It was certainly an odd turn of events. At least, that was how Paimon saw it.
Only moments ago, the three of them had been walking across the plains, trying to make their way toward Goiim. Then the ground had cracked beneath their feet, an enormous worm-like Deseruit Beast had forced its way out of the earth, and the surrounding hills had begun spilling forth beasts of every imaginable shape and size. Some prowled across the ground, their limbs carrying them over the terrain with alarming speed, while others circled overhead, filling the sky with beating wings and distant cries. More continued to gather in the distance, their numbers steadily growing until the open plains no longer seemed quite so open.
There were Deseruit Beasts everywhere.
