Dusk is now running through the Flembern Forest with full speed since it's a dangerous place crawling with unknown monsters.
"I thought this was supposed to be barren land according to the books in the human kingdom's library. I don't see how this is barren." Leon asked as he looked around the forest and noticed birds and small animals running through.
"According to humans, wherever they don't live is a barren land, Master and every unknown thing is either a Monster or an Angel.
So, I won't believe in that." Dusk replied with a neutral tone as he continued to run.
"What did you say the name of this forest again ?" Leon asked with a confused expression.
"Flembern Forest, Master." Dusk replied.
"If this place hasn't been discovered by the humans, how come it has a name ?" Leon asked with a confused expression.
"Dwarfs have a hobby of travelling around the world and so do the Elfs... Maybe one of them named it." Dusk replied.
"Flembern... Sounds more like a name that a human would come up-" Before Leon could've completed his sentence, he felt something on the back of his neck.
He immediately bent backwards and noticed a very sharp string made out of metal pass very closely to his nose.
"Dusk STOP." Leon shouted and without wasting another second, Dusk's claws stabbed the ground and he came to a sudden stop.
"What happened Master ?" Dusk asked with a confused expression as he looked around scanning for any potential threat.

"Calm down now, Dusk. You are the one who rang the dinner bell for her." Leon spoke with a smile as he focused his eyes on the steelweb spider.
"W-What !? When did I do that ?" Dusk asked with a shocked expression.
"Spiders can immediately sense it when someone touches their web and she is observing us carefully because most of the time when this happens, most of her prey are found dead or half-dead when she arrives here." Leon spoke with a smile as he waited for her to make the first move.

And without wasting another second, the steelweb spider spitted out the green toxic waste from her mouth that flew towards Leon with full speed.
But it wasn't fast enough to hit him and he easily dodged it by stepping aside.

Although when the toxic waste hitted the tree behind him... It melted the tree's trunk immediately.
"Well... we don't have to get hit by that." Leon spoke as he turned to look at the steelweb spider.

Without giving him any breaks the spider spitted three more projectiles towards him and all three of them were coming at him from different directions.
"Well... Isn't that just great ? She can throw..." Leon started speaking as he turned to left then turned to the right immediately and dodged two of them easily.
"... multiple spit balls at us." He then sucked down and dodged the third one as well but some of it still fell over Leon's shoulder and instantly burned through his clothes.

"Shit... It burns like hell." Leon spoke as he felt the it on his shoulder.
Since Leon never turned off the recovery skill he still had hundred plus stacks on it that helped him heal the wound instantly but the burning sensation still stayed on his shoulder because some of it was still stuck on his coat.
"You bitch... You burned my clothes, eat this." Leon spoke as he threw a six hundred seal imprinted bead towards her.

But before the bead could've covered even half of the way, she threw a spit projectile towards it and melted it in the middle of the air.

"No... Stay back. You can't see her webs, if she pulled out one mid-battle you will be dead before you can blink." Leon ordered with a serious expression.

The steelweb spider threw three spit projectiles towards him with full speed and all of the them were coming at him from all possible dodging angles.
But Leon wasn't idiot... He immediately jumped back and ducked down in order to dodge all the projectiles.
'Her eyes see everything and her reflexes to anything that is coming at her from the front or back are too fast.
She spits and melts any potential threat mid-air. That's one intelligent monster.' Leon thought with a serious expression as another idea popped in his head.
"Dusk... Collect all the stones near that tree." Leon ordered as he immediately started collecting stones from the ground while dodging the steelweb spider's webs.
"Y-Yes, Master." Dusk spoke as he immediately started collecting stones with his mouth, even though he didn't knew what Leon was trying to do... He didn't doubt his orders and followed them without any question.

As soon as he turned around, there was a lady with four wings coming out of her back, sitting near a huge tree and she was crying while hugging the tree.

There were black vines over her neck just like the cursed fairies and they were choking her.
"You are the last hope..." The lady spoke as she disappeared.
"What ?" Leon asked with a confused expression as he turned around and noticed seven cursed fairies standing behind him.

Leon immediately woke up from his dream and sucked in a lot of air into his lungs.
"What the fuck !?" He spoke with a serious expression as he looked around the house and noticed light coming in from the windows.

