Chapter 378 - Chapter 378 Speed of Life and Death

Obito stared at the strangely shaped kunai, the atmosphere freezing in an instant.

The next second, he abruptly transformed into a shadow and leaped away. The spot where he had been standing was slashed apart by streaks of white light, the blade's edge extending outward and shattering the ground.

Shimizu's blade was as clear as water. Logan sheathed his short sword, watching the direction Obito had fled, and thought to himself, 'He's already recovering this fast?'

Meanwhile, mid-air, Obito used nearby trees to stabilize himself, swaying unsteadily before landing on a thick branch. His gaze locked onto Logan, his focus sharpening to its peak.

From the treetops to the ground in an instant… The Flying Thunder God Technique is terrifying, far beyond ordinary Body Flicker.

Logan raised his sword and continued the assault. After this brief but high-intensity battle, both had drawn blood and revealed their techniques. There was no room for mercy or negotiation… only one outcome remained.

As Logan pursued, Obito did everything in his power to evade, refusing to engage directly.

Clang!

The short sword struck a kunai, electricity crackling over it. Obito immediately let go, phasing through the attack with Kamui.

Blade flashes lit up the forest. Logan showed no mercy, his strikes aimed precisely at Obito's vital points.

Yet, having learned from his earlier arrogance, Obito remained hyper-vigilant, avoiding unnecessary risks and focusing solely on survival.

Mid-fight, Logan hurled a three-pronged kunai, teleporting to it in an instant with Flying Thunder God Technique. But Obito, who is now fully alert, was specifically guarding against this technique, making it nearly impossible for Logan to catch him off guard again.

The two figures darted through the rugged mountain terrain, their movements swift and precise.

Their clashes were brief before separating, with one fleeing and defending and the other relentlessly attacking.

Obito's Kamui was inherently a unique ability. By memorizing the positions of the Flying Thunder God's kunai and escaping at the first sign of danger, combined with his insider knowledge of every Akatsuki's member's abilities, he managed to hold his ground.

Aside from the initial ambush with the Flying Thunder God Technique, he was well aware of Logan's Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, and even his rarely used Kenjutsu.

The clang of metal echoed through the forest, "Tired of running yet? Just taking hits without fighting back… how can you stand it?"

"Hey, turtle boy, why not take off that tasteless mask and swap it for a green hat? It'd suit you better."

"Does your back hurt from all that bleeding? Take it easy, after all, you'll have plenty of time to rest once you're in hell."

Logan taunted relentlessly, his words sharp even as his attacks remained unrelenting.

He also gradually saw realized Obito was burning through his Pupil Power, fully utilizing Kamui's intangibility to barely maintain his footing.

'So stubborn.'

If Obito only used Kamui to dodge, there wasn't much Logan could do.

"Dragging this out will still end with you dead."

With a cold tone, Logan increased his Lightning Chakra's output, further stimulating his cells.

Another chain was severed.

Obito struggled silently, refusing to respond. But he knew that with his severe injuries, stalling was meaningless.

He hesitated.

Gasping for breath, his stamina draining rapidly, Obito forced himself to keep his Mangekyo Sharingan active.

In truth, Obito was incredibly strong. His talent ranked among the best in the Uchiha Clan, otherwise, Madara wouldn't have chosen him. The fact that he could endure such unfavorable conditions already surpassed countless shinobi.

Logically, he should have retreated into Kamui Dimension to regroup. The timing wouldn't be easy, but it wasn't impossible.

But Obito was ambitious. After this battle, Logan would undoubtedly understand the mechanics of his Kamui.

While he could escape now, what then? The events here will eventually reach others' ears. If Itachi figures out his weakness...

He can't afford to leave anything to chance. To complete the Moon's Eye Plan, there's no room for even a grain of sand in his vision. Obito can't afford to gamble. So, he has persisted until now, deciding to take a desperate gamble.

Taking a deep breath, Obito unleashed every ounce of chakra he had painstakingly accumulated during this grueling battle.

Logan's expression shifted as he sensed the sudden surge in his opponent's aura, 'So you've realized stubborn resistance is pointless, huh?'

Throughout the fight, Obito had been wary of Logan's Flying Thunder God Technique, while Logan remained vigilant against his Kamui.

