Hecate just rolled her eyes, her expression one of utter disdain. "Honestly, woman," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "try to think of another original sentence for a change, why do you not? You sound like a broken record. And, besides," she added, her eyes glinting dangerously, "am I actually wrong in my assessment of your intentions?"
"Listen here, you... you overdressed hussy!" Mrs. Weasley shrieked, her face turning an alarming shade of purple. Her whole body trembled with rage.
"I do not care who you think you are, or what airs you put on! I will not stand here and let you disrespect the sacred memory of a good, kind woman like Lily Potter, or allow you to claim that I want to do the same! You... you shameless tramp!"
Percy saw Hecate's eyes twitch, a tiny, almost imperceptible movement, but one he knew well.
It was the calm before a very big, very destructive storm. He immediately moved, stepping quickly between the two furious women.
"Alright, alright, that is quite enough drama for one day, thank you very much!" he said, trying to sound firm but also placating.
"Come on now, Hecate. I want to introduce you properly to Fleur's family." Percy gently but firmly started to push Hecate away from the Weasleys, leaving a very sad and heartbroken-looking Foodo (Sirius) with Harry, who was trying his best to comfort both the dog and his mother figure.
Hecate and Percy slowly walked away from the escalating confrontation. As they did, Percy saw Bill Weasley rush quickly to his mother's side and whisper something urgently into her ear.
The older woman seemed to calm down slightly, though her face was still flushed with anger. She then turned and whispered something to Harry, her expression softening a little.
Whatever it was, Hecate, even from a distance, clearly did not like it, as she let out a little, almost inaudible growl and murmured under her breath, "Controlling bitch."
Percy sighed, shaking his head. "What in Hades was that all about?" he asked his aunt once they were a safe distance away.
Hecate growled again, crossing her arms tightly over her chest. "If there is one thing in this world that I absolutely cannot stand, nephew, it is people who try to replace someone else, especially someone who is gone. It is disrespectful."
"So, you really think she is trying to replace Harry's mom?" Percy asked, raising an eyebrow in surprise. He had never really seen Mrs. Weasley that way.
"Yes, obviously the red-haired bitch is!" Hecate snapped, glancing over her shoulder and sending a venomous glare in Mrs. Weasley's direction. "She completely pisses me off with her smothering act."
Percy just sighed again. There was no arguing with Hecate when she got like this. "Right, well then, come on," he said, taking her by the hand. He gently guided her towards Fleur, who had noticed him walking towards her and was now looking at them with a curious expression.
"Right then!" Hecate's eyes suddenly sparkled, her entire personality doing a complete 180-degree turn in an instant. The anger vanished, replaced by a mischievous, excited grin. "Let us go and meet your future in-laws, shall we, Percy?"
Percy's face immediately turned bright red. "Hecate! Do not say things like that!" But he could not say anything more, as the goddess, with surprising speed, ran past him and stopped right before Fleur, throwing her hands up in an extravagant gesture and then pulling the startled veela into a tight hug.
"Hello there, birdie! It is so wonderful to see you again!" Hecate said, bouncing lightly on the balls of her feet as she quickly broke the hug.
"How have you been, my dear? Are you eating well? Has Percy been doing anything incredibly stupid lately? Does his awful snoring keep you up all night?"
"Hey! I do not snore!" Percy cried out indignantly from behind them.
"Yes, you most certainly do," Hecate snorted dismissively. "You are so loud sometimes, I can practically hear you all the way across the house!"
Fleur smiled, a genuine, warm smile. She was mostly used to Hecate's rather eccentric antics by now. "I am doing very well, Hecate, thank you. It is very nice to zee you again az well. May I please introduce my family to you?" She turned gracefully towards her mother.
"Thiz iz my mother, Apolline Delacour." Then she gestured to her father, who was looking at Hecate's dramatic entrance with a very curious, slightly wary expression. "And thiz iz my papa, Pierre Delacour. And finally-"
"-Horsey!" Little Gabrielle suddenly ran out from behind her mother's skirts and collided right into Percy's legs, startling the demigod as she hugged him tightly around his knees.
She looked up at him with her big, sparkling blue eyes. "Can we go flying again soon?! Can we? Can we, please?!"
Percy chuckled, reaching down to ruffle Gabby's soft, blonde hair, making the little girl giggle delightedly. "Sure, Gabby. Maybe after all this champion stuff is done, I will take you for another fly." He then smiled at Fleur's parents, trying to make a good impression.
"Hello, Monsieur and Madame Delacour. I am Percy Jackson. It is a real pleasure to finally meet you both."
Pierre Delacour just scoffed, his expression still rather critical. "Your French needs a lot of work, young man."
"Papa!" Fleur scolded him, looking embarrassed.
Percy just shrugged, not letting the man's comment bother him too much. "Well, it is a bit difficult learning a completely new language when you are also trying to prepare to take all your NEWT exams a full year early."
The older man's eyes widened slightly at that. "You are taking your NEWTs early? I see... And how are those preparations coming along then?"
Percy shrugged again. "Decent enough, I suppose. But I probably will not make it in time for all of them this year."
"And why is that, if you are so confident?" Pierre asked, his tone still skeptical.
