Chapter 102 - Taking pets for a walk

Once Oscar was done cooking for Team RWBY and Team OPFC, he waited for everyone to go to sleep.

He then made a [Shadow Clone] and went outside.

He uses [Shadow Step] to go to the place in the System Menu.

He used the Dungeons Key, and walked in.

He saw the Grimm there, Lizard Man Grimm.

Oscar was gonna fight them, but he stopped. "Actually".

He actives his system as he saw the monster Menu.

Ding!

Oscar whistled softly.

Nyx slipped out of his shadow first, stretching like she'd just woken up from a nap. Cerbie popped out right after, all three heads looking around with curious energy.

"Why don't you two level up," Oscar said, stepping back.

Nyx's eyes glowed faintly as she looked at the Lizard Grimm. 'Finally.'

Cerbie's tails wagged fast, all three heads letting out small, excited growls.

The Grimm noticed them.

They hissed.

Low. Aggressive.

Oscar leaned against a broken pillar, arms crossed. "Go on."

Nyx moved first.

She vanished—

And reappeared right in front of one of the Lizard Grimm.

Shadow Step.

Her claws slashed across its chest before it could react.

The Grimm roared, swinging wildly—

But shadowy serpents burst from Nyx's body, wrapping around its limbs and dragging it down.

Cerbie charged in right after.

All three heads opened their mouths—

Fire burst out.

Not huge, but fast and wild, hitting the Grimm at close range.

The creature screeched, stumbling back.

Oscar watched quietly.

'Good… they're not hesitating.'

Another Grimm lunged at Cerbie from the side—

Nyx reacted instantly.

She jumped in, claws glowing faintly with venom, and struck its neck.

The Grimm staggered, its movements slowing.

Cerbie took the chance.

All three heads snapped forward—

Bite.

The Grimm dropped.

Ding!

Ding!

[Cerbie has leveled up → Level 2]

Oscar smirked slightly.

"Not bad."

Nyx flicked her tail, clearly pleased. 'Of course.'

Cerbie bounded over to him, all three heads looking up like he expected praise.

Oscar crouched and patted him. "Yeah, yeah. Good job."

Cerbie's tails wagged even faster.

More Grimm started to gather in the distance, drawn by the noise.

Oscar stood up, rolling his shoulders.

"Alright," he said calmly. "Round two."

Nyx grinned.

Cerbie barked.

And the hunt continued.

More Grimm crawled out from the shadows.

Lizard types. Bigger this time.

Oscar narrowed his eyes. 'Good. More EXP.'

He stepped back again, giving them space. "Don't rush. Think."

Nyx didn't answer—she was already gone.

Shadow Step.

She appeared above one of the Grimm, claws glowing, and slammed down on its back. The impact forced it to the ground as shadow serpents wrapped around its body, tightening.

The Grimm thrashed—

Cerbie rushed in from the side.

One head used Fiery Breath, forcing the Grimm to stop moving.

The second head bit into its neck.

The third snapped at its leg, keeping it pinned.

Teamwork.

Oscar nodded. 'Better.'

Another Grimm charged straight at Cerbie—

This one faster. Smarter.

Nyx reacted late—

Oscar's eyes sharpened—

But Cerbie didn't panic.

All three heads locked eyes with the Grimm.

Ding!

[Puppy Eyes Activated]

The Grimm slowed—just slightly—

Enough.

Cerbie jumped back, leaving a trail of shadow mist behind him. The Grimm ran straight into it—its movements turning sloppy and disoriented.

Nyx appeared behind it.

Slash.

Venom sank in.

The Grimm dropped.

Oscar let out a low whistle. "That's fast."

Nyx landed lightly, tail swaying. 'They're weak.'

Cerbie barked happily.

Then—

The ground shook.

Oscar's smile faded.

'…That's not normal.'

The smaller Grimm scattered.

Something bigger was coming.

A low, heavy growl echoed through the dungeon.

Oscar slowly reached for Crimson Fang.

"Alright," he muttered.

Nyx's fur stood on end.

Cerbie's playful energy vanished, all three heads focusing forward.

From the darkness—

A massive Lizard Grimm stepped out.

Twice the size.

Thicker armor.

Glowing red eyes.

Ding!

[Name: Lizard Alpha]

[Level: 25]

Oscar exhaled.

Then smirked.

"…You two want a challenge?"

Nyx grinned. 'Finally.'

Cerbie growled.

Oscar pointed forward.

"Show me."

Nyx vanished—

Shadow Step.

She reappeared above the Lizard Alpha, claws already coming down.

Claw Strike.

Sparks flew as her claws scraped against its thick scales. Not a clean cut—this one was tougher.

The Alpha roared and swung its tail upward—fast.

Nyx disappeared again just before impact.

Shadow Step.

Cerbie jumped in.

One head opened wide—

Fiery Breath.

A blast of fire hit the Alpha's chest, forcing it back a few steps.

It growled, digging its claws into the ground to stop itself.

Then—

Nyx appeared behind it.

No hesitation.

She inhaled—

Dragon's Roar.

A shockwave exploded from her, slamming into the Alpha's back.

The force sent it forward, balance broken.

That was the opening.

Cerbie charged.

All three heads lunged at once—

Ding!

[Triple-Headed Fury Activated]

Bite.

One head clamped onto its shoulder.

Another locked onto its side.

The third went straight for the neck.

The Alpha roared in pain, thrashing violently, trying to shake him off—

It slammed its body into the ground—once—twice—

Cerbie held on.

Nyx moved again.

