Chapter 2954 - YuGioh 7

No, it's still too early. Even with its impressive 3000 ATK points, Battleguard King wouldn't get past your Dragoon right now. It would be the biggest fool's move to negate his summon just for him to pull out a Raigeki or another surprise.

Joey simply continues to grin, unfazed, as he proceeds with his move. "And now I equip my Battleguard with Axe of Despair! Bringin' his attack points all the way to 4000!" Joey cheers along with his friends, their voices echoing with excitement. The monster's strength surges, a fierce aura surrounding him as he prepares to crush your Dragoon as a demonic axe replaces its club.

.

----------->

.

Now, the question is— is this the moment to pull the plug on his little celebration by negating his Axe of Despair? Or do you hold your ground…

You tell yourself it's on the off chance Joey had a Stop Defense or some other trick up his sleeve—that negating his summon would be the biggest mistake you could make then. But deep down, you know you're just curious to see what he can really do.

You had walked into this match expecting to mop the floor with him. You knew he must have had some skill to get this far, to beat Mai. But maybe it was just his reckless attitude but you had gotten the impression he was just a small dog barking at the big boys' table. But as you look at his hulking beast, a part of you can't help but wonder—how far can Joey Wheeler really go?

"Heh, come on then, Joseph! You said you were gonna destroy my Dragoon, didn't you? Or are you too scared of my face-down?" you taunt, eager to see if he'll back down at the final hurdle. Your grin widens as Tea and Tristan shout words of caution, but you remain confident.

Joey stares at you, his expression suddenly serious. "…Nah, I made you a promise, didn't I? That monster of yours is going down here and now!" he declares, his voice firm. With a confident smirk, he throws his arm out. "Go, Battleguard King! Battleguard Wrath!"

His Battleguard charges forward, raising its axe high above its head before bringing it crashing down like a guillotine, destroying your Dragoon.

Even as your pride twists inside you at witnessing such a crude monster take down your prized card, a smirk still touches your lips.

"Heh, my Dragoon has one more trick," you say, voice steady. "When it's destroyed, I can summon my Red-Eyes from the Graveyard!"

Your dragon reappears, roaring back to life.

"Ha! Bring out all your monsters, Makoto! Me and my Battleguard King will knock 'em down one by one!" He shout, ending his turn with confidence.

.

----------->

.

You take a deep breath, looking up at the balcony, watching Tea and her friends comment about how impressive it was that Joey had taken down one of your ace monsters when it had taken all Yugi had just to tie with one.

Your pride wrinkles even more as you look around, witnessing Mai up there as well, then your thoughts drift to the women watching at home, spectating, judging, wondering if this is all you can do.

…It was time to take the kids' gloves off, put Joey in his place and show everyone once and for all who the king was here.

You draw, getting Polymerization.

.

--------->

.

As much as you wanted to pull out a fusion here and wipe him out in one devastating move, you knew it wasn't the right play. If you attempted to crash your Plague Dragon into Joey's Battleguard King, you'd risk losing before its effect could even activate to destroy his monster. And your Plagueghost? It did nothing here to turn the tide. Plus, you weren't confident enough to risk a new fusion—some of your previous fusions, like Plague Archfiend, turned out to be total duds.

So, instead, you calmly set two cards face-down—Mirror Force and Polymerization—and end your turn with a steady hand, eyes locked on Joey. "Let's see if you can keep this momentum up, Joey," you call out confidently. "I've got a few tricks up my sleeve."

Joey just smirks, clearly feeling confident himself. "Oh? You on the backfoot now, Makoto? Looks like this dog's got some bite after all!" he taunts, a cocky grin stretched across his face. But you remain calm, letting him enjoy the moment. It only makes your eventual victory all the sweeter.

.

---------->

.

Despite his newfound cockiness, Joey still bit his lip nervously as he carefully inspected your field, his eyes lingering on your face-down cards. He seemed wary, aware that you might have something dangerous waiting.

"Heh, I think I'll play it safe for now," Joey announced, his voice steady but with a hint of hesitation. "I set one monster face-down and end my turn." One of his monster zones lit up as he placed a card there, signaling his move.

You couldn't help but feel a flicker of annoyance at his cautious play. Maybe you should have called his sister a dumb whore with a fat ass who you were gonna breed a litter of puppies inside—just to get him riled up and make a mistake—but that probably would have crossed a line, and ruined whatever friendship you two had.

No, it was better to stay composed. The game was still firmly in your grasp, and now was the time to stay patient.

.

------->

.

You smirk as you draw and get Lightning Vortex.

Heh, who knew the universe awarded good behavior?

.

------->

.

"You know, Joey," you say with a calm yet commanding tone, "looks like this is the end for you. You didn't quite make the cut, huh?" Your smirk widens as Joey scowls in response.

"Oh yeah? Well, what's your plan, tough guy? In case you haven't noticed, none of your monsters even come close to mine!" he shouts, throwing his arm out dramatically.

You chuckle softly, shaking your head as if pitying him. "Ah, Joey, didn't Yugi teach you anything? Battle isn't the only way to deal with problematic monsters," you say, your voice dripping with confidence.

Joey flinches at that, clearly expecting the worst.

You'd say you hate to do this to him, but that'd be a lie.

"This may be a bit off-brand for Hades," you declare, "but needs must. I activate Lightning Vortex! By discarding one card from my hand, I can destroy all face-up monsters you control!" You roar the declaration as Joey jolts back in panic, and you discard your card—your boys.

As the lightning roars and pours down, you almost swear you hear some baaing amidst the thunder.

Finally, the storm subsides, and you see Joey's Battleguard King reduced to ash. Slowly, he begins to tip backwards, and Joey jolts, panic evident on his face.

"Hold up, big guy! At least lean the other way—!" Joey desperately calls out just before his monster falls onto him, dealing 2000 damage and wiping out the last of his Life Points.

Good. Next up: Yugi. Then Pegasus.

This is it—the moment to cement your dominance, to prove once and for all that YOU are the King. Before the day is done, there won't be a soul who doubts your reign.

300 DP from defeating Joey

Joey Trait revealed:

Friendship: If supported by your friends while on the backfoot once per duel you can pick your draw during your DP.

Standard (Weak): If on the verge of losing once per duel you can roll a die of all the cards in your deck that will save you, add that to your hand instead of your normal DP.

-x-X-x-

As much as you wish Pegasus would just call Yugi down so you could finish this up, he called for a quick recess after your victory over Joey. Tch, damn TV commercials…

Welp, a bit of time to relax wouldn't be remiss, you suppose. With that in mind, you left your pod and made your way back through the winding hallways of the castle, heading toward the upper balcony where the others were watching the duel unfold.

But as you arrived, you saw Joey coming from the opposite side, walking straight toward you with narrowed eyes and purpose in his step. Heh, you suppose you deserve what's about to happen.

You stop and smirk as Joey approaches, immediately winding back his arm and clocking your right cheek—even as the others gasp in shock.

"...I know you like to play mind games, but keep my sister outta it, ya hear?" Joey growled with a deadly seriousness in his tone.

You just chuckle softly, reaching up to rub your cheek before raising your hands in mock surrender.

"Heh, sure thing, Joey. Had to get you to stop playing defensively somehow, ya know?" you explain with a grin. Joey breathes out slowly, calming himself.

"...I get ya, but if you ever mention her like that again, I won't let ya off with just a punch," he warns, a firm look in his eyes. You just chuckle again, appreciating his loyalty.

Heh, it's a good thing you stopped yourself at the end there.

With the air cleared, you turn your attention to Yugi, smirking. "Hope I don't need to worry about you punching me when I beat you, Yugi," you tease.

Yugi blinks in surprise at your sudden focus. "A-Ah, of course not! Win or lose, there won't be any hard feelings!" he says with a nervous smile, but your annoyance begins to rise at his casual attitude.

Narrowing your eyes, you step past Joey, shoving him aside as you approach Yugi. Placing a firm hand on his shoulder, you grip him tightly.

"No," you growl, voice low and dangerous. The others behind you gasp at your sudden hostility. "That's not the attitude you need to bring to this duel, Yugi. I know you're the type to play for the love of the game rather than pride, and I respect that. But here and now? With your grandpa on the line and dueling against me? If you don't step into that arena with the same seriousness as in the cave, I'll destroy you."

Yugi looks down, discomfort clear on his face. "I—I'm not sure if I can. You're my friend now, and you're fully in control of yourself—"

You shift your grip, moving your hand from his shoulder to his throat and tighten your grip around it, pushing him against the railing as the others start shouting in shock behind you. You ignore their protests, eyes locked onto Yugi's surprised gaze.

"...If that's how you feel, then listen to me. When I beat you, I'm taking that Puzzle from around your neck. Remember what I told you after you lost to Kaiba? When I came for your Puzzle, I'd win it off you. And that time is now, Yugi. If you don't come for my throat, I'll kick you into the dirt and steal everything from you," you hiss, a malicious smirk crossing your face. "Maybe even your life, depending on how much you annoy me. Hades would definitely like that."

You shove Yugi away and turn sharply, heading back toward the Duel Arena.

"If you're too scared to duel me, then run away now. Come down to that arena with anything less than your best, and you won't be leaving alive!" you shout over your shoulder as you disappear around the corner.

There. If that didn't motivate him, you didn't know what would.

Walking along, you feel a presence step beside you. Turning, you see the Spirit of the Ring with a malicious grin stretched across her face.

"Ooooh~ Quite the speech. I must say, I didn't think you had it in you. So, do you plan to follow through with your promise?" she purrs, rubbing her shoulder against your arm.

You consider it for a moment—whether to seize the moment and grab the Puzzle here and now. But ultimately, your words come slow and deliberate.