To end this once and for all, Logan had been relentlessly pressuring Obito, leaving him no room to escape with Kamui. He believed his strategy was working.

"Shut up! Don't get too cocky!"

Clang! Clang!

The short sword and kunai collided. Finally unable to endure the endless taunts, Obito roared in fury. And instead of retreating, he lunged forward, the kunai in his hand carrying what seemed like overwhelming rage.

A direct confrontation was exactly what Logan wanted. Having already wounded Obito severely, victory in a head-on clash was all but guaranteed.

Lightning Chakra crackled around Logan's body as he transformed into a bolt of lightning, charging forward with razor-sharp precision. The flash of his drawn sword carved a white arc through the forest air.

The kunai in Obito's hand was only an inch away from Logan's face, but it stopped dead in its tracks.

With a loud crack, trees split and collapsed. Amid the crashing sounds, Obito's body was severed in two.

'Was that really the extent of his so-called desperate counterattack?' Logan's doubt surfaced for just a moment before the 'body' before him crumbled into lifeless mud.

"It's a clone." Logan's guard remained up, 'Sure enough, it couldn't have been that easy...'

"Fire Release: Blast Wave Wild Dance!"

Space twisted violently as Obito emerged from the shadows, his pre-formed hand seals unleashing a torrent of Chakra that erupted into a swirling inferno, rushing toward Logan.

The temperature skyrocketed. Logan's eyes reflected the approaching flames, knowing this was no ordinary Fire Release.

Enhanced by the spatial distortion of Kamui, the fire snakes combined with violent winds to form a high-level Ninjutsu. Using Lightning Release might leave half his clothes burned...

Channeling his chakra, Logan activated the Flying Thunder God Technique without hesitation. He had previously placed three special kunai in this forest, and now he teleported to the nearest one.

The flames swept through the trees, igniting a roaring blaze… but Logan was already elsewhere.

As he reappeared, Logan turned to locate Obito, but before he could even focus, a shadowy figure slammed into him with full force.

He was startled, but fortunately, his combat instincts kicked in, allowing him to react precisely, and Shimizu's blade sliced through the air.

Squelch.

The blade sank into flesh. Ignoring the risk of being bisected, Obito grabbed the sword with his bare hand.

Blood gushed out, dripping steadily.

Barely able to stand, Obito focused all his remaining strength into extending his left arm, 'Just a little further...'

His fingers then clenched around Logan's collar.

"Got you."

Obito's voice was hoarse, as if drained of all energy, yet he refused to let go, gripping the fabric with desperate determination.

A cold sweat trickled down Logan's back as he instantly understood what Obito was trying to do.

Obito activated the Mangekyo in his right eye, veins bulging as he roared, "Kamui!"

At this moment, the life-and-death struggle they had endured until now smoothed away panic and granted strength. Logan, who had also clawed his way back from death's doorstep, felt his mind clear utterly.

The space around him began to distort, centering on him. With a fierce motion, Logan raised his hand, which is holding a three-pronged kunai.

If he could throw it fast enough, faster than the pull of Kamui, he could escape before being pulled in.

"Don't even think about it!"

Obito saw it, and immediately yanked Logan closer. Summoning a burst of strength out of nowhere, he slammed his forehead against Logan's, forcing him to meet his gaze directly.

The Mangekyo Sharingan spun wildly… Genjutsu, activated at maximum output! Logan's focus wavered for a split second.

The Genjutsu dissipated.

But that split second was enough. The distortion became visible to the naked eye, and Logan could already feel parts of his body being dragged into the void.

Fury surged through Logan. There was no time left to throw the kunai. In one swift motion, he redirected the sword's edge, aiming straight for Obito's neck.

'Since Obito wanted to play ruthless, then I would respond in kind. Now… let's see how tough he really was.'

However, this was a desperate move, a last resort in the face of irreversible spatial distortion. Whether it would stop Kamui, no one could say.

Boom!

The ground beneath them suddenly bulged, and a white figure threw itself between Logan and Obito.

'What the…?'

Logan's eyes widened in shock. The kunai pierced flesh… but not Obito's.

An unnamed White Zetsu, which is never before seen, fulfilled its purpose, becoming lifeless before it hit the ground.

Meanwhile, Logan was abruptly sucked into the Kamui Dimension.
