After the call connected, despite Shangguan Xiu's menacing glare threatening him, Nu Jian knew Shangguan Xiu would definitely not let him off easily.
However, he still didn't say what Shangguan Xiu wanted him to say. He calmly told An Xiaomian, "Your Highness, I'm very safe, I'm fine, don't worry about me, and don't risk coming over for me. Have Xiao Xiang take you to a safe place, then contact His Royal Highness the Prince. Other guards will come to protect you afterward."
Nu Jian's mission is to protect the masters within the Royal family.
So, even if he might die soon, his master could save him.
However, he couldn't allow his master to knowingly face danger to save him; that wasn't what he should do. Therefore, he didn't want An Xiaomian to come to his rescue.
