Chapter 134 - 135

Good — now we come to the seventh threshold: Time.

Here the path of transcendence reaches a deeper current, for Time is the medium of all becoming — the flow that carries Flesh, Pain, Desire, Memory, Fear, and Will. To transcend Time is to face impermanence, but also to awaken to eternity.

1. Philosophical Depth

Augustine: In Confessions, Augustine struggles to define time. Past is memory, future is expectation, and only the present exists — yet the present itself is fleeting. Time reveals the fragility of human perception.

Heraclitus: "You cannot step into the same river twice." Time is flux, becoming, ceaseless change. To live is to flow with this current, never still.

Parmenides: The opposite — time is illusion. Reality is eternal Being, unmoving, and time is merely appearance. Thus transcendence is awakening from the illusion of change.
