Chapter 83 - DREAM SEEKING

Through her long journey across space, Corvex spends her free hours reading digital love dramas, immersing herself in romantic tales while imagining her ideal man, one who is strong, brave, level-headed, tall, handsome, and capable of Ultra Thinking or beyond. She sets her standards impossibly high, believing herself to be a woman of unmatched worth, one of one in the universe.

Before meeting the man of her dreams, she wishes to study love itself, to understand it, to master it. So she travels from planet to planet, meeting men for dates, practicing affection, and improving her social awareness. She experiments with romance in every form, holding hands, sharing conversations under the night skies, practicing kissing, but she never crosses the line of physical intimacy. To her, that act holds the highest value a woman possesses, something sacred and never to be given lightly.

After each encounter, she brings her partners aboard her ship to take a small DNA sample, combining it with her own to create children through artificial wombs. These children are always returns to their fathers' care.

Yet time and again, disappointment follows. No man matches her ideal vision.

In her ship's quiet chamber, Corvex reviews recordings of her countless dates—analyzing gestures, tones, and body language. On one screen, she compares her own kissing footage with cinematic scenes from love dramas, trying to reach a perfect 100% technique match.

She sighs and says, "Most men fall too easily for a woman like me... the phase of love chasing always ends too soon. They're simple, craving whatever that pleases their eyes and bodies, without caring for the essence of a woman."

She walks slowly through the illuminated corridors of her ship, deep in thought. "But some," she admits softly, "do try to find love."

On another digital screen, she opens the recording of one of her past encounters—a man of lower status, chosen deliberately to test her theory.

"I've always handpicked the highest of men on every planet," she murmurs. "But this one... I wanted to see if all men were truly the same."

The audio plays:

Man: "I don't want to rush things with you. I'm not your casual man who'll kiss on command or give you my DNA because you ask. I'm here because of you, your drive, and your personality . You're the woman I admire. But I want to fall for you for who you truly are. I want a real kiss of love when the time is right."

Corvex: "What is a real kiss?"

Man: "When you asked me before, I looked in your eyes… there was no emotion of love or lust, no spark at all. A real kiss happens when two hearts connect. A real love's kiss can lead to a wonderful family, to something lasting. Love must be earned, not easily given, most important of all, real love takes time."

The audio cuts off.

Corvex leans back, reflecting. "Even a lesser man has more wisdom in love than most men of high status. The strong, the powerful, they always drown in lust. But those with little… they yearn for something deeper."

Her gaze drifts to a digital screen showing the vast universal World Tree, countless planets spinning like jewels among cosmic branches.

"But the universe is vast," she whispers with a faint smile. "Somewhere out there… my ideal man exists. I still have time."

Years later, at the age of twenty-eight, Corvex finally meets the Watchers, the higher mortal society that oversees the outer edges of God's Kingdom and controls the spectating for the Star games for all mortals of the universe. She is then gifted a ticket to witness the 107th Star Games.

From her ship, she watches the spectacle unfold, the universe's most gifted mortals clashing for godhood. Each contestant radiates power, intelligence, and ambition. Many of them embody the traits she has spent her entire life searching for, charisma, strength, discipline, and passion. Yet, as she watches them fall, one after another, dying glorious but meaningless deaths, her heart aches.

"These are the men I've been looking for," she whispers, eyes trembling as another one perishes. "And they're throwing their lives away... chasing Godhood."

Her determination only grows stronger. She becomes obsessed.

Later, Corvex accepts a date with one of the Watchers, a man of power and status. He is intelligent, calm, and possesses Ultra Thinking, yet physically unimpressive, short, average-looking, and lacking the aura she desires. Most Watchers are like him: brilliant minds housed in unremarkable bodies.

Using her charm and precise emotional control, Corvex pretends to fall in love. She studies him, his mannerisms, emotions, and, most importantly, his technology. Eventually, she marries him briefly, gaining access to the Watchers' secret dimensional tech, a system that allows travel between the branches of the Universal World Tree.

Once she gathers what she needs, she divorces him and leaves him behind , venturing into the worlds that was once unreachable for her.

Years pass.

Corvex's technology evolves with her. Her body no longer ages, preserved in perfect youth, forever radiant in her mid-twenties despite being well into her thirties.

