A newspaper hit the table that morning, as a man crossed his arms over it in a rather private room inside the Ministry of Magic.
"Look at this guy. He just showed up yesterday, watched us as if we were nothing, and still went out for dinner with one of his fiancées in France. Hahahaha." The big man said, looking at the newspaper cover while laughing almost as if he couldn't believe Severus Prince's audacity.
"How are they letting him use the Floo Network?" The blue-haired girl commented.
These were the members of the Sentinels of the Veil, as the group gathered that morning, in the first meeting they would have to start the operation against Lord Prince, after the newspaper came out.
"What can I say, they're young, right?" Said the elderly man with a grandfatherly smile.
The blue-haired girl said nothing else, only stared at the newspaper.
"So this guy does leave his mansion, after all." Said the vampire in a calm tone.
"Does he really look like a villain?" Asked the little girl next to her brother, picking up the newspaper. "This is so romantic..." She said with a slightly childish tone, although Severus had already noticed she was much older than she appeared.
"I don't think he's evil either." Said her brother, even more timidly.
"Listen, we must not trust appearances." Said the big man again, with an angry tone that made the two children shrink.
"Hey, don't scare them!" The blue-haired girl complained to her guard. The big man immediately went silent.
"You're as protective as ever, princess." The old man said with satisfaction.
"Anyway, our job is to catch him, isn't it? So we'll just do that, there's nothing to worry about." Said the gnome, arms crossed, already sitting on the couch.
"I feel strange about this... He defeated the Dark Lord. I feel like we might be making a mistake here." The vampire couldn't help but comment.
"For someone who's so indifferent to everything... why this sympathy for this guy?" The big man commented.
"I just think he isn't someone out there wanting to dominate the world like Grindelwald or even Voldemort. After all, we've only seen him buying Muggle things since he took on the role of Lord Prince and living in harmony... although I don't doubt his house must be full of those shadow monsters..." The vampire said.
"Phiness, our job is to catch him and let the authorities above us investigate his intentions. There's no doubt he defeated the Dark Lord and killed a bunch of those idiot followers with that blood purity nonsense." Said the gnome. "Let's just do our job and get back to our work, we still have to investigate that thing in Japan, that's very strange and I can't foresee the future with that thing... And it will also be interesting, it's the first time we actually fight against a Dark Lord... at least that's how they defined him." He added at the end.
"It's not like we're going to kill him either, is it? We're just going to capture him." Said the man.
And before anyone could say anything else, the doors opened, as Vicência Santos herself appeared along with Dumbledore, the Minister of Magic of Moldova, some representatives from England, and employees of the Department of Zoology, who came to greet them.
"Hello everyone. Well, we are going to have our first meeting to start the operation. I want to hear all the witnesses who saw Severus Prince fighting here with you, before we begin to act..." She said, while all the members of the Sentinel settled into their places on the sofa and the others did the same.
"What more can we know about him? We had the report that he can summon shadows, a kind of army of darkness with various types of creatures, even one that is a giant snake, like a basilisk, according to all indications. And it is immune to all kinds of magic, even death magic." The old man said.
"Resistant to all kinds of magic? Interesting." The big man said next to him.
"Didn't you read the report?" The blue-haired girl asked almost in disbelief while the man seemed embarrassed.
"I needed to sleep yesterday." He said while she shook her head in disapproval.
"Don't get too excited. That guy is not just anyone. He managed to kill hundreds of wizards and is more powerful than any of you today. You will have to work as a team if you want to defeat him. They are not just anyone, and we cannot rely only on brute force, because I believe we will lose. That's why we need to come up with a strategy." She said.
"Anyway, I brought these people to talk about Severus Prince and their opinions and experiences regarding his power." She said calmly, while pointing to the group behind her.
"Dumbledore, I would like you to start. We want to know everything you know about Severus Prince."
"The man who fell to a Hogwarts student..." The little girl said out loud, before going quiet and putting her hand over her mouth, realizing she had thought too loudly.
If Dumbledore was offended by that, he did not show it. He simply stepped forward, beginning to report about Severus, but strangely did not give any vital information. He only said that he was a good student and that he liked trouble all the time.
"That's it? That's all you have to say?" Vicência Santos seemed a little indignant at Dumbledore's words. He had given nothing useful.
"That's all I have to say." He replied with a smile, while she looked at him in disbelief. Everything indicated that Dumbledore had been captured by Severus Prince and remained imprisoned for months, but never really told what happened.