"Depends on him. If he steps into that arena and holds back at all, I'll rip the Puzzle from his neck right then and there—for insulting me. Otherwise…"

You trail off, unsure how to fully put into words how you feel.

"I'll let him keep it. Yugi's here because of Pegasus. If I won the Puzzle now, it would feel too much like reaping the benefits of another man's effort. When I do claim Yugi's Puzzle, it'll be solely based on my own merits. I want him to know it was me who tore it away from him—no one else," you declare.

Hades stirs at your words, but you can't quite decipher his feelings. The Spirit of the Ring, however, rolls her eyes in annoyance.

"Of course, I'm bonded to an honor-bound mage. If you change your mind, feel free to ask for my assistance~," she teases before disappearing.

Honor? No, this had nothing to do with honor. Everything you've done is for pride. If, after a hard-fought battle, you claim Yugi's Puzzle here and now, it won't satisfy you the way you need it to.

Finally, you arrive back at the Duel Arena, where Yugi stands ready, face serious and determined.

You smirk at him. "Heh, looks like you're taking my words seriously, Yugi! Good. Let's see if you can keep that up during the duel, eh?" you yell, as Yugi takes his place and shuffles his deck.

"...I understand the stakes all too well, Makoto. I promise you here and now I will win this duel!" he declares with resolve.

Good.

"Then let's get started, Yugi!" you bark, turning your eyes to Croquet and Pegasus. "Start the duel now! Screw the commercials!"

Croquet nervously adjusts his tie. "The recess is still in effect for a few more minutes," he says.

You growl at that, glaring at Yugi, Croquet, Pegasus—anyone who dares to get in the way and waste your time.

Luckily, Ruby whispers promises of sin into your ear, what you'll do once you win this tournament, keeping you entertained. Finally, Croquet raises his voice.

"Duelists! The time has come for the final match! Let the game begin!" Croquet announces hurriedly.

Finally—this is it.

"I think I'll start us off, Yugi!" you shout, confidently drawing your opening card. As you see Mirror Force in your hand, a smirk spreads across your face. Nice, a solid start—if you're going to put Yugi in his place, this was a great way to set the tone.

.

----------->

.

"I'll start by setting two cards face-down and ending my turn! Let's see if you're ready to go for my throat, Yugi!" you taunt, your grin widening as excitement courses through you. The anticipation of the duel, the thrill of victory—it's all fueling your adrenaline.

.

-------->

.

Yugi smirks as he looks at his draw.

"To start, I'll activate my Pot of Greed! Allowing me to draw two more cards!" Yugi announced, his smile growing wider as he inspects his new cards.

"Hm, let's see if you remember how our last duel went, Makoto!" Yugi declared, summoning his Horn Imp in Attack Mode and commanding it to attack your set Germ. The Imp leaps forward, slashing through your Germ with a determined attack.

For some reason, Yugi just smirked even as his Life Points were lowered by your Germ's effect, and you summoned a second copy.

Your eyes narrow, suspicion creeping in. What was he playing at? Was he trying to throw you off by mirroring the start of your previous duel?

Seeing your expression, Yugi's smirk only widens.

"What's wrong, Makoto? You seemed bothered by something," he says with faux casualness, setting a card face-down.

Your gaze hardens, your mind racing. What game is he playing? You refuse to be thrown off.

"I don't know what game you're trying to play here, Yugi," you say sternly, voice low but intense, "but I can assure you it won't work."

Yugi chuckles softly, a calm yet confident look in his eyes. "Why don't you show me, then? I end my turn," he declares, crossing his arms as he waits, the quiet confidence in his stance only fueling your own determination.

The duel is heating up—each move more calculated, each word a subtle challenge. The tension thickens, and you know this match is about to get even more intense.

.

------------>

.

You click your tongue as you draw, your heart pounding in your ears. Your eyes lock onto the card in your hand—Trap Hole. A slow smile spreads across your face, confidence rising anew.

…Heh, you didn't think there was anyone on earth who could make you feel like this besides Kaiba, and for once, you're glad to be proven wrong.

.

---------->

.

"I'll show you all right, Yugi!" you declare, a fierce grin spreading across your face. "First, I change my Giant Germ to Defense Mode, and then I summon my Anotherverse Gluttonia!"

A hulking, eldritch being with three arms, each clutching a tiny universe, materializes on your side of the field. Its cosmic presence radiates an ominous aura, signaling that one of your oldest bosses is back in full force.

"Go on, Gluttonia! Dimensional Collapse!" you shout with excitement, watching as your creature focuses its energy into the miniature universe it holds. A blinding beam erupts from the mini universe, streaking directly toward Yugi's Horn Imp.

Yugi's smirk only widens, unfazed by your attack. "It seems you don't remember our last duel, Makoto," he says calmly. "I activate my spell! Monster Replace, allowing me to replace my Horn Imp with the strongest monster in my hand—"

.

------------>

.

Rather than worry, your feral grin deepens, eyes gleaming with anticipation. You're confident this duel isn't over yet—you've got a surprise of your own, and you're ready to turn the tide in your favor.

"Ha! I can assure you, Yugi, I remember our last duel more than you could possibly ever know!" you sneer, voice dripping with confidence. "I activate my trap card, Dark Illusion! I can negate one card effect that targets a DARK monster on the field! And last I checked, your Horn Imp is DARK, isn't he?"

Yugi's eyes widen in surprise as you declare your move. Before his Horn Imp can vanish, the static surrounding it fizzles out suddenly. You watch with satisfaction as your Gluttonia's beam pierces straight through Horn Imp's chest, destroying it and dealing 1200 damage to his Life Points.

"Didn't you hear me, Yugi?! I told you if you didn't go for my throat, then I'd end up stealing everything you have—and I meant it!" you roar, practically trembling with the exhilaration of having brought him low. "Don't think those tricks will work on me again!"

You set your Trap Hole and Rites of the Underworld, eyes gleaming with anticipation, watching as Yugi steadies himself on his feet.

.

--------->

.

He looks at you with a serious expression, unwavering. "...I apologize, Makoto. It was foolish of me to expect you to fall for the same trick twice. I promise you here and now, I will come at you with everything I have!"

He raises his fist toward you, a fierce resolve burning in his eyes.

Good. When you brought him low, you didn't want him to have any excuses. This duel is far from over, and you're ready to finish it on your terms.

TRAIT ACTIVATED!

Yugi's serious expression remains as he stares intently at his draw, a palpable aura of power radiating from him, sharpening your senses to the surge of magic on the field.

"To begin, I'll activate my Graceful Charity!" he declares, drawing three cards from his deck before discarding two with calculated precision. "And then I'll activate my Dark Hole! Wiping out all monsters on the field!"

.

----------->

.

The void swirls ominously as the black hole begins to suck in everything—your Gluttonia, Giant Germ, and any other monsters you would have had summoned. You realize you need to act fast to turn the tide before your field is completely wiped out.

"Not so fast, Yugi! My Gluttonia traverses dimensions more fierce than your Dark Hole could ever dare to approach as a morning walk! He's unaffected by your spell!" you shout, desperately improvising, hoping your reasoning sounds convincing enough.

To your relief, Gluttonia begins to float casually in the air, unaffected by the black hole's destructive pull. It looks like your gamble paid off.

However, your grin is short-lived as your Germ is destroyed, dealing 500 damage to your Life Points. You grit your teeth, feeling the sting but knowing the game isn't over yet.

"Hmph! Not bad, Makoto," Yugi says with a hint of respect, "but let's see if your Gluttonia can stand up to the might of my Dark Magician!"

.

------------>

.

You know that activating your Trap Hole could turn the tide—if it works. But is it worth risking one of your last line of defense? This is the moment to decide: will you play it safe or go all-in for the win?

"Fuck it," you mutter through gritted teeth. "Let's see if he even needs to, Yugi! I activate my Trap Hole!"

A pit opens up beneath Yugi's Dark Magician just as he prepares to make his move. For a moment, it looks like your trap might land the hit—until Yugi's smirk widens.

Yugi's Dark Magician floats effortlessly over the trap, a smug grin spreading across its face that mirrors Yugi's own. "Getting desperate, Makoto? One of the first tricks any good magician learns is simple levitation. I'm surprised you'd make such an amateur mistake."

The Trap Hole snaps shut beneath its feet, and you can't help but feel a flicker of annoyance at Yugi's cocky smirk.

"…Just continue with your move, Yugi," you bite back, glaring. "Unless you're afraid of the power my Gluttonia can unleash on your Dark Magician."

Yugi nods, unfazed. "Very well, Makoto! I will activate my Swords of Revealing Light, then set two cards face-down and end my turn!"

.

-------->

.

Damn. With those swords in place, he's stalling for more cards—and with three turns of protection, he's got time to set up or counterattack. You realize you need a new plan, fast, because right now, your options to deal with his Dark Magician are limited. The pressure is mounting, and every second counts.

As you draw your card, a sudden presence on your back makes you stiffen. You feel Ruby materialize behind you, her warm breath brushing against your ear.

"Hmm~ Need some help, babe?" she purrs softly, her voice both teasing and reassuring. You glance down to see Young Petty Magician in your hand, ready to lend her power.

"Perfect timing, as always, Hot Stuff," you whisper back with a smirk, feeling a flicker of confidence reignite within you.

You carefully consider your options, knowing that with Ruby's support, you might just find a way to turn this game around.

.

---------->

.

You smirk up at Yugi, even as Ruby quietly disappears from your back, leaving you feeling more confident.

"Heh, I think for now I'll just set two cards face-down and end my turn, Yugi," you declare with a malicious grin. "You gonna do anything, or just stay hiding behind your swords like a coward?"

Your voice drips with mockery, confidence surging through you now that Ruby's presence has bolstered your resolve. If she managed to beat Kaiba, then she was more than capable of taking on Yugi.

You swear you hear a faint chirp in agreement right by your ear at that.