On countless planets, she meets men who match her physical and intellectual ideals—warriors, scholars, kings, and adventurers. Some even wielding Ultra Thinking, yet every time, her heart remains still, not being able to feel any connection of a spark.

One night, lying on her bed in her spacecraft, she stares blankly at the ceiling, her thoughts heavy.

"I've found everything I ever wanted… but why doesn't this heart of mine sway for any of them?"

Her gaze shifts to the nearby table. A digital book lies there, softly glowing. The title reads: "Soulmates."

She gestures, and a line of digital code lifts the book into her hands. She begins reading, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Soulmates… such foolish ideas. And yet… as time passes, the more I believe... it might be true. Maybe there really is.... only one meant for me."

She flips the page and murmurs,

"Linked by fate… but when do I know I've found them? Only time will tell....."

More years passes as Corvex continues her journey through the vast branches of the World Tree Universe, never finding her destined partner. Yet her legacy grows, immense and unstoppable.

Across thousands of planets, she leaves behind children born through artificial wombs, each infused with her DNA. They inherit her brilliance and strength, becoming rulers, innovators, and leaders at impossibly young ages.

By the time she turns forty, entire civilizations across the stars hail her as the Space Lord, a divine mother whose offspring reshape their worlds. Many advanced planets even seek her out, offering resources and technology to "Tech breed" with her lineage, hoping to birth prodigies like those who have come before.

And yet, despite her fame, despite her legacy, she remains alone.

At age forty-three, Corvex sits in her cockpit, gazing at the endless stars beyond her window. Her youthful face is untouched by time, but her eyes are tired.

She whispers to herself,

"Love takes time… they say.... but I'm running out of time. Maybe… there isn't anyone for me out there."

A silence follows, long and still before determination returns to her eyes.

"Then so be it... I won't delay any longer. I'll join the 110th Star Games… and I'll win it all. I'll create my ideal soulmate and avenge my people. I'll become the Goddess of Love and Freedom."

Her ship roars through the cosmos, descending deep into the lower roots of the Universal World Tree.

At last, she reaches a dying planet known as Predia, a refuge for the exiled and those who have loss their home planet.

But Predia is famous for all broken mortals through out the universe to join together as a team to the Star Games and claim a new destiny.

Her spaceship lands on a small town in the desert, surrounded by countless other ships. She steps out, her eyes locking onto a massive timer glowing on the tallest building, it counts down the time until the next Star Games.

Corvex walks toward the building, passing through a sea of competitors. At the front desk, a robotic worker greets her.

"By stamping this symbol onto you, you will be considered a mortal from Predia. The entry fee is 1,000 Dia-coins or Digi-coins."

She hands over a heavy bag of coins.

"We will keep your belongings safe if you wish to return," the robot continues. "But if you fail to return by the end of the games, everything you own will become ours."

She signs the digital contract, then joins the crowd as a giant Star Gate begins to awake. The portal swirls with cosmic energy.

Suddenly, three strangers approach her.

"Space Lord Corvex, it's an honor to meet you. I am Ambros, and we would like to join your team."

Corvex turns to him with interest,

"I know who you are, the mortal who dreams of creating the first universal restaurant. I assume that goal is beyond mortal reach?" she says calmly.

Ambros laughs. "You're right. I'll need infinite resources to make that dream real. The best way to get them is to become a God myself. Someday, I'll spread my food across all universes."

Corvex responds,

"I see. I, too, seek a dream. I don't mind teaming up."

The second person bows. "I am Rudi. I wish to become a god so I can reunite with my family and my home planet that was destroyed by God."

The third steps forward. "I am Vesper. I've experienced all life can offer. The only thing left for me is Godhood."

As their voices echo, others around begin to whisper and gather closer. More and more people notice Corvex, eager to follow her.

"Silence!" Her voice cuts through the noise. "If you wish to come with me, obey my commands and stay together. That's how we survive until the final stages of the games!"

The crowd falls silent, instantly obeying her authority. With unwavering confidence, Corvex turns and leads her new team into the swirling Star Gate, as her image is the reflecting image of her father, Zius.

During the first stage of the Star Games, Corvex materializes within the ruined lands of Doom planet. The air trembles with chaos as she defends herself against a wave of Star competitors, beating them to death with her fist. Blood and dust mix beneath her boots as she wrenches a rusty trident from the ground, arming herself for what's to come.