Her claws glowed with venom as she dashed in, striking the same wound points Cerbie had opened.

Poison seeped in.

The Alpha's movements slowed—just slightly—

Oscar's eyes sharpened.

'Now.'

"Finish it!"

Nyx leapt back—

Cerbie jumped off at the same time—

All three heads opened wide—

Fire gathered—

Fiery Breath—Full Output.

A concentrated blast hit the Alpha point-blank.

The Grimm let out one final roar—

Then collapsed.

Ding!

Oscar let out a breath, lowering his sword.

"…Damn."

Nyx flicked her tail, clearly satisfied. 'Told you.'

Cerbie ran over, all three heads panting happily.

Oscar crouched, patting him again. "You're learning fast."

Then he looked at Nyx.

"And you're getting stronger than I expected."

Nyx smirked slightly. 'I always was.'

Oscar stood up, glancing deeper into the dungeon.

The air felt heavier now.

Like something else was watching.

He narrowed his eyes.

"…Alright," he muttered. "I think that's enough for today."

For once—

He decided not to push further.

Oscar called them back in his shadow. "I will take care of the Dungeon".

He walked further in the Dungeon and cleared all the Dungeon monster.

It was record time, he was Level: 64 after all.

Once he arrived at the boss.

It was an easy kill, but he wanted too test something out.

He pulled that's Skill out again

Ding!

[Azrael - Special Skill:

Effect: Allows the user to impose the concept of Death on any being, regardless of their immortality or resistance to death. This includes entities that cannot normally die through conventional means, such as immortal beings, gods, and other immortals.

Usage Notes:

The skill directly targets the concept of existence, bypassing all physical, magical, or natural defenses.]

Oscar let out a slow breath.

"Let's see what you really are…"

The dungeon grew quiet.

Too quiet.

Even the fire and distant sounds felt… muted.

His grip tightened on Crimson Fang.

Then—

Ding!

[Azrael Activated]

The world changed.

Not visually—

But something shifted.

The air felt heavier.

Thicker.

Like reality itself was watching.

Oscar's blade turned black.

Not dark—

Black.

Like it swallowed light.

The Boss Grimm roared and charged. Massive. Fast. Violent.

Normally, Oscar would dodge. Counter. Analyze.

This time—

He didn't move.

He stepped forward.

One swing.

No technique.

No force.

Just—

A cut.

The blade passed through the Grimm.

No resistance.

No impact.

For a moment… nothing happened.

Then—

The Grimm stopped.

Mid-motion.

Its body didn't break.

Didn't burn.

Didn't bleed.

It simply…

ceased.

Like it had never been alive to begin with.

Ding!

[Boss Eliminated]

No struggle.

No death animation.

Just… gone.

Oscar stood there, frozen.

"…What the hell…"

His hand trembled slightly.

The blade returned to normal.

Ding!

[Warning: Energy Critically Low]

Oscar staggered.

"Shit—"

His legs almost gave out as a wave of exhaustion hit him like a truck.

5% energy.

5% stamina.

Just like the description said.

Oscar leaned against a wall, breathing heavily.

"…That's not a skill…"

He swallowed.

"That's cheating."

Nyx's voice echoed quietly. 'No…'

Even she sounded serious.

'That's authority.'

Oscar closed his eyes for a second.

'Yeah…'

He exhaled slowly.

"…I'm not using that again anytime soon."

Ding!

[Dungeon Cleared]

[Rewards Granted]

Oscar didn't even check.

Right now—

He was more concerned about one thing.

"…What exactly did I just unlock?"

The next morning came.

Blake and Oscar sat at their usual spot.

Oscar had a cup in his hand. He hadn't touched it.

Blake leaned back slightly, watching him. "So… that's what happened."

Oscar nodded once. "Yeah."

There was a pause.

Blake exhaled. "Well… at least now you know what that skill does."

Oscar let out a dry laugh. "Yeah. Turns out it deletes things from existence."

Blake didn't smile.

"…That's not funny."

Oscar rubbed the back of his neck. "I know."

He finally took a sip, then stared at the cup like it offended him.

"It didn't feel like a normal attack," he said. "No impact. No resistance. It just… decided the fight was over."

Blake's ears twitched. "That's the problem."

Oscar glanced at her.

She met his eyes. "That kind of power doesn't follow rules."

Oscar leaned back in his chair. "Yeah, well, neither does half the stuff I can do at this point."

Blake shook her head. "No. This is different."

She tapped the table lightly.

"Your other skills enhance you. This one… overrides everything."

Oscar went quiet.

"…Yeah."

Nyx's voice echoed faintly. 'Even I don't like it.'

That alone said enough.

Blake crossed her arms. "How much did it take out of you?"

Oscar held up his hand. "Dropped me straight to five percent. I could barely stand."

Blake frowned. "Then it's not something you can rely on."

Oscar smirked slightly. "Wasn't planning to."

She gave him a look.

Oscar raised both hands. "Okay, okay. Emergency only."

Blake relaxed a bit. "…Good."

Another pause settled in.

Then she spoke again, quieter this time.

"…Oscar."

He looked at her.

"If something like that starts changing you…" she said, "you tell me."

No jokes.

No teasing.

Just serious.

Oscar held her gaze for a second.

Then nodded.

"…Yeah."

Blake leaned back again, tension easing just a little.

"Good."

A beat passed.

Then from the dorm—

"OSCAR! BREAKFAST!"

Oscar closed his eyes. "…Of course."

Blake smirked. "Your real final boss."

Oscar stood up, grabbing his cup. "Honestly? Way more dangerous."
