At the detention center, Sukuna looks at the person who just appeared from more than 20 meters away.
Although caught off guard, he was surprised by how powerful the attack was. Even after reinforcing his body with cursed energy, he still took damage and was sent back that far.

On the opposite side, Kenji, who had just arrived, was also observing the king of curses. In his previous life, Kenji was actually a fan of Sukuna.
Not his murderous tendencies, but his view on power and strength. The way he isn't limited by the view of those around him.
He likes what he likes and hates what he hates, there is no in between. In Kenji's view, this is what a person called the strongest should be like.
Similarly, his cousin Gojo Satoru has the same behavior without the murderous tendencies.
"Kenji!!"
Megumi calls out, causing Kenji's sight to leave Sukuna.
"Oh!! Looks like you're in a rough spot there"
Kenji states as he had seen that Megumi was about to summon his last resort. He had heard in his past life that when this shikigami is summoned, it's game over for everybody.
Kenji, while a fan of the show JJK, had only watched season one and the movie Zero. So, the only knowledge that he has about the other seasons is spoilers from the community.
This means that he is aware of the Shikigami that they call Mahoraga and some other details. But with the passage of time, Kenji couldn't remember every detail.
Fortunately, he had written down most of the important details in a book so as not to forget.
Still, Kenji is not too worried about what is to come, as he believes that the strength that he has is enough to handle any situation.
"Kenji!! That is the king of curses incarnate. He has taken Itadori's body hostage by removing his heart, making it impossible for Itadori to take his body back without dying"
Megumi explains the situation to Kenji, who nods his head in understanding.
"So, all I have to do is force him to grow the heart back?"
"Yeah, but it is harder than it sounds. Can you do it?"
"Hmm…"
Kenji looks back at Sukuna, who at some point sat on the ground looking at them, not in a hurry to attack.
'He is underestimating me?'
A smile appears on Kenji's face as he walks towards Sukuna.
"Leave it to me"
Seeing Kenji approaching, Sukuna grins.
"Are you guys done?"
"Yeah, I was surprised that you didn't attack."
"…"
Sukuna was a bit shocked at Kenji's statement. What Kenji was implying is that Sukuna missed the perfect chance for an ambush.
"Like I would need to do that to deal with someone like you" Sukuna laughs at the thought.
"Underestimating me!?"
"More like you over estimate yourse…"
Before he could even finish his statement, his line of sight was covered by Kenji's incoming fist. He moved his head to the side, barely dodging Kenji's punch.
"Fast!!"
Not letting up, Kenji follows up with another punch. This time Sukuna wasn't able to dodge, putting his arm up to guard.
As soon as the attack hit, Sukuna felt a huge force that once again sent him flying. He quickly recovered as he stopped a few meters from Kenji.
"How is that? Still feel like am over estimating myself"
Kenji doesn't continue attacking as he mocks the King of Curses.
"…"
Sukuna doesn't respond as he takes a more serious look at his opponent.
'His speed and power are not normal. Must be a result of his technique'
He was very surprised at how fast. He could tell that he had to take the person in front of him seriously.
Kenji doesn't bother to give the King of Curses time to gather his thoughts as he moves in for another attack.
This time Sukuna was on guard, but he still underestimated Kenji's speed. Kenji moved at a speed faster than his previous one, forcing Sukuna to go on the defensive
Parrying and deflecting Kenji's blows, Sukuna could feel the powerful force in each of them. He was not willing to admit but if he didn't have Itadori Yuji's body, which carries superhuman strength, he might not be able to keep up.
Unfortunately, he wasn't willing to heal the heart; he would have an easier time dealing with the attacks.
Megumi, who was watching from the side, felt unimaginable shock. Although he knew that Kenji was strong, he never expected him to push back Sukuna so easily.
"This is the level that he has reached"
Kenji wasn't letting up as he kept the pressure on Sukuna. His hands blurred as his speed kept on ramping up.
Soon an opening appears in Sukuna's defense. Not letting the opportunity go to waste, he wraps his hands in a massive amount of cursed energy.
