Later that evening, while everyone rested beneath the stars, Jude wandered toward the shoreline.
The sea was calm.
Almost perfectly still.
As he stared across the endless water, something unexpected happened.
The ocean reflected not the moon...
...but another island.
It floated upside down within the water's surface.
Mountains hung beneath its sky.
Waterfalls poured upward.
Golden forests glowed beneath unfamiliar stars.
Jude blinked.
The vision remained.
Behind him, Grace approached quietly.
"You see it too?"
He nodded.
"What is it?"
Before either of them could answer, Sol appeared beside them.
His expression was more serious than they had ever seen.
"That..."
he whispered,
"...is where the island came from."
Grace frowned.
"I thought there was no escape."
"There isn't."
Sol kept watching the impossible reflection.
"But there are still visitors."
The reflection rippled.