"You are awake... Dusk." Leon spoke with a surprised expression.
"Thank you for saving me from those monsters, Master." Dusk spoke as he immediately bowed his head to Leon.
"How are you feeling ?" Leon asked as he looked at him.
"I feel better than last night master but my body needs mana to heal and I can't sense even a tiny bit of mana inside this house." Dusk replied as he looked at Leon.
"The whole village is covered with the protection runes... They protect the village from cursed fairies and also negates the mana regeneration." Leon replied with a neutral expression as he looked at dusk and stood up from the ground.
"Should we leave master ?" Dusk asked with a confused expression.
"Yes... But first, I will heal you completely." Leon spoke as he opened the door and walked out of the house.
As soon as he walked out, Leon noticed all the villagers stopped working as soon as he walked out and started looking at him with confused expressions.
Leon didn't pay them much attention and started walking forward.
Dusk stepped out of the house behind Leon and everyone in the village stepped aside with worried and scared expressions on their faces.

The old man is boiling some water over the firewoods and he is staring at the fire with a blank expression.

"I am coming." Orion replied as he immediately stood up, grabbed his stick and started walking towards the exit gate.
As soon as he exited the house, he noticed that Leon and Dusk are walking towards the village boundry.
"Are you leaving young man ?" Orion asked with a confused expression as he looked at Leon.
"Is it a problem ?" Leon asked with a neutral expression as he looked at the old man.
"Can I talk to you before you leave ? In the house ?" The old man asked as he looked at Leon.
"Sure." Leon replied as he immediately started walking towards Orion's house.

Orion is sitting on his chair and he is sipping some warm water while looking at Leon who is sitting right across him on the table.

Dusk is sitting right next to Leon and he is looking around the house with a neutral expression.

"You are the first visitor that we have came across in the last fifty years or so and it's a miracle.
I think it's god's will that brought you here, because your timing couldn't be any better." Orion replied with a smile.
"How is that ?" Leon asked with a curious expression.
"You see... when the day comes up, we are free to get out of the village and venture into the forest to hunt and get food.
But for the last few years, most of our males are not making it to the village safely. Once the sun sets... The cursed monsters come out and hunts them down." Orion explained.
"So... What do you want me to do about that ?" Leon asked with a confused expression.
"There are thirty eligible females in this village and only six males. If you count me and two others out... only three of the males are eligible out of which two of them are children and only-"

"I thought you were leaving me behind." Mia replied as she looked at Leon.

As all the villagers walked back to their houses, one of them turned around and noticed something odd.
Instead of walking towards his house, Leon was walking towards the fairies.

All of them immediately stopped and turned around to look at Leon.
"Oh no..." Mia spoke as she immediately ran towards Leon.
"Hey, Hey, Hey... Stop. You can't go there, if you listened to their voices, you will go crazy. Didn't you hear Oliver ?" She asked as she immediately grabbed Leon's hand and stopped him from going.
But the fairies kept staring at him as their mouths continued to move in a silent manner as if they were chanting some kind of spell.

These were the words that I was able to understand from the repeated sentences of all those cursed fairies and I think, I have a rough theory of what's happening.

"No, I was watching you the whole time while hiding behind that house. You aren't hearing any voices in your head are you ?" Mia asked with a worried expression as she walked upto him.
"Unfortunately no. I guess, I won't be dying anytime soon." Leon replied with a smile.
"Hey don't say that... I don't want you to die before you take me out of this stupid village." Mia replied with a smile as she sat right next to him.
"Hey, I think... The cursed creatures that you fear so much were once good creatures and then something turned them into these monsters.
Although it's just a theory... But, what do you think ?" Leon asked with a curious expression as he looked at Mia.

'When did he get here ? I didn't hear any noise. I didn't feel his presence. He is like a ghost.' Leon thought with a serious expression as he immediately used his skill on him.

"Mr. Leon ? Are you alright ?" Orion asked with a suspicious expression as he stood up from his place and started walking towards him.
"Oh... I am good. I-I just heard the chants of those cursed creatures and they are just disturbing me now." Leon replied with a neutral expression as he looked at Orion.
"Wait... You heard their chants ? Oh my god, do you need any help ? I can help you with it. I have a herb that can-"
"I can deal with it. Don't you worry." Leon replied with a neutral expression as he acted completely normal.
