Pierre Beaufoy was a wealthy French man who inherited his family riches. He's the owner of the infamous French couture known as Beaufoy. This boutique has been pass down for generations. It was first established in 1758 when his great-great-great-great grandfather, Philippe Beaufoy, wanted to create beautiful dresses for his wife, Laura.
Dorothea Richter was the princess of a German criminal. After being blackmail with crucial information, the Beaufoy family arranged a marriage between Pierre and Dorothea. This allowed the criminal to obtain some of the monetary benefits that the Beaufoy family gain.
Although love was not mentioned, it soon was found between the pair as they grow old together.
