The morning sun bathed Lorelei's private beach villa in a warm, golden light. The gentle sound of waves provided a soothing backdrop as Ash and his group enjoyed a relaxed breakfast on the spacious deck. Fresh fruit, warm bread, and fragrant tea filled the table, but Ash's mind was already wandering toward the next adventure.
After the meal, he found Lorelei sitting alone near the railing, sipping herbal tea while watching the ocean. Her long red hair caught the sunlight, giving her an almost ethereal beauty against the blue sea.
Ash approached with a calm, confident smile. "Lorelei, do you have some free time today? I was thinking of going on a little adventure. Would you like to join me?"
Lorelei looked up, clearly surprised but intrigued. She set her tea down and studied him for a moment, her elegant features softening into a small, genuine smile.
"I'd love to," she replied. "It's been quite a while since I had a proper adventure outside of official duties. Where exactly are we going?"
Ash's eyes sparkled with quiet excitement. "You'll see soon enough. It's not too far, but it should be interesting."
He turned to the girls who were relaxing on comfortable lounge chairs nearby. "What about you three? Want to come along?"
Misty shook her head with a playful grin, stretching lazily in the sun. "Sorry, Ash. We have plans with Giselle today some girl stuff and a little beach time. You go have fun!"
Sabrina and Daisy nodded in agreement. Giselle blushed slightly but looked excited to spend more time bonding with her new "sisters."
Tracey was already set up on the balcony with his easel and paints, carefully capturing the majestic view of the villa and the sparkling sea. "I'll stay here and finish this painting. The light is perfect right now. You guys enjoy the adventure!"
Ash chuckled. "Alright then. Pikachu, Eevee you're with me."
"Pika-pi!" "Ee-vee!"
With Lorelei joining the small group, they set off from the villa. The journey started along a scenic coastal path, but the landscape gradually changed as they headed northward. The warm tropical air gave way to cooler breezes, and soon they were walking through a beautiful snow-filled mountain region. The ground became blanketed in soft white powder that crunched under their feet. Tall evergreen trees dusted with snow lined the trail, and distant peaks rose majestically against the clear blue sky.
Lorelei walked beside Ash, her elegant coat keeping her warm. She raised an eyebrow, growing more intrigued with every step. "Ash, what exactly are we looking for in this snowy area? It's quite far from the usual training spots or Gym routes."
Ash just smirked mysteriously, his eyes scanning the horizon. "You'll see soon enough. Trust me it'll be worth it."
As they climbed higher into the snowy terrain, a familiar golden arrow suddenly appeared in Ash's vision visible only to him. It pointed deeper into the mountain pass, glowing brightly against the white landscape. His smirk widened. This is the same golden arrow I saw when I caught the Shiny Magikarp. Perfect timing.
They continued forward, the air growing crisper and colder. The group moved carefully along the snowy trail until a loud, powerful roar suddenly echoed through the valley, shaking loose powder from the trees.
Lorelei tensed immediately, her hand instinctively moving toward her Poké Balls. "That sounds like a strong Pokémon… and it's angry."
They hurried toward the source of the roar and soon reached a small, open clearing surrounded by snow-covered rocks. There, a tiny Pokémon was fiercely battling a much larger Ursaring.
The little dragon-like creature fought with surprising ferocity and willpower, dodging heavy swipes and countering with sharp Ice Shards and bursts of Dragon Rage. Despite the size difference, Frigibax refused to back down, its eyes burning with determination.
Ash quickly scanned it with his System, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
[Shiny Frigibax ♂️ Lv: 20]
Not only Ash Lorelei was also visibly astonished. A small, seemingly fragile Pokémon was holding its own and actually winning against a much bigger, stronger Ursaring. The little Frigibax moved with clever tactics, using the snowy terrain to its advantage sliding on ice patches to dodge and launching precise counterattacks.
After a fierce exchange of blows, Frigibax landed a decisive Dragon Rush, slamming into the Ursaring with surprising power. The larger bear roared in defeat and fled into the forest, leaving the tiny dragon standing victorious but panting heavily.
