However, his sense of "appropriate suppression" was fundamentally flawed. He had grown accustomed to fighting entities whose senses bordered on omniscience—beings who perceived intent, existence, and even causality itself. Compared to them, the level he had reduced himself to felt perfectly noticeable.
But here, in this room, among individuals who were overwhelmingly powerful by most standards, that same suppression made him seem like something that barely existed at all.