.

-------->

.

Yugi ignores your taunt, a smirk curling across his face as he carefully picks up the top card of his deck.

"If you want me to go on the offensive, Makoto, then so be it!" he declares confidently. "I activate my Brain Control, targeting your Gluttonia!"

Suddenly, a disembodied brain materializes on his side of the field, ghostly arms reaching out to seize your monster. Your eyes widen as you realize the danger, knowing Yugi's moves are always calculated and dangerous.

.

-------------->

.

"Not so fast, Yugi! I activate my Rites of the Underworld! Tributing my Gluttonia to summon forth my Hades! Lord of the Underworld!" you scream out as your Gluttonia disappears before the ghostly hands can grab him, absorbed into Hades' summoning circle before he crawls his way out.

Though even as his plan seemingly fails, Yugi just smirks. "I'm afraid to say, but you've gotten predictable, Makoto! Your strategy of using your Ritual or Fusion spells to transform your fierce monsters into even greater beasts when they are about to be destroyed is formidable, but it makes your moves clear to me! Now, I combo my set Polymerization and Monster Reborn to fuse together my Dark Magician and your Gluttonia!" Yugi announces, throwing his hand out.

The fool…!

"Hold it right there, Yugi! My Hades is the ruler of the Underworld! As long as he's on the field, you can't resurrect any of the monsters in my Graveyard!" you declare smugly, thinking you were about to stop Yugi dead in his tracks. But your annoyance only grows as Yugi's smirk widens.

"True, of course. Under normal circumstances, I couldn't even hope to challenge Hades in his own domain, but these aren't normal circumstances, are they?" he taunts, eyes turning to the Swords of Revealing Light still surrounding your field. You only now notice the shadows that normally surround Hades seem weaker.

Bastard!

"Don't be so cocky! Even weakened, it'd take much more than your swords to loosen my Hades' grip over the Underworld!" you roar out, Hades' shadows seeming to intensify for a moment in acknowledgment.

Yugi, the infuriating bastard he is, just nods his head in agreement to your words.

"Of course, it's quite fortunate then that I currently possess one of the greatest sorcerers to ever exist on my field, isn't it?" Yugi says as suddenly his Dark Magician lifts his scepter high, and a glow almost seems to surround his spell cards.

"With the assistance of my Dark Magician, and your Hades being weakened by my Swords of Revealing Light, my Monster Reborn has just enough power to defy your Hades' control of the Underworld! Now, come forth! Anotherverse Gluttonia!" Yugi declares, lifting his hand high into the air. You can only grit your teeth in frustration as your Gluttonia appears on his side of the field.

Though thankfully for your pride, he doesn't stick around for long, being consumed by a vortex along with Yugi's Dark Magician.

"Now! Come to me, Master of the Infinite Cosmos! Dark Master of Dimensions!" Yugi proclaims. Suddenly, from out of the fusion vortex, steps Yugi's Dark Magician—except its face is completely pale white, almost like a mannequin, wearing grand robes seemingly made from space itself.

.

---------->

.

As his monster takes its place on his side of the field, Yugi crosses his arms and smirks. "I told you before, did I not, Makoto? You've gotten predictable. With my Swords of Revealing Light in play, you were undoubtedly hoping to deal with my Dark Magician through other means, and the monster you used to beat Kaiba is undoubtedly a strong contender." He says with a smirk before throwing his arm out. "But I won't fall for the same trick that defeated Kaiba! I activate the effect of my Dark Master of Dimensions! Once per turn, I may send one monster on the field to a different dimension. But when it reappears, I take damage depending on its level. Now, go, my magician! Cast out Makoto's Old Vindictive Magician—Dimensional Banishment!"

Even with her card face-down, you're sure you hear Ruby start to growl before a tear in space opens above her, and she's promptly sucked in.

You grit your teeth even as Yugi continues to stand there with a smug smirk across his face. "Unfortunately, my magician doesn't have enough attack points to deal with your Hades, so for now, I have no choice but to end my turn," Yugi announces. As he does, another tear in space opens above your field, and Ruby suddenly falls out of it, landing on her plush rump, rubbing her ample behind as she stands back up—as she glares daggers at Yugi, whose eyes widen in surprise, obviously not expecting her new form.

"—Fucking rip out his spine, poke out his eyes since he obviously doesn't need 'em!" Ruby growls, Yugi having inadvertently touched a soft spot by calling her old.

Even as he blinks in surprise at her appearance and crude language, clearly able to hear her, you can't help but smirk in satisfaction.

"What's the problem, Yugi? Not who you expected? Let me introduce my Young Petty Magician!" you announce dramatically. Ruby deserved some flair considering this would be her public debut.

Ruby perked up, obviously realizing the same thing. "Oh! Oh! Hi, everybody! My name's Ruby! I'm the most beautiful thing that's ever existed. I like 'Koto and having fun! Oh! Hi, Bestie!" Ruby suddenly turned up to the balcony, waving her arms at Tea as she jumped.

"Look at me! I'm gonna be on TV!" she said cheerfully, forgetting she was supposed to be angry for a moment, while Tea awkwardly waved back, even as she looked at the others who just seemed confused.

'You do know most people probably see you as a standard hologram, right?' you telepathically said to her in amusement. Ruby suddenly pouted, realizing the same thing.

"Argh! That's not fun! How am I supposed to show off if nobody can see me move or understand me?!" she whines, turning to face you.

You just smirk at her. 'Trust me, babe. I'm gonna make sure the entire world sees you strut your stuff, and you can get some revenge while you're at it,' you communicate telepathically. Ruby suddenly looked over at Yugi, a malicious grin spreading across her face as she remembered why she was angry.

"Ooooh, you know just what to say to make a girl excited, Stud!" Ruby purred. Yugi began to look worried from the look she was giving him.

.

----------->

.

You start your turn, drawing a card and revealing Monster Reborn.

Good, this was always a useful card to have.

Heh, maybe if things went right, you could show Yugi what it felt like to have his own cards turned against him.

.

------------->

.

You take a deep breath, knowing that rushing into your plan now could backfire, especially with Yugi's Dark Master of Dimensions lurking and the Swords of Revealing Light still shielding him.

"Hmmm, I think for the moment I'll just pass it back to you, Yugi," you say with a malicious grin. "But don't worry—once these damned swords are gone, you're going to feel the full might of my deck!"

Yugi narrows his eyes, clearly cautious but confident. He's aware that your patience means you're planning something big, and he's prepared for whatever move you'll make next.

The duel hangs in a tense balance, both of you waiting for the right moment to strike—each knowing that the next move could turn the tide of the game.

.

---------->

.

Yugi narrows his eyes, clearly cautious as he surveys the field.

"Hmph! I'm not foolish enough to let you build yourself up, Makoto. Go, my magician! Attack his Old—"

Yugi's words are abruptly cut off as Ruby's glare darkens further, her growl echoing with menace.

"Call me fucking old one more time, I fucking dare you," she snarls, malice dripping from her voice.

Yugi quickly swallows, realizing his mistake. "—Attack his Young Petty Magician! Cross Dimensional Spellcraft!" he declares, a series of portals suddenly opening in front of Ruby, charging up ominously.

.

---------->

.

Without warning, the portals unleash laser beams directly at Ruby, who growls in frustration.

"Heh, are you getting desperate, Yugi?! You've activated my trap card—Mirror Force!" you shout with glee, a triumphant grin spreading across your face as Yugi's eyes widen in shock.

The beams slam into an invisible barrier, which instantly deflects them—redirected straight toward Yugi's Dark Master of Dimensions.

"Dimensional Banishment, now!" Yugi commands, and his monster swiftly escapes into a portal just before the lasers could destroy it.

You smirk, confident. "Nice save, but once your magician reappears, you'll take 400 damage—leaving you with a measly 50 Life Points. That means you can't even activate its effect anymore!"

Your taunt is laced with excitement, victory seemingly within your grasp.

Yugi grits his teeth as he ends his turn, the portal closing behind his reappearing Dark Magician. The damage hits him, reducing his Life Points to a critical level—on the edge of defeat.

.

------------->

.

The tension in the air is thick as your hand hovers over the deck, heart pounding with anticipation. Victory is so close—almost tangible—and your mind races with the possibilities.

But then, a whisper slinks into your ear, smooth and seductive, voice dripping with dark promise. 'Hmm~ Why risk it, dear? Why not let me help out a little? With my help, your victory is assured~'

For a moment, you're tempted. The old you—the one driven by greed and the desire for easy dominance—might have eagerly accepted. But something has changed. You pause, weighing the voice's offer, feeling the weight of your own resolve.

You remember the vow made atop the castle, a silent promise to yourself not to rely on cheap tricks or shortcuts anymore—only to win through your strength, your skill, your will. Crushing Yugi, on your own terms, not by schemes or manipulations.

The Ring's dissatisfaction rumbles within your mind, warning of the consequences of failure.

'...Be that way then,' her voice whispers within the depths of your soul, 'but know this—if you lose here and prove yourself merely a fool with delusions of grandeur, my wrath shall be all-consuming.'

A shiver runs down your spine, but you suppress it, your resolve hardening. A smile curves your lips—no matter how feisty she may be, you're not the type to disappoint a lady. Especially not one as enticing as her.

You reach for your deck again, your hand steady, your mind clear. As you draw, an instinctive certainty guides you—your deck has answered your desire. You already know what's in your hand without looking, what card will turn the tide.

It's time. Time to show not just Yugi, but his friends, Tea, Mai, Pegasus, and the entire goddamn world—that you are the Best.

.

----------->

.

"I think it's about time I stepped this up a notch and ended this, Yugi!" you declare, your voice filled with unwavering confidence. Yugi's eyes narrow in response, ready for the challenge.

"Show me then, Makoto! If you can, that is!" he demands, a challenge that fuels your resolve.

