Chapter 260 - Lazy day

Freya leaned against me contentedly rubbing a fingertip over my bare chest in small circles.

"Are you sure I couldn't persuade you to give me a day?" she asked coquettishly.

I chuckled "You are insatiable. We just fucked and you already want more?" I said with a smirk.

"To be fair I've been on quite the dry spell due to a certain someone not making it easy on me." she teased.

"I was perfectly clear when I said I wasn't going to get tied down but was totally open to string free sex. You just wanted more." I said lightly tapping her forehead.

"Hmph! I'm allowed to be greedy!" she defended with a slight pout.

"Of course you are, doesn't mean I have to give in to it though." I said with a chuckle.

"If only that weren't true." she said wistfully.

"That reminds me for whatever reason but are we just gonna sit here all day or go do something?" I asked casually.

"Depends on if it's interesting enough." she said dismissively.

"I was thinking a picnic in the clouds, maybe a bit of skydiving afterwards." I said with a grin as she perked up.

"You can fly but how are we going to eat so high up?" she asked intrigued.

"I just so happened to have recently made a large flying carpet. Perfectly stable in the air and soft as silk to sit on. Only trouble is it's a bit slow for my usual tastes but just right for a lazy activity like picnicking." I said honestly.

"What made you want to make something so weird like that?" she asked curiously.

"Random whim mostly. Took me a whole day to collect enough Almiraj fur and cotton to make it. Enchanting it was also a bit tricky since it wasn't an unmoving solid object. A fun little project if nothing else." I said casually.

"Hmmm, alright. But lets skip the skydiving part. I'm not partial to the experience of hurtling towards the ground at high speeds." she said as she reluctantly pulled away from me.

I playfully slapped her firm butt as she got out of bed and she just rolled her eyes but smiled pleased with herself as she moved to collect her clothes. I poured myself out of bed before doing the same though I cheated with my technique slipping into the outfit bonelessly.-

Once we were all dressed and ready I made a brief stop by the kitchen to whip up a few simple sandwiches and some red wine I made with my technique using grapes I had refined to perfection. A wine so good that after Freya tried some originally she flat out refused to drink anything else, even Soma wine. In fact she practically begged me to make a white wine as well but I hadn't finished figuring out what I'd like the flavor of it to be. This particular bottle was a concord grape with subtle cream undertones by the way.-

After settling the food I went over to my workshop and grabbed the rolled up carpet and with that in one arm and the picnic basket in the other I waited for Freya to come out of the building. She took five minutes since she had put up her hair to look decent.-

"I hope I didn't keep waiting long?" she said with a smile.

"Not really, only five minutes or so." I said as I deftly tossed the carpet into the air where it unfurled and hovered above the ground three inches.

"Are you sure this thing won't collapse under us?" she asked as she eyed the rippling carpet.

I rolled my eyes at her and stepped up onto the carpet to demonstrate how safe it was. Even with my added weight the carpet didn't even budge but only depressed slightly for cushion. She found that acceptable and cautiously stepped onto the carpet. When it supported her without trouble she relaxed and joined me as we sat down on it. I flexed my will and the carpet gently started to rise into the air as I controlled it to fly us over the building and higher. -

You could faintly hear the oohs and ahs as we flew over the city at an ever higher altitude.

"You weren't joking when you said this thing was slower than you'd like. Compared to how fast you usually fly it must feel like riding in a normal wagon." she commented idly.

"Yeah, I can't just take us straight up either or we'd slide right off the back. Still it's not that bad all things considered. Definitely more comfortable than those foul creations you call transportation. Honestly would it kill the creators to put some shock absorption springs on the damn things." I said with a slight annoyance.

"They could but the price to maintain them would go up. Most people don't even realize that's an option either since it's not advertised." she said with a shrug.

"How the hell would you even know that?" I asked incredulously.

"I once considered having a carriage commissioned to travel and naturally looked at what options were available to me, I only accept the best." she said casually.

I chuckled "Yet you work as a waitress because luxury is too boring." I teased.

"I won't deny that. Honestly the day Horn joined my familia was one of the best I've ever had in the mortal realm." She said frankly.

I suppose that made sense. Before that point even dulled her divine charm was overwhelming so she couldn't really interact with anyone outside her familia. And while Ottar wasn't infatuated with her he also wasn't exactly a great conversationalist either. That was a lonely existence at the least even if she lived in the lap of high luxury. With Horn's spell though she could temporarily lived out an alter ego in the form of Syr who worked as a waitress at the hostess.
