"Ah——!"
On the far western side, in the First Submarine Fleet, the terrified screams raised at the sight of countless falling meteors were abruptly cut off.
A total of eighty-eight whale oil shrapnel bombs whose tips carried a faint blue glow were, under the Fire Control System and Byron's auxiliary targeting, roughly evenly allocated to thirty Sail battleships of Fourth Level and above.
Every Third Level Ship took three; even the least-hit Fourth Level Ship took two.
The heavy bulwark built of fine oak, in front of shells that could pierce solid iron armor, might as well not have existed at all.
The fuze's inertia lock disengaged, the tip deformed and ignited the primer, and the cheap propellant extracted from whale oil released a colossal volume of gas, its volume swelling ten millionfold in an instant.