She moves carefully through the wreckage, searching for her scattered teammates. Explosions echo in the distance, the world burns with the fury of countless battles. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she notices something unusual, bodies of Stars flung high into the air as if by an invisible storm.

Drawn by curiosity, Corvex sprints toward the chaos and stops. There, amid the smoke, stands Nox cutting down opponents with terrifying grace. His movements are precise, fluid, almost poetic. Every motion, every strike, captivates her.

Her pulse quickens. Her heart pounds.

"This feeling… I've never had this before. Is this love at first sight?" she whispers, her voice trembling.

She takes a hesitant step forward, butterflies rising in her stomach with every move closer.

"Come on… this is the moment you've waited for all your life," she mutters to herself, trying to gather courage.

But before she can reach him, the ground beneath Nox begins to glow. In a flash of light, his figure vanishes, teleported away.

"No! Where did you go?!" Corvex cries out, sprinting to the spot. She drops to her knees, digging through the glowing soil with her hands. After a moment, she stops, her breathing heavy. "I'll find you again… eventually," she whispers, determination flickering in her eyes.

Days later, Corvex travels through the eastern forests, accompanied by what remains of her team. They reach a small village—now burning under the assault of an empowered Lars. Once the coast is clear, they sneak in and scavenge whatever supplies they can salvage.

There, they encounter Hans, a boy radiating a faint silver glow. He steps forward and says calmly, "You won't survive out here for long. Soon, the world will be consumed by darkness. Come with me if you wish to live."

Corvex studies his expression, her eyes narrowing. "You're too young to lie so easily… How do you know what's coming?"

Hans reaches out and touches her hand. A surge of moonlight energy flows into her, flooding her mind with visions of an encroaching darkness.

She gasps, staggering back. "The kid's telling the truth… Fine. It's best we work together."

Hans smiles and leads them toward the World Tree, where Soma grants them his powers.

When the world finally succumbs to darkness, Corvex and Hans stand side by side, fighting off hordes of nightmarish creatures. Soon, Ortis and Yuri arrive at their base and convince them to unite. Together, their forces grow stronger, merging moonlight and sunlight into a radiant power that pushes back the shadow.

Amid the endless war across the Dark Lands, Corvex spots Nox again, high above, battling fiercely with pure magic. But before she can reach him, everyone is swallowed by darkness.

When the light then returns, Corvex awakens amidst the aftermath. In the distance, she sees the Dark Lady still fighting the survivors.

She's about to join the fray when her gaze catches Nox once again. He stands silently among the other stars, calm and composed while others weep. His focus doesn't waver. His aura radiates quiet strength.

Moments later, Corvex's heart flutters violently. She trembles, torn between courage and fear.

Then she sees Hans speaking to Nox. That small sight gives her courage. Taking a deep breath, she straightens her back, forcing a confident smile.

Act tough, she tells herself.

"Don't look weak!"

She approaches him with careful steps, her voice steady as she compliments him, trying to sound bold, though her heart races.

Nox listens but offers little reaction. Without a word, he turns and walks beside Hans, leaving Corvex standing in silence.

Her shoulders drop, and she exhales shakily. "He plays so hard to get… No one's ever made it this difficult!" she mutters, both frustrated and fascinated.

Her intrigue deepens. With renewed determination, she follows after them, until later she's on the prismatic floating village, where a vast rainbow portal awaits.

Moments later, Corvex materializes within God's Arena, in the far distance, she spots Ambros, Judi, and Vesper still alive, standing together in another section of the arena.

Soon in an instant, she's dragged into a massive cube-shaped arena, its walls carved with glowing sigils. Standing far before her is the Angel Abaddon, wings stretched wide, as he's ready to do God's unique reset.

Corvex's eyes narrow in fury. "That's him… I'll avenge them all!" she shouts.

She charges, but Abaddon's radiance overwhelms her. A single strike pierces through her defenses then silence. Her body dissolves into light as God resets her existence.

Later Corvex finds herself in the Kingdom of God.

There, in the quiet golden streets, she sees Nox—alone, his back turned.

For a moment, her heart races. She hesitates… then gathers every ounce of courage she has left.

Walking toward him, she clears her throat and says softly, "Can we get some coffee?"

Nox glances over his shoulder, his expression calm. "Sure," he replies simply.

Corvex keeps her face composed, refusing to show how much the answer means to her. But inside, her heart soars, happier than it has ever been.
