mean I won't be limited to making only rose gardens with Ice-Make Magic?"

"Can I use Ice-Make Magic to create whatever I want to create too?"

Chapter 666: Ultear's Ice Is Incredibly Flexible

"Of course you can."

Arton smiled and nodded at Ain.

"At the end of the day, Ice-Make Magic is a very free-form kind of magic. Ultear happens to specialize in using it to create stationary things and attack with them, but you can absolutely use your own ideas to build an Ice-Make style that belongs to you. If your imagination is rich enough and your mastery is good enough, you might even be able to recreate the Marine weapons you know—or savage beasts from nature—and use them in battle."

As Ain listened, her eyes gradually lit up.

"I can create familiar people and things to fight for me?"

She blinked, then asked, "Then does that mean I could make a Captain too?"

"Uh... in theory, yes."

Arton smiled.

"But the version of me you make would just be an ice version of me. It wouldn't actually have my abilities."

If Ain could create an ice construct of him that could also use his powers, that would be way too absurd.

If Ice-Make Magic could reach that level, it wouldn't just be a relatively ordinary kind of magic anymore—it would be something even scarier, rarer, and stronger than Lost Magic.

"That said, if your Haki gets strong enough, you might be able to coat the constructs you create with Haki and use them in battle. Of course, that's only if your Haki reaches a certain level, and your Ice-Make Magic also reaches a certain level."

Arton continued.

A power like Haki gradually faded once it left the user's body.

Even top-tier Haki monsters like Whitebeard and Roger might not necessarily be able to control Haki once it had left their bodies.

At best, they could coat a weapon with Haki and use it for an instant in battle.

Once they sent that Haki out as a flying slash, all they could do was watch it damage the target.

So even if Ain coated the constructs created by Ice-Make Magic with Haki, that Haki would still gradually dissipate.

It wasn't stable the way the ice created through Ice-Make Magic was.

Still, if Ain's control over Haki became strong enough, she might be able to seal Haki into the constructs created through Ice-Make Magic in a relatively stable way.

And then, if her mastery over Ice-Make Magic became perfect enough, she might be able to effectively suppress the leakage of the Haki stored inside those creations.

At that point, the ice constructs she created might be able to fight with Haki the way an ordinary Haki user would.

Maybe, when she reached that level, Ain really could create an ice Arton that could use Haki.

Or maybe she could create an ice Zephyr that could use Haki.

Smoothie: "Adding Haki into a construct isn't that hard when the construct is still connected to your body."

Stussy: "But coating Haki onto something that's already left your body? That's a completely different level of difficulty."

Yamato: "That's basically on the level of using Ryuo, isn't it?"

Doll: "Honestly, it feels even harder than projecting Armament Haki outward. But Arton seems to think Ain could pull it off relatively easily with Ultear's template."

Kujaku: "Ultear's Ice-Make Magic really does seem like an incredibly flexible power."
