Chapter 311 - Chapter 310 - Death.

[Chapter Size: 2300 Words.]

Third Person POV

Great Britain.

...

...

Severus felt his body collide against the buildings, gritting his teeth, unable to do anything due to the force of the impact, which showed no signs of decreasing.

It was only after a dozen buildings were destroyed, one after another, that his trajectory finally began to slow down. He stopped in an area far from the city, quite distant from the crater he had created earlier.

That blow did not seriously injure him, but even so, Severus frowned as he felt something approaching at extremely high speed.

Steve was not using magic. It was pure hand-to-hand combat and physical strength. His golden eyes shone intensely as he advanced toward Severus, who was no longer unprepared, so he raised his fist and attacked Steve.

In a fraction of a second, both collided. Their fists crashed head-on, creating a colossal impact.

The shockwave caused the isolated buildings around them to collapse instantly, being thrown far away in several pieces, devastating everything around.

The helicopters in the sky did not fail to notice it and quickly aimed their cameras at the location that had just suffered a shockwave.

"The battle isn't over… what's happening down there?" That was the question everyone was asking.

Back to the battlefield.

Severus and Steve moved apart again. There was no more conversation. This had become a battle where only one would survive.

Severus advanced.

Steve as well.

In the next instant, both disappeared from view, turning into two yellow and blue blurs that traced lines at extremely high speed as they crossed the city, colliding with each other repeatedly.

The cameras in the sky could only capture flashes of light crossing the city at absurd speeds. In one moment, they were already on the other side, exchanging punches and destroying everything that was still standing after Severus's large-scale magical attack.

The entire world went into shock when the images began to be broadcast again. The city, while the world had barely begun to celebrate the destruction of the ice monsters, was being destroyed once more.

"What's happening?"

"Weren't the white monsters from the comet already defeated?"

"Why is Severus still fighting? Who is he fighting?!"

The questions arose one after another. The battle was so chaotic that not even the transmission equipment could keep up with the true speed of the two. All that could be seen were impacts, explosions, and absolute destruction left long after they passed through the locations.

Severus maintained a serious expression as he moved his fists at extremely high speed. Steve reacted with the same precision, without even showing a smile. Even so, little by little, it became clear that one side was gaining the advantage.

And it wasn't the ruler's.

Severus finally found an opening in the exchange of blows and threw a punch straight at Steve's face. The impact made him vanish into the air, being launched against the destroyed buildings, crashing through one after another until finally coming to a stop at a distance.

Steve slowly got to his feet, spat blood onto the ground, and wiped the blood from his broken nose.

"I forgot that you still have certain abilities," he said calmly.

At that moment, Severus activated his stealth and clustering ability. His speed increased drastically, and his body became invisible as he advanced at high speed. His physical and assassin abilities had still not been removed by the system.

Only his magic had been sealed.

Steve prepared himself and quickly predicted where Severus would attack from, throwing a punch. At the instant the blow should have hit him, Severus ducked, creating another opening in Steve. The ruler took a direct punch to the stomach, being violently hurled toward the ground.

Before he could even react, his body slammed into the soil, and he was dragged in a straight line, opening a huge trench with the impact itself.

Severus did not stay still. He kept advancing, preparing to attack again and not let the ruler recover. However, when he reached the end of the destruction caused, a gigantic fist suddenly emerged.

The punch hit Severus squarely, sending him flying backward. He slid across the debris, braking with his feet, while his eyes fixed on that enormous hand. That was no longer human. The arm glowed golden and wore an armor.

When the smoke dissipated, he could see Steve. His body was injured, apparently still in human form, but one of his arms remained gigantic, the same one that had attacked Severus.

"Well, it seems I can no longer fight in human form. You are more powerful than me in it. Let's take this to the next level," he declared.

Steve's body began to grow, being coated in golden armor. His form was no longer human. Severus knew that appearance very well. Six wings began to emerge from his back.

That was the complete form of a Ruler, exactly as Severus had seen in the images from the past of the Shadow Monarch.

The ruler stared at him as a sword appeared at his side. Severus sighed and raised both hands. Two daggers appeared in them.

Beginning of the Flashback -

"My lord," Bellion had approached him on the same day Severus took the army of shadows to an isolated place in search of answers when he appeared in his hometown.

"What is it, Bellion?" Severus asked calmly, while observing the enormous dark army in front of him.

"There is something with me that should belong to you," Bellion said, making Severus narrow his eyes.

"And what would that be?"

"I don't know. It was simply left with me at some point. I only know that when we returned to this world, it was here, and I knew it should belong to you."

Bellion then materialized a box in his hand and placed it in front of Severus. When he opened it, Severus's eyes widened.

They were his old daggers. The same ones with which he had fought to the death in the time of the Order.

His old daggers had returned.

End of the Flashback -

Back to the present, Severus firmly held the two daggers. They were extremely durable and more powerful than the ones he had acquired after defeating Baran's simulator. These daggers were created from a metal forged in the fusion of stars. There was nothing stronger than them in this world, except for the staff the ruler wielded.

The ruler observed this and seemed satisfied. He raised his sword, preparing for combat. Severus did the same.

The ruler's complete form was over five meters tall.

Without any warning, both advanced.

Once again, a golden line and a blue line crossed the destroyed city at extremely high speed, colliding repeatedly with weapons instead of fists. The sword clashed against the daggers, while both sought to open a breach in one another.

In the village.