"Anyway, let's continue with the others." The Supreme Chief said in the end, while the others also began to speak along with the Minister, bringing much more precise information.
They reported both Severus's power — who didn't even need a wand — and his shadows, which moved like a personal army, and many said they came out of his feet... They were so powerful that some were superior to all wizards, with speed and strength that would make even a vampire or werewolf envious. Not all of them used magic; they attacked with physical but deadly blows, after all, they had killed hundreds of wizards.
The chieftain began handing out several papers about what had happened in that abandoned place before the final conflict between Severus and Voldemort.
"For heaven's sake..." Said the old man in horror at the images.
"Was this what was left of those wizards who tried to catch Severus Prince?" The gnome commented, looking at the corpses in the images, while the entire place was full of them, all torn apart and unrecognizable.
"We believe this to be the work of one of his shadows, as these wounds were made by claws. They are very large, according to everything indicated by the injuries on the corpses." She said in a neutral tone.
"But this is what we are dealing with." The elderly man couldn't help but grow more worried.
"Anyway, we have to catch him, don't we? So let's prepare for it." Said the vampire with a sigh at the end, she knew it could be a mistake, but now she imagined it was about the danger they were getting into.
"All right. Before we start with the strategy and you leave... let me introduce all of them, formally." Said the Chieftain, while pointing at each one, since no one there yet knew each other.
"The vampire is an ancestral vampire of 800 years. Her strength and speed are among the most powerful in the world, she does not follow Dracula's orders. Her name is Lady Phiness Nocturna."
"At her side is the gnome, who has the power to foresee the future and is one of the most powerful seers that ever existed. His name is Grymok Eternal-Gaze, and he is part of the strategy."
"Here we have Princess Thalindra, the princess of a kingdom I cannot speak of, as it is secret. She is here in service of the Kingdom, for this kingdom has always had the function of protecting this world."
"At her side we have Lord Archmagus Elowen Tharros, a wizard of great knowledge, almost as powerful as Dumbledore. He is also the princess's advisor and guardian."
"On the other side we have the princess's personal guard, Darius Korran, versatile in weapons, with a mixture of Muggle and magical techniques."
"Lastly we have the elven children. They are different from house-elves, as you can see. They have no binding contract, but are part of an extinct race. Only these two exist in this world. They are extremely powerful, but do not be fooled: both are over 100 years old, despite their appearance. Their names are Kaelith Sylorin and Lyanna Sylorin."
"Hello!" They both said, smiling in a childlike way at the group in front of them.
"This is the most powerful squad in the world. Dumbledore should have been part of it, but he refused years ago." Vicência couldn't help but comment.
Dumbledore said nothing, he only gave everyone a smile.
"Well, let's start putting together the strategy." She said in the end, when Dumbledore, the minister, and the other officials left the room, leaving only the chieftain and the sentinels.
"What do you think about this, Grymok?" She spoke to the gnome, who seemed thoughtful before his eyes turned white the next moment.
"There he goes again..." Said the boy, Kaelith.
"He's foreseeing the future..." His sister said beside him.
"This will be the key to finding Severus Prince and arming against him." Vicência spoke with satisfaction.
As she said, the squad is full of people with unique talents, not just brute force. They can form strategies that make them unstoppable. Vicência looked satisfied.
After all, it was she who wanted to form the squad to destroy anyone who wanted to harm the world — or a Dark Lord arising as powerful as Grindelwald.
Severus Snape appeared to be just as powerful, which is why the squad was summoned to Great Britain after all that confusion.
The gnome returned to normal soon after, opening a satisfied smile. "Well... it seems I already know where he will be tonight. So, would you like to go capture the Dark Lord today itself?"
With that, everyone nodded.
Meanwhile, Severus once again left his home and ended up in one of the Muggle neighborhoods scattered across London. A man answered the door as soon as he arrived at a specific house, seeing him standing at the entrance.
"Hello... who are you?" The man asked cautiously, not knowing the stranger.
"Sev? Sev, you're here!?" Suddenly exclaimed a young woman coming down the stairs, with platinum hair and blue eyes.
"Hello, Pandora. I came to see you." Said Severus, as she opened a wide smile.
"That's great! Father, let me introduce him. This is my fiancé, Severus Prince, as you saw in the newspaper." She said, happily grabbing his arm.
"Severus, this is my father, Cassius." She said.
Severus raised his hand and greeted him.
"Hello, Mr. Cassius. I am here to meet you and also to officially ask for your daughter's hand in marriage." Severus declared, while the man still remained paralyzed before the revelation.
