Pei Yiting realized something was wrong with Xia Yueqing when he called her in the evening.
"Why do you look so pale? Are you feeling unwell?"
"It's nothing, I just haven't recovered from the smell of lamb. I'll be fine after some rest." He was on a work trip, and Xia Yueqing didn't want to alarm him.
But Pei Yiting obviously didn't believe this comforting excuse.
"Are you experiencing morning sickness again? Aren't the sour plums working?"
Pei Yiting didn't know if every new dad worried so much at the beginning, but he couldn't stop being concerned.
Besides worrying about Xia Yueqing feeling unwell, he also had to remain vigilant about Zhen Shuangyan, fearing she would cause trouble again.
"No, don't overthink it. I'll feel better after drinking some hot water."
She didn't see herself as that weak.
Pei Yiting moved his lips but didn't dwell on the topic, gave a few reminders, and quickly hung up the phone.
