A heavy thud echoed through the forest as the man, Drax, sheathed his weapon.
Taking down a monster that normally required an entire team had left him drenched in sweat. Defeating it alone had demanded everything he had, and the battle had been far more taxing than he expected.
Yet Drax felt a rare thrill—a surge of excitement and adrenaline he hadn't experienced in a long time. Solo quests had reminded him why he became an adventurer in the first place.
He could always hunt stronger monsters without accepting quests, but doing so earned him nothing. It was a thankless waste of time.