{KINETIC IMPACT}
Kenji's attack hit Sukuna square in his chest. The moment Kenji's punch made contact, the force of the punch was amplified, sending Sukuna crashing into the building of the juvenile center.
This was a result of Kenji's Cursed Technique {ENEGRY FORMULAR}. This is the cursed technique that was acknowledged by the strongest sorcerer of modern times.
{ENEGRY FORMULAR} is a technique that allows the user to manipulate and amplify the kinetic forces. This allows him to increase the speed of his movement and the power of his attack.
"As expected from the king of curses" Kenji flexed his arms as a grin appeared on his face.
At the exact moment his punch was about to impact, Sukuna focused most of his cursed energy into reinforcing the area of contact, protecting himself from taking damage.
Sukuna, who was lying on top ruble wasn't in a hurry to get up. His mind turned to the short exchange that he just had with the person called Kenji.
"The brat is better than I expected" he said out loud
Rather than anger, Sukuna was excited. He never thought that he would find someone like Kenji in this era.
He could feel it: Kenji's power, or to be more precise, his potential. Different from that of Megumi, which he saw as a host body, Kenji had one that could potentially satisfy the hunger that he had.
"But he is not ready yet. He needs to grow more before he is right for the picking"
In the current situation, Sukuna was at a massive disadvantage. Without healing his heart, his curse energy output is limited.
Still, he wasn't worried as he already got a feel of how Kenji's abilities work. He calmly got up, getting ready to face Kenji again.
Facing Kenji in close combat wasn't ideal. Just from their short exchange, Sukuna could tell that Kenji's technique gives him the upper hand.
Even if he only has half of his current strength, it doesn't stop Sukuna from enjoying his current fight.
"Come on, you brat! Let's see if I can dice you up"
Sukuna leaps out of the building, heading straight for Kenji.
Not backing down from the challenge from the king of Curses, Kenji also moves to confront him head-on.
Just as he was about to reach Sukuna, Kenji suddenly changed his direction, moving to the side. A large gash appeared at the spot where he had just stood.
He doesn't stop his movement, backing away from Sukuna at high speed. More and more gashes appear next to him as dodge invincible slashes from Sukuna.
Due to the unique nature of his curse technique, Kenji is able to perceive the kinetic energy of surround. This allowed him to sense the movement and react to the slashes that are otherwise invincible to the eye.
Sukuna was a bit surprised that Kenji was able to react to his slashes. He had thought that he would catch him off guard, believing he wasn't aware of the nature of his technique.
Unknown to Sukuna, Kenji was already aware of Sukuna's ability {SHIRINE} from his past life, which is why he had his guard up. In fact, during his younger days, he had gone to the Gojo clan library to learn more about the future threat that was Sukuna.
"Come now! Why are you moving away? Didn't you say that you would handle it?"
Sukuna's voice was laced with mockery as he sent out more slashes in Kenji's direction.
Not bothered by the taunts, Kenji used his curse technique to amplify the kinetic forces in his body; this, in turn, allowed his body to move at a superhuman level, easily dodging the {dismantle} sent his way.
Amplifying the kinetic forces within the human body was anything but easy. Kenji needs to constantly and precisely control the kinetic energy in the body when moving so as not to break his bones or tear his muscles. Also, he needs to amplify the kinetic energy of his nervous system so his reaction can keep up with his body's speed.
All of the need ample curse energy control to pull off. This speaks volumes to how talented of a sorcerer Kenji was.
After dodging another slash, Kenji punches the air in Sukuna's direction.
{KINETIC PULSE}
A highly compressed kinetic force shot out from Kenji's fist, instantly reaching Sukuna. Reacting at the last moment, Sukuna was able to dodge but not fully, as the force still grazed his sides.
The attack slams into the building behind Sukuna, taking most of it down. The force of the {Kinetic pulse} is comparable to a shot from an armor-piercing tank.
Even Sukuna wasn't going to come out untouched if he took it directly.
Kenji doesn't pause, moving his arms and sending out a wave of {Kinetic pulse}. Now it was Sukuna's turn to move around, dodging, but unlike Kenji, he was able to send out slashes, causing him to pause his attack.
Soon the two reached a stalemate, not able to get the advantage over the other.
