Professor Hu walked to the most secure single ward in this area and gently pushed open the door.
Zhuang Ruyu lay on the white sheets post-delivery, her complexion not particularly pale. Beside her, a nurse was standing by. Zhuang Ruyu looked to the right; through a glass panel, she could see the newborn lying in an incubator in the adjacent room, which had to be within her sight.
All of this was enough to show how stringent Zhuang Ruyu's precautions were, almost airtight.
Upon seeing the professor enter, the nurse moved to the other side.
Professor Hu pulled up a chair and sat by the patient's bedside, asking in an inquisitive tone: "I made sure they didn't tell your family the truth. Is that okay?"
"It must be done this way." Zhuang Ruyu blinked her eyelashes lazily, postpartum fatigue in her eyes, yet hidden in her deep pupils was a hint of ruthlessness. "If you can't deceive your own, how can you deceive others?"