"Alright then! Ruby! It's time to strut your stuff for the world!" you shout, excitement bubbling in your voice. Without hesitation, you slap down your Polymerization card.

"I activate Polymerization! Fusing together my Young Petty Magician and Hades!" you yell, watching as the portal erupts behind Ruby.

Ruby clicks her tongue in annoyance. "Tch, I suppose if it means getting my revenge on this twink, I can allow it. But don't make this a habit, 'Koto!'" she quips before jumping into the vortex, swiftly followed by your Hades.

"Now, come forth—the unstoppable queen of the dead! Ancient Lichqueen!" you roar, as Ruby emerges from the vortex, regal and commanding in her new form.

.

------------->

.

Even as she struts confidently, Ruby halts abruptly at your words, turning to you with narrowed eyes.

"...I'll forgive you this once because you're such a cutie, but it's JUST Lichqueen, 'Koto!" Ruby whines, her voice echoing with annoyance.

On the balcony, Tea facepalms, unimpressed by Ruby ruining her dramatic entrance. You smile apologetically at Ruby before focusing back on the duel.

"Now, it's time for you to face the true might of my deck, Yugi. I activate my Lichqueen's effect! Once per turn, I can destroy one monster on the field, then summon monsters from my Graveyard with a level equal or less than the destroyed monster! But that won't matter—because I'm ending things right here! Go, Lichqueen—Withering Vengeance!"

A necrotic gust erupts as Ruby points her staff at Yugi's Dark Master of Dimensions, a wave of destructive magic impacting the monster. You grin, certain that victory is here.

But then, Yugi remains standing, his magician destroyed but his Life Points untouched. Frustration tightens your fists.

"…You gonna tell me what sneaky trick you pulled, Yugi?" you growl through clenched teeth.

Yugi's smirk returns as he reveals a card—Kuriboh. "I merely had the assistance of one of my most faithful monsters. By discarding Kuriboh, I can reduce any damage I take to zero," he explains, smugness evident on his face.

.

----------->

.

Your jaw tightens.

"...Fine! Stall all you want, Yugi! But now, my Lichqueen's effect activates. Since she destroyed your level 8 Dark Master of Dimensions, I can revive monsters from my Graveyard whose level equals 8! And I choose-!"

"My Anotherverse Gluttonia! Return to the field!" you declare, and your mighty monster reappears, ready to turn the tide.

"Let's see what you can pull out of your hat now, Yugi! With only one card in your hand, let's see you even attempt a comeback!" you taunt, your voice dripping with certainty. You notice his hand twitch as he reaches for his deck, and a smirk curls on your lips.

Tea's voice rings out, calm but determined. "Yugi! I know you can do this! There's never been an obstacle you haven't found a way to overcome! We believe in you!"

Joey chimes in, "Yeah! You're the best duelist I know, Yugi! Show Makoto why you're the best!"

Tristan and Bakura add their words of encouragement, but Ruby pouts, eyeing Tea with a teasing, sultry look. "Bestie! Why are you cheering him on?! Cheer for me instead!" she whines, her voice echoing strangely.

Tea blushes furiously, caught off guard, before her face turns even redder as Ruby's words seem to project images into her mind.

"Hmm~ Doesn't that look better? Me and Makoto would treat you MUCH better as our cheerleader~" Ruby purrs, her voice seductive and commanding.

Your attention shifts back to the duel as Yugi speaks again, a confident smirk on his face. "Everyone, thank you. I swear I'll live up to your faith in me." Turning to you, he declares, "I'm afraid this game is far from over, Makoto!"

TRAIT ACTIVATED!

Yugi swiftly draws the top card of his deck, a smirk widening across his face. "To start, I shall summon my mighty Summoned Skull!" His monster appears, crackling with electricity.

"Hmph, what's your plan with that, Yugi? Your Summoned Skull doesn't have enough firepower to overcome my Lichqueen, and if you leave her be, she'll destroy him next turn and win me the game!" you point out, knowing Yugi's not foolish enough to overlook that.

Yugi responds, "Very astute of you, Makoto! You're exactly right, and that's why he won't be sticking around for long. I activate my Monster Recovery!"

Your eyes narrow, realizing what's about to happen.

"It seems you already know what this card does, but I'll explain for those less knowledgeable. By returning all monsters and cards I control to my deck, I shuffle and draw five new cards!" Yugi explains as he returns Summoned Skull to his deck and shuffles before drawing five new cards.

"Then I set three cards face-down and end my turn! Lets see if your brave enough to counter my strategy Makoto!" Yugi called out.

You narrow your eyes, grip tightening around your cards, sensing the danger lurking behind those face-downs. Yugi's recovery has shifted the momentum, and you know better than to underestimate his strategic mind.

"Damn it," you mutter under your breath, frustration bubbling up. "Right when I had him on the ropes, he pulls a comeback out of nowhere."

Your Lichqueen stands ready, her necrotic aura pulsating, but you remain cautious. Yugi's face-down cards could be any number of traps or spells—possibly even a counterattack or a card that could turn the duel against you in an instant.

.

----------->

.

You take a deep breath, centering yourself amidst the chaos of the duel. The stakes are high, and any mistake could cost you everything. Your focus sharpens as you draw your card, and a smirk forms on your face as you see your Magic Jammer in your hand.

Heh, it looked like your deck was just as determined to win as you were.

You swore you heard another faint chirp in your ear at that thought.

.

------------>

.

"Heh, to me, Yugi, it looks like you're the one on the back foot! If you summon any monster, my Lich Queen will just destroy it and wipe out the rest of your Life Points. But if you do nothing, you'll lose anyway. Face it—you're trapped!" you call out confidently, subtly placing your Magic Jammer face-down and ending your turn.

Yugi simply continues to smirk, his confidence unshaken. "It may seem that way to you, Makoto," he replies calmly, "but I can assure you, this is still very much anyone's game." As his turn begins, his eyes gleam with quiet determination.

.

----------->

.

Yugi smirks as he glances at his draw, a confident glint in his eyes. "Let's see if your words ring true, Makoto! I set one monster face-down and end my turn!" he declares, as one of his monster card zones flickers to life.

What is he planning? Something to negate the effect of your Lich Queen? Maybe he's aiming to destroy her before you even get the chance to activate her.

Whatever his move is, you're more than ready to counter it.

.

-------------->

.

You draw your card and see it's Breaker the Magical Warrior. Good—if Yugi tries to counter your next move, Breaker's ability to destroy one of his remaining backrow cards could turn the tide in your favor. But before you make your move, you pause for a moment, weighing your options carefully...

.

-------------->

.

First, let's see how he responds to your Lich Queen. You narrow your eyes, the tension thick in the air. With a commanding voice, you declare, "Let's see why you're so confident, Yugi! Go, Lich Queen—Withering Vengeance!" pointing sharply at his set monster, your voice echoing through the duel arena.

Yugi's eyes sparkle with determination as he responds calmly, "I'm more than happy to show you, Makoto! I activate my Living Arrow!" His hand gestures precisely as a shimmering arrow materializes in the air. "This allows me to redirect your Lich Queen's effect to your own Gluttonia!"

Okay not perfect, but once you try and negate this and Yugi undoubtedly negates it with another of his face-downs then you can summon Breaker and wipe out his remaining face-down!

.

---------->

.

"Not so fast, Yugi!" you shout, a grin stretching across your face. "I activate my trap card! Magic Jammer! By discarding my faithful Ritual Raven, I can negate the activation of your Living Arrow!" You announce confidently, expecting him to counter with something of his own at any moment.

But your eyes widen in shock as Yugi suddenly freezes. His Living Arrow shatters mid-air as Ruby's necrotic magic sweeps forth, obliterating Yugi's set card—Blackland Fire Dragon—and instantly wiping out the rest of his Life Points.

You stand there, stunned, disbelief washing over you as you watch the scene unfold. Even as Yugi collapses to his knees, a surge of elation courses through you, impossible to suppress. You throw back your head and burst into maniacal laughter.

This! This is what you fucking lived for! You're one step closer to proving once and for all that you are the fucking king!

Your gaze shifts to Pegasus, a practically manic look in your eyes as your grin widens even further. You already know—right here, right now—you're going to bring him down. And you can't wait to see the look on his face as you rip out his damned Eye and take it for your own.

Duel Won!

(500 DP from defeating Yugi)

(1000 DP from "King of Games no more!")

(500 DP from"…I'm kinda him")

Yugi's Traits revealed:

Millenium Puzzle: If on the verge of losing pick your draws until the game is at least neuteral. This skill can only be activated twice.

Mulligan X3: Thrice you can mulligan your starting hand.

Friendship: If supported by your friends while on the backfoot once per duel you can pick your draw during your DP.

-x-X-x-

After coming down from your brief (and totally deserved) bout of hysterical laughter, Croquet informs you that there will be another fucking recess while Pegasus prepares himself for your match.

...Whatever. You should probably go talk to Yugi anyway.

With that decision made, you turn and start making your way back up to the balcony, where you know he's likely gone after your duel. As you arrive, you see him surrounded by his friends, comforting him after his loss.

But as you approach, a part of you can't help but feel a flicker of satisfaction at the slight flinch he gives when he sees you.

You'll just chalk that one up to the Ring—and totally not your sadistic tendencies.

As you walk up to him, Yugi suddenly straightens his back, trying to put on a brave face.

"...It was a good duel, Makoto. I'm guessing you're here for this?" he says, a faint tremor in his voice. He lifts his Millennium Puzzle, on the verge of removing it.

A part of you still hesitates, tempted to not stop him—only Samara would know you didn't originally intend to take it, and you don't think she'd complain if you changed your mind now.

No. You're not that person anymore.

You click your tongue before he can fully remove it.