Even in the village, everyone began to gather, trying to understand what was happening when a new battle began in the city. Concern quickly spread among those who knew Severus.

No one knew exactly who was fighting, and not even the cameras could capture the movements clearly. Even so, for a brief moment, some reported having seen something with wings.

In England.

Now, both were fighting directly against each other.

Severus noticed the difference immediately. He was losing. That was clear. Facing the ruler in that form was extremely difficult, and he was at a disadvantage.

The fight continued, and Severus noticed his body becoming more and more injured.

"You won't be able to defeat me like this."

The ruler's voice was the same as when he was in human form, Steve, but now it carried a far more oppressive power.

The battle dragged on for some time. Severus still tried to create an opening, but realized it would not be easy. Each blow he received wounded his body deeply, and he could not use healing magic nor rely on his shadows.

At a certain moment, both moved apart. The ruler did not attack. He merely analyzed him.

"If you don't defeat me, Severus, you will die. You'd better take this fight seriously," the ruler said.

Severus had no physical advantage. He was weaker than the ruler; that was evident. His magic points were blocked, his abilities sealed. There was no way to gain the upper hand… or so it seemed.

Suddenly, the system beeped.

Severus looked at the screen. The word ERROR flashed before his eyes. Then, he saw his remaining points being automatically distributed among strength, speed, and dexterity.

More than 200 in each attribute.

He raised his gaze to the ruler. He did not seem to express anything, as if he were completely unaware of the system points being distributed automatically.

"Well," was all Severus said.

In the next instant, he advanced at maximum speed, even catching the ruler by surprise. Steve moved quickly and managed to defend himself from Moro's daggers, and a new battle at extremely high speed began.

The ruler said nothing, but seemed surprised by the sudden increase in Severus's physical power.

Severus increased his acceleration even further as he pulled away, crossing the city in an instant. Then, he returned at even greater speed, managing to wound the ruler's arm.

Seeing the opening, Severus advanced.

However, the ruler's body glowed in the next instant. Severus found himself completely immobile for a single second.

He used magic...

It was enough.

The ruler twisted his body and moved his sword. Severus could not react. The blade pierced directly through his human heart, stabbing into the chest of the Shadow Monarch.

"I must admit, I said I would use magic again, Severus. You truly surprised me," the ruler said, the sword still embedded in his chest.

Severus stared in shock, coughing up blood, unable to believe what had happened.

The sword was pulled out, and blood gushed freely. Severus fell to his knees, teeth clenched, staring at the ruler.

Steve merely stepped back a few paces and observed him, as if reflecting on something… or perhaps simply waiting for the outcome.

Severus was dying...

His eyes slowly closed, and total darkness took over everything.

"Now it's up to you, old friend." He still heard Steve's voice in the midst of the darkness. Then, he felt everything change.

In the next instant, Severus found himself surrounded by the same darkness he had seen at the moment of his death. Even so, he was not dead. He was not injured from the battle. He was wearing the Slytherin uniform, and everything lit up...

He was in Hogwarts, seated at his house table.

"What is happening?" he murmured, stunned.

The first thing he noticed was that he felt different. Thinner. Physically weaker. Even so, his power was immense within him, as if his body was not used to containing it.

But no one seemed to notice this.

"Hey, Snape, are you alright? You look scared." A mocking voice appeared at his side.

Severus turned his face and saw someone he swore he had killed. Mulciber. A student he used to walk with in the group, a future Death Eater, whom Severus had murdered in Voldemort's trap with Juggernaut.

"What is he doing here?" he thought.

His eyes swept across the hall. Avery was there as well. Regulus Black, seated at the Slytherin table. Some watched him with curiosity, while laughing and making whispered comments.

"Am I dead?" Severus asked, barely realizing he had spoken out loud.

"What are you talking about, you fool?" Avery laughed.

Severus ignored him and lifted his head. He saw Clarisse sitting at a corner of the table, eating in silence. She did not even notice him, as if she no longer knew him.

Then, he turned his attention to the other tables. It was obvious. Severus was in his seventh year, seeing how much older everyone looked. Somehow, Severus was back in Hogwarts and in his seventh year.

He saw Pandora seated at the Ravenclaw table, chatting cheerfully with her classmates. That constant gaze upon him was gone, that habit of observing him in silence with a smile as if he were the greatest mystery she had ever seen in her life.

His eyes shifted to Gryffindor. Lily was talking with her friends, laughing at something Potter had said. Potter was beside her. Together.

Severus's confusion increased even further.

"That is not my world," he realized.

He ignored his housemates around him looking at him strangely, and his gaze rose to the head table. Dumbledore was smiling toward Gryffindor with a glimmer of hope.

It was clear that the name Voldemort was active there and everyone was preparing for war. Dumbledore was recruiting part of the Gryffindor students to fight against the Dark Lord, and the Slytherin students would be future Death Eaters, and everything indicated that he would be one as well...

The headmaster himself moved and slowly stood up, drawing the attention of some students, and remained silent, trying to process everything that was happening.

"Today is the last day for some of you at Hogwarts," Dumbledore began, with the speech he gave every year to the seventh-year students, on their final night at the castle.

Severus completely ignored the headmaster, observing his own hands.

There was no one there that he truly knew. That was not his Clarisse. It was not his Pandora. And it was also not the Lily he knew.

One moment earlier, he had been fighting amid the destroyed London against a celestial being. In the next, he was there, in some kind of alternate world… or perhaps in a vision after death.

He did not understand.
