It was already obvious since the woman had crossed over, but the way she had apologized for whatever chaos her return came with really made Kiyomi feel like the Moon had chosen well for her.
"Doesn't matter what they say after this, Petal. What matters is that you get to do what you love doing without anyone blocking your way. I'm sorry for how messy it will get," Sakura had apologized the day before Kiyomi went in for her shift.
So, stepping out of the OR into a hospital that was giving her careful stares was something she had expected. It was like life was going on either way because at the end of the day, someone had to do the harder job of making things right.