"Keep it. This entire tournament is a farce. When I come for your Puzzle, it'll be on MY terms—no one else's. Got it?" you growl, sounding offended at the mere idea that you'd take it here.

Before you can say more, suddenly an arm wraps around your neck as Joey throws his arm around your shoulder.

"Come on, man! I know you've got that whole bad-boy shtick goin' on, but isn't this a bit much? Just tell 'em you're not taking it 'cause you're pals!" Joey sighs and gives your shoulder a squeeze.

You roll your eyes at his words, crossing your arms.

"Please! I'm not a total sap like you dorks," you scoff.

Suddenly, Mai steps into your line of sight, leaning against the railing.

"And here I thought I was the one with issues expressing her emotions," she says, eyes rolling. "Handsome, just tell the truth about your little performance."

"Performance?" Tea chimes in, confusion clear in her voice.

A hand suddenly pats your shoulder—one not occupied by Joey. "Tough guy here wanted Yugi to go all out in their duel, so he put on this whole act to make sure he took it seriously." Tristan explains,

You click your tongue.

"Do you all think you're mind readers or something? I meant what I said—I want the Puzzle, and someday I WILL come to claim it. But right now, it'd just leave a bad taste in my mouth. If Yugi had entered that duel with anything less than his best, I'd have taken it right then and there though," you say with a huff, turning away and crossing your arms.

The others just roll their eyes, but none of them argue. Instead, Yugi suddenly steps forward.

"...Thank you, Makoto. I really do appreciate this. I just don't know what I'm going to do for my Grandpa now," he says, looking down at his feet, visibly sullen.

God, he's doing this on purpose…

You slap his shoulder lightly.

"Don't be an idiot. If I'm willing to pay for Joey's sister's operation, do you really think I'd just leave your Grandpa to rot after I beat Pegasus?" you say casually.

Yugi's eyes light up at that.

"You will?! I—I can't tell you how much that means to me!" he exclaims, suddenly surging forward to hug you.

"H-Hey now! Calm down! I'm doing it because it'd make me feel bad otherwise—no need for waterworks!" you growl, trying to push him off.

"...Men," Mai sighs from her place on the railing.

"Men," Tea nods, standing beside her.

"Men!" Ruby cheers suddenly, appearing on Tea's back as she jumps in surprise.

-x-X-x-

After a few more minutes of conversation, you bid farewell to the others, deciding to do some last-minute deck edits and preparations for the upcoming duel.

"Go kick his keister, Makoto! I know you can do it!" Joey calls out as you start to walk away, quickly followed by the others.

"Yeah! Don't embarrass yourself now by losing at the final hurdle!" Tristan adds with a grin.

"Good luck!" Bakura says with a firm nod, his tone serious but supportive.

"We believe in you!" Tea cheers, her face suddenly flushing red.

"Believe in the Heart of the Card, Makoto, and I'm sure you'll win!" Yugi declares confidently, his eyes shining with encouragement.

You glance over at Mai, raising an eyebrow and sporting a smug grin, waiting to see how she'll respond.

After locking eyes with you for a few seconds, she leans forward and gives you a quick, chaste peck on the lips before leaning back and rolling her eyes.

"Whooo, go do it, handsome. I believe in you…," she says sarcastically, a teasing smirk on her face as you chuckle.

With one last wave behind your back, you turn and head toward the waiting area. Leaning against the nearby wall, you pull out your deck and begin scrutinizing it carefully.

Even with your confidence at its peak, you know better than to underestimate Pegasus. Doing so would only lead to disaster—any carelessness could get you killed in this duel. It's best to make sure your deck is fully tuned and ready to take him on, no matter what tricks he might have up his sleeve.

-x-X-x-

As you finish modifying your deck, you take one last calming breath, centering yourself for what's to come.

Just in time, it seems—the entrance begins to open, announcing that it's time. You step out onto the Duel Arena, and from the balcony above, you hear the others cheer you on. Croquet's voice echoes as he calls out, "Please, take your place in the Duel Arena."

You make your way to your designated spot as Croquet continues, "—Now, for your dueling pleasure, Castle Pegasus is proud to present the creator of Duel Monsters, the undisputed ruler of Duelist Kingdom—Maximilian Pegasus!"

Pegasus appears onto the field, flanked by two of his men. One of them holds a cushion with his deck resting on it, and he promptly presents it to Pegasus. With a confident smirk, Pegasus takes his deck and carefully lays it on the field.

Damn, you'd have to keep that in mind—maybe when you get some cheerleaders, you could make a spectacle of it too.

"So, Yuzuki-boy," Pegasus declares with a sly grin, "you turned out to have even more potential than I originally thought. Truly splendid!" He claps, still smirking.

Croquet then motions for you to present your prize cards, which you do without hesitation. Afterward, Croquet asks what your wish for beating Pegasus would be—reminding you that it could be anything, and if it's within Pegasus's immense power, he would grant it.

"Now, that's quite the prize," Pegasus says smugly, stroking his ego. "Do I know how to throw a tournament or what?"

The question lingers in your mind—what should you ask for? After defeating Yugi, your initial plan was to go after his Eye, but now that you've calmed down, maybe there's a better option.

-x-X-x-

There really wasn't any other choice. There was only one thing you truly wanted from him.

"I want your Millennium Eye, Pegasus!" you declare loudly, your voice steady and unwavering.

You hope Pegasus has some secret safeguard in place—something to hide the true extent of the magical powers involved in this tournament from the watching audience at home.

From the balcony above, you hear the others shout in confusion, their voices rising in surprise. Pegasus himself just sighs, a mixture of irritation and amusement crossing his face.

"…What a shame," Pegasus says with a hint of disappointment in his tone. "I had hoped your thoughts at the end of your duel with Yugi-boy were merely a classic case of a young man's emotions getting the best of him, but it appears you've decided against taking me up on my offer." His eye hardens as he speaks, the smirk never leaving his face.

"Just don't get angry after I win and claim your own Millennium Item for myself," he hisses, a dangerous edge to his voice. You catch the murmurs of the others above, confused about what he meant.

Cunt. But he's not wrong—you could really be mad at him outing you since you turned down his offer.

You allow the Ring to materialize on your chest, and you hear the gasp of the others. Ignoring their reactions, your attention stays fully on Pegasus.

"Then there's nothing left to say, is there, Pegasus? Let's get on with it," you say, your voice ice cold and resolute. Pegasus simply smiles in agreement.

Croquet clears his throat and then announces, "The final duel is about to begin! The winner shall be crowned the King of Games! Duelists, prepare to duel!"

With that, your final duel of Duelist Kingdom begins.

"I think I'll start us off, Pegasus!" you declare, quickly tearing the top card from your deck and revealing Polymerization.

As you inspect your hand, a grin begins to form unbidden on your face.

Heh, looks like you and your deck are on the same page.

Suddenly, your focus is snapped back to the present as Pegasus speaks up, his voice dripping with exaggerated flair.

"Oh my! What a scary hand you have—what could I possibly hope to do against it?!" Pegasus yells out dramatically, clearly reading your mind to try and psyche you out.

…Cunt.

"Oh, come now, Yuzuki-boy! Is there really a need for that kind of language? I thought we were friends," Pegasus taunts with that same smug smirk, his eyes glinting mischievously.

It doesn't matter. Let him read your mind all he wants. It just means he'll find out how fucked he is a little sooner.

Pegasus's smirk widens even further at your thoughts, but you hold your composure. Now, it's time to make your move.

.

--------->

.

"Let's see if your damn Eye helps against this, Pegasus!" you shout, finally making your move.

"First off, I summon my Tri-Horn Dragon in attack mode!" you declare firmly. Your trusted dragon materializes on your side of the field, letting out a thunderous roar as it glares at Pegasus. He smirks in response, unbothered.

"Next, I set two cards face-down and end my turn!" you finish, carefully placing Rites of the Underworld and one of your Polymerizations into the spell/trap zone. You're more than prepared to counter anything Pegasus throws your way.

Pegasus suddenly chuckles, causing you to narrow your eyes sharply.

"What's so funny, Pegasus?" you demand, your voice tense.

His chuckling subsides, and he tilts his head slightly, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"Oh, nothing, Yuzuki-boy. It's just… ever so amusing seeing how naive you are," Pegasus comments with faux-casualness.

You narrow your eyes even further. "You're talking a lot of shit for someone who's already lost in this tournament," you growl.

For some reason, Pegasus's visible eye brightens at your words.

"Oh, yes! My embarrassing defeat against Kaiba-boy—I must admit, it was truly shameful," Pegasus says, shaking his head with a mock expression of regret. "Controlling the game the entire duel, only to lose at the final hurdle thanks to my own arrogance? How pitiful."

He pauses, a sly smile curling on his lips.

"Although, even with my arrogance, I think only Kaiba-boy could have pulled off a move like that. He truly is an impressive duelist," Pegasus praises, spreading his arms wide in a dramatic gesture.

You click your tongue at his words. "Fat fucking chance. If not for me, he wouldn't have even had the opportunity in the first place! If I'd been in his position, it never would've gotten to that point," you hiss, offended by the implication that Kaiba surpasses you.

Pegasus's smirk widens at your retort. "Isn't that so? Of course, you defeated him. I won't deny that—I witnessed the recording with my very own eyes. But you saw how damaged he was during his duel with Yugi-boy, didn't you? Can you truly say you defeated him at his best?"

You growl, fists clenched tightly on your Duel Pod.

"Damn right I can, you pompous fuck!" you snap through gritted teeth. "It doesn't matter what state Kaiba was in—he'd never let it affect his dueling!" Pegasus only shrugs exaggeratedly, unfazed.

"If that's what you have to tell yourself. But why don't we get back to the duel?" Pegasus says with a smirk, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

.

---------->

.

Pegasus's eye brightens as he beholds his draw.

