"A Commander Level Demonic Bison with a bloodline power comparable to a General Level? Is that even possible?" Lana asked, her astonishment clear.
"Right. It's possible, but it's extremely rare," Lin Wei confirmed. "Even though the bison's raw physical power has not yet reached the threshold of a General Level Demonic Beast, the potency of its bloodline abilities has. As long as it avoids a direct, head-on confrontation, it can fight a General Level Demonic Beast to a certain degree."
"I see," Lana said, letting out a weary sigh. "Such a rare occurrence actually happened here, and at the worst possible time. This truly is incredibly bad luck. We only need to collect the bloodline power from these demonic beasts, not the beasts themselves. Who would have thought that would lead to us being exposed?"
"Husband, can you not tame that bison?" Angela suggested, a glint of opportunistic interest in her eyes. "Since it caused us so much trouble and nearly made our mission fail, it should serve you for the rest of its life. Since its bloodline power has reached the General Level, this demonic bison must be quite impressive."
"Hmm... That is possible," Lin Wei mused, considering the idea. "Alright. We have to wait for the formation to repair itself anyway. Since we have nothing to do at the moment, I will go and study a few things about beast taming first."
His ultimate treasure contained vast inheritances from various fields of cultivation, and beast taming was one of them.
Angela's suggestion gave him a new idea. He was currently using the pyramid's deep resources to help numerous demonic beasts awaken their bloodlines, all for the purpose of harvesting that power later. Unfortunately, once the mission was complete, the demonic beasts could not simply remain here, continuing to consume valuable resources. He would face a choice: release them back into the wild, or slaughter them all to reclaim their bodies as cultivation materials.
However, as someone who saw himself as a righteous cultivator, he could not bring himself to slaughter them all after they had contributed to his cause. That would be profoundly immoral.
But if he became a beast tamer, he could potentially tame as many of the Commander Level Demonic Beasts as his limit allowed. Even if he could not tame them all, securing just a few would still boost his overall power tremendously.
Furthermore, before releasing the remaining demonic beasts, he could let the other beast tamers who survived later attempt to tame them. Those who succeeded could either pay him a fee or be recruited into his circle, depending on their circumstances.
Thinking about beast taming inevitably reminded him of Leyvi. Although he had never witnessed it personally, he was aware that Leyvi was also a beast tamer. He had placed second in the Holy Cat City's beast tamer tournament years ago.
Sigh... after all this is over, I will try to invite Brother Leyvi one more time, Lin Wei thought, a sense of determination settling in. If he follows me, he and his family could travel to better cultivation worlds and advance even further. To the Heart of the Galaxy. That is where one truly has a chance to attain Divinity! Hmm... Perhaps I should reveal some secrets to Brother Leyvi. Trying to convince him with mere talk obviously won't work. Yes. I should do that.
Lin Wei retreated from his thoughts and looked at his two wives.
"Alright, you two. Follow me. I am going to study beast taming, and you ladies will be joining me to study it together," Lin Wei said with a confident smile.
"Us too?" Angela was surprised. "But I don't have any beast taming talent."
"Haha. Don't worry about it," Lin Wei reassured her. "This method comes from my inheritance. The beast taming methods of the Cloud Continent cannot compare at all. They are far too primitive. You two have already seen my alchemy and formation techniques, correct?" he asked, a note of pride in his voice.
After his kidnapping ordeal, he had taken the time to study and become an array formation practitioner as well. Although he could not yet call himself a true formation expert, his knowledge was sufficient to prevent himself from being trapped or manipulated by hostile formations.
Lana and Angela both nodded. They had witnessed their husband perform alchemy despite not being a fire elemental cultivator, a feat they found remarkable. As for his formation skills, given enough time, he could analyze and disable complex arrays, an ability that usually required expensive, specialized spirit artifacts to achieve. It was indeed an incredible skill.
The beast taming method from his inheritance, they reasoned, must be similarly incredible and mysterious.
"Haha. That's right," Lin Wei continued, answering their unspoken thoughts. "Using a Spiritual Imprint to tame a demonic beast is an outdated and risky method. If the spirit beast suddenly becomes much stronger than the tamer, the connection can easily backfire. The beast taming method I possess uses a different principle altogether. Let's go." He turned and walked out of the control chamber.
The two ladies exchanged an intrigued glance and followed him, their curiosity about this new and superior beast taming method fully piqued.
Meanwhile, in the lowest and most spacious level of the pyramid, an entire miniature world thrived. The space was filled with lush greenery, varied landscapes of rocks and hills, and even a serene lake, all designed to replicate complete, self-sustaining ecosystems. Here, numerous demonic beasts roamed freely in an environment saturated with energy, artificially stimulating and greatly promoting their growth.
This was where Lin Wei had gathered and housed all the demonic beasts for his project.
In an area of particularly fresh, tall grass, a single demonic bison stood apart, its very presence radiating power.
It was Mr Bison. He appeared far more majestic and formidable than ever before.
His appearance had undergone a noticeable transformation. Previously, he had a body of brown fur up to his neck, with a head of distinctive golden fur. Now, that golden fur had stretched down from his head, forming intricate, unique patterns across his brown body. Even his tail had become fully golden.
But the most dramatic change was in his horns. The two massive, curved horns on the sides of his head had grown even larger and thicker, but they were no longer made of ordinary bone. The horns were now composed of solid, crystalline diamond. Every time Mr. Bison moved his head, the majestic diamond horns would catch the light, scattering brilliant reflections across his surroundings.
In addition to the horns, a patch of diamond-like material had now formed a plate on his forehead, though it was mostly hidden beneath the cascading golden fur.
"Little Stripey, Scarlet. Look at me now. Incredibly powerful! You two always doubted me, right? Will you believe in me now? Only a protagonist demonic beast could evolve to Commander Level this fast, and that is me!" Mr. Bison bragged, his voice a rumbling, self-satisfied grunt.
Ever since they had been brought to this place, a veritable heaven for demonic beasts, his power had skyrocketed at a rate that dwarfed the growth of all the other beasts gathered there. It had been just a day since he had successfully completed his evolution to the Commander Level.
With this newfound, overwhelming strength, Mr Bison's conviction that he was a protagonist of destiny became even more solid, as unshakeable as the diamond plate on his own forehead.
Compared to Mr. Bison's dramatic transformation, Stripey and Scarlet had remained relatively the same. They had clearly grown stronger from the energy-rich environment, but their progress was nowhere near Mr. Bison's staggering leap in power.
"If you are so strong now, then get us out of here," Scarlet demanded, her voice sharp with frustration. "I want to go home! A protagonist should be able to do that, right?"
As a demonic red fox, Scarlet still retained her beautiful, shiny fur and elegant appearance. However, the spirited fire she once had seemed diminished. Even in this heaven-like environment for demonic beasts, a deep worry gnawed at her. With each passing day, her fear grew that she might never see her daughters again. First, they had been separated from Leyvi, and now they were trapped in this strange place. All she wanted was to return home.
Uhh...Mr Bison hesitated. He wasn't sure if he could escape this place. But if he says no, that would tarnish his protagonist identity. A protagonist never backs down from challenges! He had just received a massive power-up, and obviously, this was a power-up given to him to help him overcome this ordeal.
Snort!
"Fine!" Mr Bison declared, puffing out his massive chest. "Let me get used to my new power first. After that, I will destroy the wall over there and get us all out. As the protagonist, it is my duty to help my comrades... even though you guys don't believe in me. I will be the bigger bison!" He delivered his promise with his usual dramatic flair.
