Is Lady Zhou really pretending to be foolish?
Lian Manman turned her head again, scrutinizing Lady Zhou. If she had suspected before coming that Lady Zhou was feigning foolishness, she was now certain that Lady Zhou was indeed pretending.
Lady Zhou's act was very convincing, but there were still flaws. Although the flaw was fleeting, Lian Manman had already been intent on investigating, so she caught it.
When she sat down beside Lady Zhou, she felt Lady Zhou's body tense for a moment. Immediately, Lady Zhou made a couple of erratic arm movements to cover up this slight loss of composure.
But that was enough for Lian Manman to make the correct judgment. Lady Zhou was mentally clear and fully conscious. Others getting close might not elicit a response, but Lian Manman was different. Lady Zhou was both resentful and wary of her, very unaccustomed to Lian Manman's approach.