"Oh goody! Maybe this card can save me from your oh-so-scary dragon!" Pegasus shouts dramatically, slapping down the card he drew.

"Come on out! Toon World!" he announces with flair, as a green book materializes on his side of the field, floating lazily in the air.

Damn it. You had hoped to beat him before he managed to activate Toon World. Now the duel just got a lot more complicated.

"Next up, I'll summon my Goblin Attack Force!" he declares. Suddenly, a dozen grotesque goblins appear on his side of the field, their ugly faces sneering menacingly. Then, with a sinister grin, Toon World opens up once more, and one by one, each goblin is sucked into its pages.

Pegasus cackles. "How about I give them a little makeover, hmm? I must admit, they're not exactly pretty to look at, but with Toon World's help, I can make them so much more appealing!"

The pages of Toon World flip again, and Pegasus's goblins are spat back out—toonified, exaggerated, and even more grotesque than before.

.

----------->

.

"There! So much better, wouldn't you say?" Pegasus smirks. "Let's see if they can handle your beast! Go, my Toon Goblin Attack Force—attack!"

The goblins charge forward, their cartoonish forms bouncing and lunging straight at your Tri-Horn Dragon.

You grit your teeth as the goblins approach, their attack points only 2300—well below your dragon's 2800. Even with Toon World preventing their destruction or damage to Pegasus, this move seems pointless on the surface. Was Pegasus going to boost their attack? Or was this a psy-op, meant to throw you off?

Whatever his plan, you need to think fast.

.

--------->

.

No, you need to stay calm. Pegasus can read your mind—he knows that your only option is to Ritual Summon Hades. He's probably got some plan ready for it, and giving him the chance to spring his trap would be a mistake. Even if his goblins can destroy your Tri-Horn Dragon, it's better than falling into whatever scheme he's cooking up.

You hold your breath as Pegasus's goblins finally reach your Tri-Horn Dragon. They bash him with their clubs, and he just looks annoyed, a flicker of irritation crossing his maw. Then, with a flick of his claw, he sends the goblins flying back—only for Toon World to open once more, absorbing each of them before they land.

Pegasus lets out a sigh, feigning disappointment. "Haaaaa… What a boring move. If I'd been facing Kaiba-boy, I'm sure he'd have some clever trick to destroy my goblins—perhaps even my Toon World! I suppose I expected too much of you…" His voice trails off, a smirk playing on his lips.

You recognize what he's doing—trying to make you mad, to force a mistake. You know the best course is to ignore his taunts, keep your focus solely on the duel.

But even knowing that you feel your hands tighten into fists as your jaw clenches.

Pegasus's smile widens. "Oooh? Did I hit a nerve? Sorry about that. I'm sure you've got some clever plan lying in wait for me, so I'll just set two cards and let you get on with it," he taunts, clearly enjoying himself.

.

------------>

.

You needed him out your head now.

Lets see how he likes the mind games being turned around on him.

You glare at your Pegasus, seething with resentment as you unleash a barrage of lewd mental images. Your first scenario depicts his wife sprawled across a plush bed, her body glistening with sweat as you mount her.

You imagine gripping her hips tightly, thrusting deep into her slick folds while she cries out in ecstasy beneath you. Her nails dig into your shoulders as she clings to you desperately, urging you on with wanton moans...

But even this graphic fantasy fails to elicit any reaction beyond that infuriating smirk from Pegasus. Undeterred, you push further...

Next, you picture Cecelia tied up in black restraints – wrists and ankles secured to each corner of the bed frame. You stand over her nude form, stroking your hardening cock as she watches with pleading eyes, begging for your attention.

You thrust into Cecelia's bound form, each stroke sending waves of pleasure coursing through your body. Her eyes are locked onto yours, filled with a desperate longing as she silently pleads to be allowed to cum.

As you pick up the pace, Cecelia's moans grow louder and more urgent – her hips bucking against you in a futile attempt to meet your increasingly powerful thrusts. The restraints only serve to heighten her arousal, making every touch and movement feel that much more intense.

All the while Pegasus' smug smirk remains unchanged, no matter how depraved the fantasy you come up with.

"Ah, my sweet Cecelia… isn't she quite the beauty?" Pegasus says with a sly smirk, his eyes glinting with mischief. "I can't blame a young man for his fantasies. But I will say, she's always was more a fan of restraining than being restrained. Plus, she found plain black leather oh-so boring." His tone is playful yet edged with amusement, a clear jab meant to provoke.

You only grit your teeth, the frustration simmering as your plan fails. Your hand moves instinctively, reaching for the top card of your deck—Giant Germ.

Suddenly, Pegasus pipes up again, his voice dripping with mock concern. "Oh, careful now, Yuzuki-boy! You wouldn't want my sweet Cecelia to catch something now, would you?" His words are unmistakably pointed, a deliberate sign that he's aware of what card you've just drawn, rubbing it in that your little scheme had failed completely.

.

------------>

.

A fiery rage begins to simmer inside you, your blood boiling at Pegasus's smug grin. His words drip with condescension, and the arrogance in his tone only fuels your fury. You can feel it building, threatening to explode, but before you can act on it, a shout from the balcony cuts through the tension.

"Don't let him get in your head, Makoto! You can do this!" Yugi's voice rings out, clear and steady. Followed by the rallying cries of your friends—each one lending their support, their encouragement echoing across the duel.

Their words slow the boiling rage, grounding you just enough to steady your nerves. You take a deep breath, trying to focus, to block out the buzzing in your ears caused by Pegasus's taunts. But then, once again, Pegasus's voice slices through your concentration.

"Ah, it warms my cold heart to see you making friends, Makoto!" he sneers, feigning sincerity. "When was the last time you had any of those? High school, maybe?" He taps his chin thoughtfully. "Hmm, I'm not sure if it even counts—considering Kouji and the others stopped speaking to you once they found out about you sleeping with his girlfriend behind his back. And of course, you abandoned her not long after—half the fun was the forbidden nature of it all." His words are like daggers, airing your dirty laundry as if it's nothing more than trivial gossip.

The words hit hard, a fresh wave of fury igniting within you. Your vision blurs with anger, your fists clenched tightly. Despite your friends' support, Pegasus's words are a brutal assault on your pride and your past. The buzzing in your ears drowns out everything else.

"...You're fuckin' dead," you snarl, voice low but filled with lethal intent. Without hesitation, you set your Giant Germ face-down and end your turn, the anger simmering beneath the surface threatening to boil over any second.

.

.

TRAIT ACTIVATED!

Pegasus just throws his head back and laughs, a sound that's both mocking and triumphant. "Oh my! How scary!" he quips with a mock shudder, but the gleam in his eye betrays his amusement. He draws his card, and his grin widens as he gauges his next move.

"Well, if you're going to be making threats like that, I might need a guard dog to protect myself," he says smugly, "You wouldn't mind if I borrow yours now, would you?" His tone is playful, but the underlying menace is unmistakable. You tense up, knowing exactly what he's about to do.

"I activate my Pillager! Allowing me to take one card from your hand and add it to mine," Pegasus declares, a wicked glint in his eye. "And I think I'll choose your Cerberus!" You can only clench your teeth and seethe as you watch on. You place your Cerberus face-down, feeling a surge of helplessness as it's transported over to Pegasus's Duel Pod.

Pegasus immediately raises the card to his eye, inspecting it with exaggerated admiration. "Ah, what a ferocious little dog we have here," he purrs, "and such an oh-so-scary expression! Don't worry, though— I think I can fix that." His grin widens as he slams Cerberus down onto his field.

"Come on out! Cerberus, Toon of Hades!" Pegasus announces, and suddenly, Toon World flickers into open. From within, a grotesque parody of Cerberus hops out—twisted, deformed, and unmistakably corrupted to fit Pegasus's sick desires. It's more a marketable plushie than a fearsome guardian—a mockery of your own card.

.

-------------->

.

Your stomach churns at the sight, and Pegasus's smirk only deepens. "Oh, don't be so cruel," he teases, voice dripping with mock affection. "He's still a good boy! Let's show him some love, Cerberus—attack his Giant Germ, Rowdy Roughhousing!"

The grotesque Toon Cerberus lunges at your set Germ with reckless abandon, its malformed jaws snapping as it prepares to strike.

.

------------>

.

A flicker of doubt crosses your mind—should you summon Blight-Dragon? Its firepower could potentially end the game in one fell swoop, but the presence of Toon World complicates things. With it active, Blight-Dragon wouldn't get through, and there's a real risk Pegasus could steal it for himself. Maybe you should summon Hades instead? Or perhaps-

Before you can finish your thought, you flinch as Cerberus finally lands on your Germ. A cartoonish cloud of dust and debris erupts, reminiscent of an old-school slapstick fight, swirling around the two monsters. Cerberus grabs a piece of your Germ in his mouth, chews it briefly, then swallows with a grotesque slurp. The twisted creature puffs out its tongue, panting heavily, before it's sucked back into Toon World with a flicker.

"Ah, really, my boy," Pegasus taunts, his smirk twisting his face into a cruel grin. "You MUST think faster than that. I know this is a big moment for you, but please, try to keep your head." The condescension in his voice is like a slap to the face, and you grit your teeth even harder, trying to contain the rage building inside you.

But it's too late. Because of Cerberus's effect, you didn't even get the chance to summon another copy of Germ. And even if you could, it would only end up with you taking massive damage as Cerberus attacked again. The thought sends a chill down your spine, and you realize that you're running out of options fast.

You need to do something, and you need to do it now. The tide of the duel is turning against you, and if you don't act quickly, Pegasus will be the one celebrating victory.

.

.

You clenched your eyes shut, desperately trying to summon any shred of clarity amidst the chaos. Your mind raced, searching for a way to turn the tide—something, anything, to shift the momentum back in your favor.