Frigibax stood its ground, still on high alert. When it noticed Ash, Lorelei, Pikachu, and Eevee approaching, it lowered its stance, eyes sharp and wary, ready to fight again if necessary.
Ash stepped forward slowly, keeping his movements calm and respectful. He spoke gently but confidently.
"So, Frigibax… I was really impressed by your battle and your incredible willpower. You fought bravely against a much stronger opponent and won. I want you to join my team. I have a great group of Pokémon who train hard and support each other. How about it? Want to come with me?"
Frigibax looked at Ash carefully. It seemed to sense something special about the young trainer the invisible aura of someone far from ordinary. After a moment of consideration, it made a determined sound and shook its head, clearly indicating it would only join if Ash proved his strength first.
Ash chuckled, not offended in the slightest. "So… you'll only join me if I beat you first? That's fair. I respect that."
He tossed a Poké Ball. "Growlithe! Let's show him what we've got!"
A shiny Growlithe burst out with an energetic bark. This was Ash's favorite boy the one personally trained by Pikachu and Eevee. The little fire puppy stood tall, eyes locked on Frigibax with burning determination and confidence.
Pikachu and Eevee watched proudly from the side, like big siblings sending off their disciple.
"Pika-pi! (Good luck! Show him everything we taught you!)"
"Ee-vee! (Make us proud!)"
Growlithe barked confidently and charged forward.
The match began.
Growlithe showcased the impressive results of his rigorous training. He moved with incredible speed and precision, dodging Frigibax's Ice Shards with ease thanks to Pikachu's agility drills. When Frigibax tried to close the distance with Dragon Rush, Growlithe countered with a powerful Ember enhanced by his Flash Fire ability, then followed up with Bite and Roar to keep the pressure high and disrupt Frigibax's rhythm.
Frigibax fought bravely, using its Dragon-type moves and Ice Shards effectively, but Growlithe's training under Pikachu and Eevee had made him exceptionally disciplined and versatile. He landed clean, powerful hits with Thunder Fang and Fire Fang, slowly wearing down the shiny dragon while avoiding major damage through clever positioning on the snowy terrain.
The battle was intense and beautiful. Snow flew in all directions as Growlithe used the slippery ground to his advantage, sliding into attacks with surprising grace. Frigibax countered with Dragon Rage, creating small explosions of energy, but Growlithe's speed allowed him to dodge most of the blasts.
After a final, decisive Flamethrower that lit up the snowy clearing in a brilliant orange glow, Frigibax collapsed, exhausted but not badly injured.
Ash walked over calmly and used his healing power to gently restore Frigibax's strength. The little Pokémon looked up at him with renewed energy and clear eagerness.
Ash smiled warmly. "Ready to join the team now?"
Frigibax nodded enthusiastically and let out a happy cry.
Ash tossed a Poké Ball. It shook once… twice… three times… and clicked shut.
Shiny Frigibax was caught!
Lorelei stood a few steps behind, completely shocked. She had just witnessed Ash catch a Shiny Frigibax after an impressive battle, and she already knew he possessed a Shiny Growlithe as well. Her respect and admiration for the young Champion increased dramatically in that moment. She couldn't help but think how rare and powerful such a trainer was someone who could inspire even wild Pokémon to fight with such spirit.
Ash mentally checked the new Pokémon's stats and grinned happily.

Extremely pleased, Ash took out a High Grade Never-Melt Ice from his System space and offered it to Frigibax.
"Here you go, little guy. This will make your Ice-type moves even stronger."
Frigibax happily accepted the item, its eyes shining with excitement and loyalty as it felt the power boost.
The small adventure had been a huge success. Ash now had a powerful new shiny Pokémon on his team, and Lorelei's admiration for him had grown even more.
As they began walking back toward the villa, the snow crunching under their feet, Ash felt a deep sense of satisfaction. The Orange Islands journey continued to bring wonderful surprises and new companions.
Lorelei walked beside him, occasionally glancing at the young Champion with newfound respect and a hint of something warmer she couldn't quite name yet.
To be continued…
