In a world where Dransart had fallen, his body was taken to a laboratory. A scientist prepared to sell his corpse for parts, but his assistant interrupted.
"Sir, there was something strange. When we examined him, his brain was missing."
The scientist frowned. "Impossible. You were in charge of the body until delivery."
The assistant shrugged. "We can't use brains for transplant anyway. Anyone who tried would be a freak."
The scientist dismissed it, removed a kidney, placed it in a suitcase, and left.
At High School
In the second-year, second section, students murmured about exams. The teacher entered, checked attendance. All were present—except Dransart.
"It's been a while since he attended," the students whispered. "No one knows what he's doing now."
At lunch, groups split: one planned a beach trip, another a hot spring, another teased bullies who once tormented Dransart. A fifth group of girls spoke of confessions and love, but one girl sat silent, distracted.
Evening
The girl lingered after class. A boy, once part of the group that bullied Dransart, approached. They met at the teacher's door, both asking why Dransart hadn't come.
The teacher sighed. "I don't know. I was busy with exams. Here is his address. Visit him."
On the way, the girl asked, "Why visit him? You bullied him."
The boy replied, "I want to apologize. I know now what it feels like to be bullied. I want him to return to school. What about you? Are you his girlfriend?"
She shook her head. "No. I answered one of his questions wrongly. It frustrated me. I want to give him the right answer."
They reached his house. An uncle told them, "He was murdered by thugs."
Shock. Tears.
At the Hospital
The scientist's suitcase reached the operating theatre. The kidney was transplanted. The patient survived.
In ICU, he opened his eyes. It was Dransart's father.
Saved by the organ of his own son, he thought, I was spared… by someone who died.
Thus, in this world, Dransart's absence left grief among classmates, regret among enemies, and a strange miracle—his father living on, carrying a part of him. The missing brain remained a mystery, hinting that Dransart's fate was not yet sealed.