Suddenly, a voice cut through the noise—sharp, confident, and unwavering. "Hey, handsome!"

Your eyes snap open, and your gaze is drawn to the balcony. There, standing tall with her back straight and a fierce glare directed down at you, is Mai.

"Stop looking so pathetic down there," she commands, frustration clear in her tone. "I don't care what Pegasus is doing. We both know you're more than capable of winning this duel. So stop hunching over and feeling so damn sorry for yourself while he leads you around by the nose. Hold your head up high and show everyone why YOU'RE the best!"

Her words hit you like a lightning strike—harsh but true. For a moment, you blink in surprise, the weight of her encouragement sinking in. She's right. You've been letting Pegasus psych you out, getting into your head, when all along you've had the strength to turn this around.

God, is this what you do to others when you duel them? No wonder you always win.

Pegasus opens his mouth to say something, perhaps to gloat or mock, but you tune him out entirely. Instead, you place your hand on top of your deck, taking a steadying breath. Slowly, you draw a card—Pre-Preparation of Rites.

The duel's not over yet. Not by a long shot.

.

.

Pegasus is saying something, but you block him out entirely. Your focus is on the card in your hand. With a determined slap, you place Pre-Preparation of Rites onto the field.

"First off, I activate my Pre-Preparation of Rites!" you bark, voice steady and commanding. "Allowing me to add one Ritual Spell from my deck to my hand, and I think I'll choose Advanced Ritual Art!"

You swiftly add the card to your hand, eyes burning with resolve.

But before you can even think further, a dark, seductive voice suddenly whispers in your ear, soft yet laced with temptation.

'Hmm, this is better,' the Spirit of the Ring purrs, her voice sweet and honeyed. 'You were looking so pathetic before I couldn't even bring myself to offer my assistance. But now that your head is finally back in the game, how about I take care of that little mind-reading issue you've been having?~'

A shiver runs down your spine as her words hang in the air, thick with promise and hidden intent.

You hesitate, cautious. 'And what would you want in return?' you ask, voice low and wary. You're not naive enough to believe there are no strings attached.

The Spirit of the Ring let out a tired sigh, her tone shifting to something more playful. 'Nothing that you weren't already planning to do. I just wish for the Millennium Items—getting our hands on the Eye is all I desire. And perhaps, for you to keep in mind—I am not your enemy. Our goals are, in many ways, aligned, you know~'

You swear you feel the flick of a tongue licking your ear at her words, a wicked promise that sends a shiver through your spine. The temptation is undeniable, but so is the risk.

You take a deep breath, weighing your options. The game is far from over, and she's offering a tool that could turn the tide. But at what cost?

'.....Fine,' you communicate silently to the Spirit of the Ring, accepting her offer. 'We'll take the Eye, and I promise afterward we'll talk. I'll try to keep an open mind rather than constantly assuming the worst. Is that okay?'

A dark satisfaction radiates from the Ring at your agreement, the promise of a partnership sealed in shadows.

'Oooh, I think this is the start to a VERY satisfying partnership for the both of us~' she purrs, her voice dripping with anticipation. Suddenly, a dark energy seeps over you from the Ring, enveloping your mind in a subtle but powerful influence. You watch as Pegasus's eye narrows, sensing that he's no longer intruding on your thoughts.

After a few tense seconds, Pegasus shakes his head, clicking his tongue with faux-disappointment. "Oh my, making deals with morally dubious spirits trapped in ancient artifacts now, Yuzuki-boy? Didn't your parents ever teach you better?" His eye suddenly widens, and he brings his hand to his mouth as if he's said too much. "Oh! I'm so sorry! You don't have any, do you?"

Even as the others call out Pegasus from the balcony, rather than taking offense or anger at his taunt, you just smirk—your confidence surging. A deep satisfaction swells in your chest.

"Heh, thanks for the confirmation—you can't read my mind anymore, Pegasus," you say with a sneer. "I've got a whole fucking list of issues, but one of the few NOT on that list is mommy or daddy issues."

Pegasus scowls, clearly annoyed. "...Well, maybe some mommy issues, but just the fun kind," you joke, a smug grin spreading across your face as you set your entire hand before ending your turn.

The game is far from over, but with the Ring's backup, your odds of victory have just skyrocketed. You're more than ready to grind Pegasus into the dirt and pluck that Eye of his out—Slowly~

.

.

Pegasus quickly wipes the scowl from his face, adopting a calm, almost nonchalant expression as he begins his turn, as if your resistance to his mind games didn't matter at all.

"Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, I suppose," he says smoothly, a faint edge of annoyance flickering beneath his composed tone. "But I already have more than enough information to defeat you and claim your Millennium Item, Yuzuki-boy!"

His eyes gleam with confidence as he raises his hand. "Go, my precious Toon Doggy! Attack his Magician of Faith, Rowdy Roughhousing!"

Suddenly, the battlefield shifts as Toon World erupts into life. Out from the cartoonish, twisted landscape emerges a grotesque, animated Cerberus—three heads snarling and snapping as it bounds toward your set card.

.

------------>

.

"Not so fast, Pegasus! Let's see if Cerberus remains so loyal after this!" you declare, quickly weaving your combo. "I activate my Rites of the Underworld and Polymerization to summon—!"

But before you can finish, Pegasus's voice cuts through with a gleeful tone. "Oh-ho! Didn't I tell you, Yuzuki-boy? I already have more than enough information to win this duel!"

His eyes sparkle with triumph as he flips one of his set cards. "I activate my Magical Neutralizing Force Field! Negating and destroying both of your spells!"

A flash of energy ripples through the field, and your spells vanish in an instant—your heart practically stops as you watch them get obliterated.

.

.

Pegasus's grin widens, reveling in his move. "Now, go, my Toon Cerberus! Finish your attack!"

The monstrous Toon Cerberus snarls and leaps forward, landing directly on your Magician of Faith. She's flipped over, her effect activating even as the cartoonish dust cloud erupts in a cloud of animated dust, sealing her fate.

.

----------->

.

You grit your teeth, there's only one real choice for what to grab here-!

"My Magician of Faith's effect activates! I'm allowed to add one spell card from my Graveyard to my hand!" you declare, clutching your Rites of the Underworld as Toon Cerberus drags your Magician of Faith into Pegasus's Graveyard.

Pegasus's grin widens, a mocking sparkle in his eyes. "Oh my! How unexpected! I truly didn't see that one coming," he taunts, trying to provoke a reaction. You almost growl back at him, frustration simmering beneath your resolve.

Suddenly, a seductive voice whispers in your ear—soft, alluring, and confident. 'Hush, my dear. Our victory is practically assured. All the tools for it are nearly at hand. All you need is one more piece and to trust me~'

Your eyes widen as her words sink in. Victory? How? Even if you summon Dragoon or Swordsman, they have no way to get past Toon World—your options seem limited.

The Spirit of the Ring practically purrs through your thoughts.

'Just trust me. Prepare yourself, and I will tell you what to do next~'

A flicker of doubt wars with your determination. You promised to trust her, after all. Maybe it's time to believe in her guidance—and wipe that smug grin off Pegasus's face.

Your eyes narrow as you glare at Pegasus's beaming expression.

You REALLY want to wipe that damn smirk off his face.

.

.

Decision cemented, you lean into the Spirit even more, feeling her dark energy mingling with your resolve.

'What do I need to do first?' you ask her, your gaze locked on Pegasus as the tension thickens. You feel a hand rub affectionately against your cheek, the Spirit purring in satisfaction.

'In order for our plan to succeed, you must draw your third copy of Polymerization here,' she explains, her tone serious. 'Unfortunately, I cannot assist you at this stage—I must save my power for the next phase.'

You grimace inwardly. Oh good, just had to draw the last copy from your almost-full deck. Despite the intensity of the duel so far, it hadn't been many turns since it all began.

Suddenly, the Ring pipes up with a teasing tone, a note of mockery. 'Oh? Surely it is no challenge for a man of your caliber, my dear. Or are you not up to the task…?' She trails off, her voice dripping with derision and disappointment.

You tense, hand shooting instinctively to your deck. She was right—this was no mere game. You'd seen enough in this tournament to know it was something far deeper, older, more dangerous. As long as you kept faith in yourself, your cards would respond.

Heh. And if there was one thing you knew how to do, it was trust in yourself.

Thinking of Yugi watching from the balcony, and Kaiba undoubtedly watching from back home, you rip the top card from your deck, bringing it close to your eye. A smirk forms as you see the familiar card—Polymerization.

Was there ever any doubt?

.

------------>

.

The Ring grins alongside you, her eyes gleaming with approval as she sees the Polymerization. 'Heh, very good, my dear. I knew you would not disappoint,' she purrs, excitement lacing her voice.

'Now, as for what we need to do next,' she continues, a teasing note in her tone. 'Just run wild—you'll know what to do when you get there~.' You feel the Ring tingle across your chest, a subtle but electric sensation that fuels your resolve.

Without hesitation, you declare, "First and foremost! I activate my Rites of the Underworld, tributing my Tri-Horn for my Hades! Lord of the Underworld!"

Your Tri-Horn is absorbed into the summoning circle, and from the shadows beneath, Hades crawls forth, a dark aura surrounding him. His gaze is cold and commanding.

"Next," you shout, "I use Rites of the Underworld's secondary effect! Allowing me to send one DARK monster from my deck to my Graveyard, but I take damage equal to its level!"

With a ghostly apparition of Red-Eyes appearing behind Hades before vanishing into the shadows, you feel a surge of adrenaline. Even as the 350 points of damage sting through your defenses, your heart begins to race. You can sense SOMETHING coming—an ominous, powerful presence just beyond the veil.

.

-------------->

.

