A few words from Chow Yun caused the courtyard's mistress and several elders, as well as the villagers who came to watch the excitement, to reveal looks of shock.
"Smallpox?" The mistress of the courtyard first called out in surprise: "Girl, is your madam the Female Bodhisattva everyone talks about?"
This outbreak of smallpox was widely known, except in remote areas, and "Sande Village" was relatively fortunate, having not been affected, but the villagers had still heard about it.
They never expected that the Female Bodhisattva, who was the talk of the town, would one day visit their "Sande Village."
"Elders," Chow Yun spoke again: "My master is concerned for my lady's recent overexertion. He wants to take her out for a relaxation and would like to remain undisturbed. We kindly ask the elders and villagers to accommodate us. If it's not possible, we will leave."
