Raven felt sore all over. The sound of someone bustling beyond the door woke him. He set up and blinked at the mess around him.
What the hell happened?
He wondered if he vaguely remembered falling asleep in the room Sage had offered him. But this was clearly NOT the room he had been occupying.
He scratched at his neck absentmindedly. Surprisingly, he felt less heavy, and his head didn't have the usual grogginess that always reared its ugly head during his heat.
He moved to get up when a sharp pain in his thigh forced a hiss of pain from his lips.
"The Fu..."
Looking down, he saw a round, blue-purple bruise on his thigh.
With a groan, he gingerly got out of bed and then waddled to the bathroom as quickly as he could move without putting too much pressure on his thigh.
Raven sighed constantly as the hot water rained down on him, washing away all the fluids his body had secreted last night.
He scrubbed his body two times before he felt clean enough to get out.
Once he stepped out, he wrapped a white fluffy towel around himself. He spotted a brand new toothbrush next to the sink, which he happily opened.
As he brushed, he spotted another oddity, a basket full of brand-new skin care items.
Without a second thought, he used the products.
Once he was done with his toiletries, he made his way into the kitchen. He was starving; hopefully, there would be something edible hiding in one of the cupboards.
To his pleasant surprise, a warm plate was waiting for him. A smile hooked his lips, and he slid onto the chair.
The remaining week of his heat had been a complete rollercoaster. Every time he would get some of his brain cells in working order, he found himself back in Sage's bed in a nest of his clothes.
But the most interesting thing occurred in the thick of his heat.
He regains his memories.
Now the problem became how to get in touch with his system. He had tried on numerous accounts, but it was dead silent on his end.
A frustrated growl left Raven's lips as he pushed off the bed.
He still felt weak, but his senses were finally back under his control.
He dragged himself to the bathroom. After a quick shower, he slipped into the bath.
He had made two clear observations in the past few days.
One, he was in the same world he had merged into, but the layout was quite different. All the people were still the same, like Sage and Fiona, but others were new.
How this happened, he wasn't sure. Most likely the work of the world.
His assumption came from the screen before asking him to remove something or someone.
The second thing he noticed might have to do with the world's personal request.
Something felt strangely familiar to his original world. His mind felt heavy like something was draining pressure from him. A low, amused chuckle left his smiling lips, but his smile never reached his eyes.
"It was here", and his fingers were itching to find it again.
After a thorough soak, he slipped out of the tub and then got dressed.
He took the keycard Sage had left him. Looks like it was time to transfer out of that toxic excuse of a college.
Just as he arrived at the campus gates, a very angry-looking man was glaring at him as if expecting Raven's arrival.
Accompanying him was a police officer.
"Raven?"
The office stepped forward, his hand extended in greeting.
"Umm, yes. What is this about?"
Before the plump-looking rich man could speak, the office beat him to it.
"There has been a case filed against you for brandishing a weapon against fellow schoolmates."
Raven looked taken aback. He pulled away, crossing his arms. His polite self had flown the coop.
"Excuse me? What now?"
He scoffed with a roll of his eyes.
"Well then, I would like to see the video of this "incident"."
Raven arched a brow at the two men.
"That IS my right. No?"
His question was directed at the officer who had the decency to look sheepish. He hasn't thought to ask for video proof, so they didn't have it on hand. He looked over at the portly man whose once red complexion visibly whitened.
"Very well, follow me."
He grumbled, leading the way.
After a few minutes, the three of them ended up in front of the security room. The security guard on duty looked confused at the three men.
The youngest looked like someone had stepped on his bottom line. Fury radiated from his sharp sapphire eyes. The second was a very stiff police officer, and lastly, the Head Master, his face a contorted mess of dark emotions.
"We are here to see the video from the 7th of this month. No be quick about it."
The headmaster grumbled while pushing his way into the room.
"I'm sorry, sir, but a lot of the feed from that day has been compromised." The security guard was terrified of getting fired for something out of his control.
The headmaster sighed and shrugged his shoulders.
"It seemed there was nothing we could do."
He made a show of concern, but Raven wasn't falling for it.
"I'm wa actually the 8th of I remember the incident that you are all talking about. Around 2:00 a.m., Omega dorm C, third floor, room 301."
He batted his eyelashes coyly at the stuned Headmaster.
The security guard nodded in full concentration, typing away on the keyboard as the police officer leaned over the man's shoulder to watch the feed.
To his horror, he watched a terrified young man who wasn't the accused run into the room. Not long after, three much bigger men sauntered down the hall, the smiles on their faces visible on the feed.
One coughed into his hand before pounding his fist on the door. After no response, one of the other two waiting stepped up and also pounded on the door with much more force.
After a moment, you could see the frustration on the three faces. The third man finally stepped up his hand, reaching for the doorknob when it swung open to a furious and sleeping Raven, glaring daggers at the three alphas who smirked. There was no audio, but the police officer got the gist of what must have been said from the look of things. Suddenly, the Headmaster shouted.
"There."
He pointed at something silver and shiny in Raven's hand. The pixels were too grainy to see what it was, but he did point it at the three who backed off right away, then quickly scurried away. The last part showed an annoyed Raven slamming the door in the three alphas' faces.
After a very long and awkward silence, the police officer requested a copy of the tape, which was quickly provided by a much too smug-looking Headmaster. Even the security guard couldn't believe his eyes at what had occurred.
With a grim face, the police officer confiscated the video recording. This was not good, not good at all.
He could already feel the headache coming. No one will be having a restful night in some time, especially if the media gets a wind of this.
