Under the moonlight's soothing touch, they transform into trees, shedding the troubles of the mortal world. Though they lose the freedom of their physical bodies by rooting into the ground, they gain a spiritual freedom.
The forest hasn't done anything wrong, but with too many people in this city wanting to become trees, it has expanded too quickly. The dense "trees" have encroached upon human activity zones, and those bathed in moonlight have faces that, serene and peaceful, lie by the windows, with limbs growing in every street and alley.
