Normally, it would have been impossible for an Argent artist to injure an Aurous artist, no matter how powerful or precise his martial arts were.
This was because Aurous artists could deploy a golden Qi layer around their bodies that was almost impossible to penetrate unless the opponent was also an Aurous artist.
However, Aksai had the Qi Shell of the Verdant Elder working for him. This Qi Shell allowed him to increase the destructive nature of his Qi-based attacks. It was like using twin engines to match the performance of a higher-stroke machine.
Because of this, Aksai's martial arts were far stronger than those of any early-stage Aurous artist, even though his energy was still silvery Qi. What made it even worse for his opponent was that the Qi Shell had changed the way Aksai's Qi behaved once it entered another person's body.