"Now! I activate my Advanced Ritual Art!" you declare, voice unwavering. "This allows me to Ritual Summon a monster by sending a monster with the same level from my deck to the Graveyard. And I send… my Anotherverse Gluttonia to summon forth my Black Luster Soldier!"

With a flash of dark energy, your soldier kneels before you, shadowy and imposing, materializing right beside Hades. Its armor gleams with an ominous light, ready for battle.

Pegasus's eyes narrow as he recognizes the move, a flicker of concern crossing his face. The Ring begins to vibrate intensely against your chest, a resonant hum that signals the surge of power coursing through your veins.

The atmosphere thickens with anticipation — the moment of truth is near. The duel's stakes have never been higher as your army of dark, legendary monsters stands ready.

.

---------->

.

"But I'm not done yet, Pegasus!" you shout, determination burning in your voice. "From my hand, I activate Polymerization! Fusing together my Hades and Red-Eyes Black Dragon from my Graveyard to summon my Stygian Dragoon Hades!"

A vortex of dark energy swirls violently as the fusion spell takes effect, and from the chaos, Dragoon emerges—its body coated in dark armor of shadow and fire, draconic tail waving wildly behind it.

The others call out in support, but you ignore their voices, your gaze fixed solely on your Stygian Dragoon Hades. You know exactly what must come next, and the power surging within you makes everything else fade into the background.

This is your moment—your ultimate move is within reach, and nothing will stand in your way.

.

.

'Hmm~ I think it's time, dear. Shall I set the stage?~' The Ring whispers softly, her phantom fingers gliding up and down your chest. Though you know it's only a illusion, a shiver runs down your spine as her nails seem to pierce your skin, teasing your senses.

"Do it," you command aloud, your eyes locking onto Pegasus with unwavering resolve.

Suddenly, the Ring erupts into a manic giggle, breaking into a genuine fit of laughter as a pulse radiates from your chest. In an instant, a shroud of shimmering purple fog envelops the Duel Arena, and both you and Pegasus are transported to the Shadow Realm.

The fog thickens, swirling around you like a living entity, but you choose to not let it deepen—after all, why deny the spectators a show? The shadows dance and whisper, eager to witness the climax of this duel.

Pegasus's gaze sharpens as he surveys the surreal landscape, his Millennium Eye glowing ominously to ward off any lurking shadows. "Oh? The Shadow Realm? Looks like you're taking this seriously, Yuzuki-boy," he remarks casually, though a flicker of tension flickers behind his calm.

Instead of shooing the shadows away, you welcome them, feeling their dark tendrils caress your form like eager lovers. You grin at Pegasus, basking in the surreal intimacy of the moment.

"Oh Pegasus, I'm not taking this seriously at all. Why would I have to? The minute we arrived here, my victory was already sealed," you say confidently, your voice steady amidst the swirling darkness. The shadows continue to dance around you, whispering promises of your impending triumph.

Pegasus's eye narrows further, a nervous sheen appearing on his brow. You relish in his unease, a triumphant smile curling on your lips.

"Confident, are you? But no matter how strong your monsters are, they can't bypass my Toon World," Pegasus snaps, trying to mask his nerves, but his voice betrays the doubt flickering within.

You remain unfazed, your grin widening as you prepare to unleash your final move—certain that victory is already yours.

"How about I show you then? I must admit I'm quite looking forward to the face you'll make~," you sing sweetly, your voice dripping with sadistic anticipation. Pegasus tenses even further, his expression a mix of suspicion and growing unease.

"Let's begin, then, shall we? First off, I activate my Polymerization!" you declare boldly. "Allowing me to fuse my Black Luster Soldier on the field and Hades, Lord of the Underworld, in my Graveyard, to summon my Stygian Luster Swordsman!"

A vortex erupts as your Black Luster Soldier leaps into the swirling light, swiftly followed by a ghostly apparition of your Hades. Then, with a flash of dark energy, one of your most powerful monsters—one you previously summoned in your duel with Yugi—steps forth, towering with ominous presence.

Pegasus's eye narrows, his posture stiffening as he perceives the overwhelming presence of your monsters in the Shadow Realm, their aura almost palpable.

"...That is all very well and good, Yuzuki-boy," Pegasus snaps, voice tense with frustration. "But neither of your monsters have a way to bypass my Toon World!"

You continue to smirk, unwavering in your confidence. "You're exactly right, Pegasus. Right now, neither of my two monsters could do a thing to your Toon World." You pause dramatically, then add, "But—look behind my Swordsman."

At your command, your Stygian Luster Swordsman shifts to the side, revealing the still-active vortex of Polymerization. Pegasus's eyes widen in disbelief as he takes in the sight.

"How?! Your Polymerization should have faded after summoning your Luster Swordsman!" Pegasus demands, panic creeping into his voice. "Why is it still on the field?!"

You relish his reaction, your grin widening. "I'd have thought you'd know better than anyone, Pegasus. A Shadow Game doesn't follow the rules of ordinary Duel Monsters. With a bit of my power flowing into it, I can hold my Polymerization in place for just a little longer."

Pegasus's face pales as your words sink in, his confidence wavering. You feel a surge of excitement, knowing his nerves are fraying.

"Now! Let's see what happens when I fuse the might of my Stygian Dragoon Hades and Stygian Luster Swordsman together!" you shout gleefully. Both monsters are absorbed into the swirling vortex of energy, their forms vanishing into the dark whirlpool.

The Shadow Realm trembles in anticipation, and your smile turns triumphant as the fusion begins, eager to witness the next stage of your master plan.

As you watch, the fusion begins to falter, you sense the sheer magnitude of what you're attempting—beyond the limits of a simple Polymerization. The dark energy crackles and sputters, the connection wavering dangerously.

'RING!' you bark mentally, your voice sharp with urgency. 'Use all your power! Open the connection between my Polymerization and me even wider!'

There's a pause, a moment of hesitation from the Ring. '...You are aware this could end badly, correct? You're merely a human—trying to throw yourself into that chaotic swill will more than likely just result in your soul being eviscerated and lost forever,' she warns, her voice thick with warning as she begins to gather her own power.

But your grin only widens, manic and unyielding. "There's nothing merely human about me!" you shout, voice echoing through the Shadow Realm. "I'm the man who stands above all others, who is gonna be the fucking goddamn king of everything! If I get shredded apart merely by trying to grapple with the souls of a thousand nobodies, then I fucking deserve whatever the hell happens to me!"

Your eyes blaze with wild intensity as you leap over your Duel Pod, diving directly into the swirling chaos where your Dragoon and Swordsman struggle to fuse. The vortex roars with dark energy, pulling at you, threatening to swallow you whole.

In that moment, just before impact, you hear one last whisper from the Ring, a twisted, satisfied tone lingering in her voice.

'...Heh, this truly may be a satisfying partnership after all~.'

And with that, you throw yourself into the chaos, embracing the abyss in a reckless, defiant act, determined to forge your destiny from the very chaos itself.

PAIN!

PAIN!

PAIN!

That is the only sensation you register as you are consumed by the vortex—an unending, searing agony that tears through your body and mind.

Suddenly, you find yourself standing on a vast, desolate desert, coarse sand biting into your toes. Your eyes widen in terror as you gaze upward, and what you see makes your blood run cold.

Three colossal beasts dominate the horizon, their presence monstrous and divine.

The first, a golden, almost mechanical dragon with a gleaming blue crystal embedded in its forehead, unleashes a torrent of flames almost as hot as the sun itself, incinerating your comrades by the hundreds in a fiery inferno that scorches the very air.

Next, a giant serpentine dragon of burning red, with two snarling mouths, rains down purple fireballs that melt the desert into glass, turning everything into a shimmering wasteland of destruction.

Finally, a hulking blue behemoth, eyes blazing with pure rage and hatred, crushes your army beneath its colossal form, tearing through weaponry and flesh alike with primal fury.

These divine beasts—gods of chaos and destruction—consume everything in their path: your men, your hope, your very soul. All you can do is watch in horror as the apocalyptic tableau unfolds before you.

But amid the terror, beneath the overwhelming wave of dread, a single emotion rises unbidden—a dark, flickering ember within your spirit.

Desire...

It burns brighter than the flames, deeper than the despair. A fierce, unquenchable craving to dominate, to command, to seize the power that these gods wield. To carve your own fate from the chaos.

In that moment, as the gods unleash their wrath and your body trembles beneath the onslaught, you realize—your true hunger is not for safety, nor for salvation, but for the ultimate power to shape the universe in your image.

And nothing, not even the divine horrors before you, will stand in your way.

The visions suddenly shifts and begins to bombard you—one after another, a relentless storm of suffering and death. An ordinary housewife sobbing in terror as guards seize her child, then crushing his skull against the wall before slitting her throat; a petty thief, burning, his only crime a stolen slice of bread to feed his starving sister; a guard, helpless as prisoners he tried to save are slaughtered before him, a knife swiftly plunged into his heart.

All the while thirteen innocuous stone tablets sit silently, watching, unblinking witnesses to the endless cycle of pain. The agony is overwhelming, a tidal wave threatening to drown you in despair. It's so tempting to surrender—to drown in the suffering, to let it consume you and silence the chaos forever.

But deep inside, a voice roars amid the storm of agony:

How pathetic would that be?

Diving into that vortex of chaos, confident you could tame it, only to be swallowed whole—crowned the king of fools.

You see the faces of those pathetic nobodies, reaching for greatness but destined to fall short. Their stories end in despair, lost to the darkness.

But your story is different. You are Makoto Yuzuki—the King of Games.

A spark ignites within you, fierce and unwavering. The pain, the suffering, the despair—they are nothing but shadows cast by your true will. You clutch onto your identity, your purpose, your resolve.

You are the master of your fate. The architect of your destiny.

And no matter how many visions of death and ruin threaten to drown you, you refuse to drown.

Because you know—you are destined for more.
